Rich Snippets - Aggregated Review in Organic Search
-
Hi All,
Let’s say you are a service provider such a Garden Landscaper, and over time your customers have placed reviews on Google Local Places.
As part your sites redesign your looking to implement "Rich Snippets Aggregated Reviews". Your organic natural search results should include the reviews; aggregated star picture, aggregated review value and total reviews.
Question #1 Is this possible?
#2 What is the best way of achieving this via Wordpress as a plugin?
#3 Do you need to file for consideration via Google?Any other useful advice will be appreciated.
Thanks Mark

You should be able to use the Google Places API to include ratings and reviews.
Or you can check out how to Embed Google+ Local Business Reviews On Your Website In 3 Easy Steps - which might be easier than tinkering around with their API.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your response.
I have another related question:
Can you pull the review metrics from Google Local Places in readiness to publish on your website?Thank you in advance
Mark
-
but can't be one that's iframed or scripted from an external source?
-
It doesn't have to be through Google's review system.
Google can pull in reviews from Yelp, Citysearch, Yahoo Local, Bizrate, PriceGrabber, Epinions, etc.
Here is an example of how Google is pulling in reviews for Home Depot.

follow-up question:
Can reviews on our website through a 3rd party review app be used in rich snippets? or does it have to be google reviews?
-
Hi Mark,
To answer your questions:
-
Yes. That said, Google does not guarantee they will even use your rich snippets, "Rich snippets improve the web for everyone, so Google encourages webmasters to mark up their content (or use a Merchant Center product feed) to give us structured information about your data whenever appropriate. While we don't guarantee that we will always use this information, we will check your site for marked-up content when we crawl it."
-
Sorry, I don't know if Wordpress has a plugin; however, you just need to follow Google's Rich Snippet Guidelines.
-
You do not need to file for consideration. You do need to follow Google's Rich Snippet Guidelines and you can use Google's Rich Snippet Troubleshooting Guide if you do not see your snippets appearing.
Hope this helps.

Submitting URLs After New Search Console
Hi Everyone I wanted to see how people submit their urls to Google and ensure they are all being indexed. I currently have an ecommerce site with 18,000 products. I have sitemaps setup, but noticed that the various product pages haven't started ranking yet. If I submit the individual url through the new Google Search Console I see the page ranking in a matter of minutes. Before the new Google Search Console you could just ask Google to Fetch/Render an XML sitemap and ask it to crawl all the links. I don't see the same functionality working today on Google Search Console and was wondering if there are any new techniques people could share. Thanks,

Crawled page count in Search console
Hi Guys, I'm working on a project (premium-hookahs.nl) where I stumble upon a situation I can’t address. Attached is a screenshot of the crawled pages in Search Console. History: Doing to technical difficulties this webshop didn’t always no index filterpages resulting in thousands of duplicated pages. In reality this webshops has less than 1000 individual pages. At this point we took the following steps to result this: Noindex filterpages. Exclude those filterspages in Search Console and robots.txt. Canonical the filterpages to the relevant categoriepages. This however didn’t result in Google crawling less pages. Although the implementation wasn’t always sound (technical problems during updates) I’m sure this setup has been the same for the last two weeks. Personally I expected a drop of crawled pages but they are still sky high. Can’t imagine Google visits this site 40 times a day. To complicate the situation: We’re running an experiment to gain positions on around 250 long term searches. A few filters will be indexed (size, color, number of hoses and flavors) and three of them can be combined. This results in around 250 extra pages. Meta titles, descriptions, h1 and texts are unique as well. Questions: - Excluding in robots.txt should result in Google not crawling those pages right? - Is this number of crawled pages normal for a website with around 1000 unique pages? - What am I missing? How did my dev site end up in the search results?
We use a subdomain for our dev site. I never thought anything of it because the only way you can reach the dev site is through a vpn. Google has somehow indexed it. Any ideas on how that happened? I am adding the noindex tag, should I used canonical? Or is there anything else you can think of?

Hey there, i'm working on search results in dutch.
My biggest competitor who's number 1 in main keywords in google has almost only links from 'linkfarms' and blog comments. How is he ranked that high? Would it be a good idea to add a bit the best of these in my mix, while i work on the real good quality content?

Search Refinement URLs
My site is using search refinement and I am concerned about the URL adding additional characters when it's refined. My current URL is: http://www.autopartscheaper.com/Air-Conditioning-Heater-Parts-s/10280.htm and when someone chooses their specific year, make, and model then it changes to: http://www.autopartscheaper.com/Air-Conditioning-Heater-Parts-s/10280.htm?searching=Y&Cat=10280&RefineBy_7371=7708. Will this negatively affect SEO for this URL? Will the URL be counted twice? Any help would be great!

Universal Search vs Local Organic
Hi, My web site has high rankings in universal SERP's. However, in my city organic search the competitors’ web sites that even don’t show up in universal Serp’s have higher rankings than mine. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Thanks for any insight.
