Article Submission

I would like to know the best places to submit articles. Free would always be best; but I not against paying if required. We launched a site within the "Home and Garden" industry and have tonnes of into to share.

Hey Mat
Interesting response you've written.
It appears that Post Panda, Google has cracked down on article submissions i.e. not giving much value at all?
So would you agree, that one is better off writing an article and posting it in their own blog, and in their own social media pages?
Cheers
George

Matt is right on this.
Some years you may have tried to look for satellite websites or more. Now it's definitely not recommended.
In our case we reviewed all our competitors backlinks to see if there is any good website to do guest blogging with.
But the main guideline is now is: write content, make it good and useful, promote it on social media.
It is the best methods (at least the 7/30/13)

Hi SpadaMan,
Submitting articles usually means finding sites that only existing to host other people's articles, giving them a link in exchange for the article content. That approach has always been flawed and Google has been cracking down on it as deliberate manipulation of the results. Definitely steer clear.
If your articles are original and useful then your best bet is likely to be to use them on your own website. Start adding them on a regular basis, and push them out through social media at the same time. You could contact sites in your niche and see if they would take a and credit you as the author (with a link) as well.
If they aren't original and interesting/useful then your options are going to be limited. However I'd rather opt for "do nothing" than submitting them to article directories.

Updating a Business Blog Article - Old or New Published Date
There are a few business blogs that I'm currently updating - include more details, information, case studies, statistics etc. The blog was originally published in September of 2016. Once I make the changes, do I keep the same original date or do I change the date to the day that i've uploaded the new information? Example:

Updated Blog: June 2017. What date should the blog display? Thank you.0 -
Knowledge base for seo, announcing new articles on blog (dupe content)
Hi all, Im thinking of creating a knowledge base with all many asked questions in my company. This could be a great Link-bait source but also nice ranking opportunities i think. But sometimes some new articles are so actual that i also want to blog them.

Can i for example double post them (or post a big excerpt) on the blog and canonicalise it to the KB article?
Will links to the blog have equal value to KB links? And will this work?0 -

How to Get Rid of Duplicate Content Captured on Article Lists
We have a ton of articles and blog posts on our site. Currently, we display summary lists of articles that contain the first paragraph of the article in the summary list. However, in my reports, this is coming back as duplicate content with the full article itself. How do I fix this? Ex: article main page- http://www.robots.com/articles/10 First article on that page- http://www.robots.com/articles/viewing/grippers-for-robots (which shows up as duplicate content with the main artilce page). With our blogs, we have the most recent 5 blogs (in the same summary format) listed on our main blog page. We then have categories that people can sort by. But again, this is causing us duplicate content because those pages show the first paragraph of the blogs related to that category. Ex: blog main page- http://www.robots.com/blog. First blog listed on that page- http://www.robots.com/blog/viewing/robots-and-automation-bringing-jobs-back-to-the-united-states (which then shows as duplicate content with the main blog page). And then you can also select categories to see related topics: http://www.robots.com/blog/category/buying-a-robot which is showing as duplicate content also. Help! How can I prevent this? Thanks! Best strategy for content/articles. Individual pages or blog posts?
Hi all, Whilst adding content to one of my sites quite often I'm left deciding whether I should create an individual webpage for the content, or write it up as another blog post. More often I write it up as a static page so it fits in with the rest of my website more 'directly'. However I'm wondering if I'm missing out here as obviously I'm not taking advantage of the benefits of a blog, RSS, Tag Cloud, etc etc... Just wondering if others encounter the same quandary?
