Article Submission
-
I would like to know the best places to submit articles. Free would always be best; but I not against paying if required. We launched a site within the "Home and Garden" industry and have tonnes of into to share.

Hey Mat
Interesting response you've written.
It appears that Post Panda, Google has cracked down on article submissions i.e. not giving much value at all?
So would you agree, that one is better off writing an article and posting it in their own blog, and in their own social media pages?
Cheers
George

Matt is right on this.
Some years you may have tried to look for satellite websites or more. Now it's definitely not recommended.
In our case we reviewed all our competitors backlinks to see if there is any good website to do guest blogging with.
But the main guideline is now is: write content, make it good and useful, promote it on social media.
It is the best methods (at least the 7/30/13)

Hi SpadaMan,
Submitting articles usually means finding sites that only existing to host other people's articles, giving them a link in exchange for the article content. That approach has always been flawed and Google has been cracking down on it as deliberate manipulation of the results. Definitely steer clear.
If your articles are original and useful then your best bet is likely to be to use them on your own website. Start adding them on a regular basis, and push them out through social media at the same time. You could contact sites in your niche and see if they would take a and credit you as the author (with a link) as well.
If they aren't original and interesting/useful then your options are going to be limited. However I'd rather opt for "do nothing" than submitting them to article directories.

Updating a Business Blog Article - Old or New Published Date
There are a few business blogs that I'm currently updating - include more details, information, case studies, statistics etc. The blog was originally published in September of 2016. Once I make the changes, do I keep the same original date or do I change the date to the day that i've uploaded the new information? Example:

Original Published date: September 2016
Updated Blog: June 2017. What date should the blog display? Thank you.0 -

How to Get Rid of Duplicate Content Captured on Article Lists
We have a ton of articles and blog posts on our site. Currently, we display summary lists of articles that contain the first paragraph of the article in the summary list. However, in my reports, this is coming back as duplicate content with the full article itself. How do I fix this? Ex: article main page- http://www.robots.com/articles/10 First article on that page- http://www.robots.com/articles/viewing/grippers-for-robots (which shows up as duplicate content with the main artilce page). With our blogs, we have the most recent 5 blogs (in the same summary format) listed on our main blog page. We then have categories that people can sort by. But again, this is causing us duplicate content because those pages show the first paragraph of the blogs related to that category. Ex: blog main page- http://www.robots.com/blog. First blog listed on that page- http://www.robots.com/blog/viewing/robots-and-automation-bringing-jobs-back-to-the-united-states (which then shows as duplicate content with the main blog page). And then you can also select categories to see related topics: http://www.robots.com/blog/category/buying-a-robot which is showing as duplicate content also. Help! How can I prevent this? Thanks! Does anyone know of a great inexpensive article writing company overseas?
Hello, I'm hoping someone here has used or knows about a content writing company overseas that is very good. We would provide a lot of the information, and they would gather the rest by internet or talking with manufacturers by skype. We need at least 200 articles written, and we're on a tight budget. The articles need to be unique content, and very helpful to users. The people or person I hire will provide the articles in Microsoft Word, I'll do the rest. So far I've posted on Elance. Any useful people, companies, or helpful hints in doing this is appreciated! Thank you.

Removing and resubmitting an article to another blog
I received a guest post earlier from an SEO company. I have published it, and it's been indexed in Google. Now the person wants me to remove the guest post, probably because they already have a guest post with a link pointing to the same client on my blog. I don't mind removing it, but are their any negative aspects in republishing that same article on another blog? Would it be a mistake to remove that article from my blog?

Displaying archive content articles in a writers bio page
My site has writers, and each has their own profile page (accessible when you click their name inside an article). We set up the code in a way that the bios, in addition to the actual writer photo/bio, would dynamically generate links to each article he/she produces. Figured that someone reading something by Bob Smith, might want to read other stuff by him. Which was fine, initially. Fast forward, and some of these writers have 3,4, even 15 pages of archives, as the archive system paginates every 10 articles (so www.example.com/bob-smith/archive-page3, etc) My thinking is that this is a bad thing. The articles are likely already found elsewhere in the site (under the content landing page it was written for, for example) and I visualize spiders getting sucked into these archive black holes, never to return. I also assume that it is just more internal mass linking (yech) and probably doesnt help the overall TOS/bounce/exit, etc. Thoughts?
