Is there a way to know what rank my site is listed on google ?
-
My current client web page was listed at the 4th page 1 month ago. Im trying real hard to make him understand that the traffic from beiing on the first page is important and that he need to give me additionnal ressource to make it happen ( i don't prog at all). So i had the idea of checking every page to see whats is current rank. but instead of looking from page 1 to page X, i was wondering if there was something somewhere that could give me my rank right away. It woud help saving time.
Thx.

Thx for all those quick answer
After searching for a bit, i end up on this site: http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engines/keyword-position.html
which seems to indicate the correct position of keyword. I compare it whit the keyword i had in my campagne manager and even if its not always look accurate (campagne manager and this site), it at least give me a little hint of futur keyword for quick lookup at least.
Again, thx you all.

I'd highly recommend the campaign manager with SEOMoz. It takes a few days to crawl everything, but you can very easily identify some low hanging fruit really quickly.
It makes you look really good!

I use Market Samurai for rank tracking. You can use it to generate all possible keywords that your client may (or is trying to) rank for and then import those keywords in to the rank tracker module. It keeps a full history of all rank checks and placements. It's a handy tool.

Setting up keywords to track versus a specific page is pretty easy to do through SEOmoz' campaign tracker (other SERPs tracking software is available).
However if you already have webmaster tools set up you can go into 'Your site on the web > Search queries' and there will be an 'avg. position' for where Google thinks you rank. It's not super accurate though.

Hey,
If I understand your question properly, you're basically trying to find out where your clients web page is for certain keywords in the search engines without having to go through Google / Bing / Yahoo one by one and click through each page to find it?
If thats right, then there are a few tools:
-
SEOMoz has a fantastic rank tracker that allows you to export as a PDF / CSV file that you can send direct to the client. It'll track when you go up and down in the search engines and they'll be able to see their ranking positions.
-
I personally use "Rank Tracker" which is part of the SEO Powersuite. You can schedule tasks on a daily / weekly / monthly basis and track against your competitiors. You can have unlimited keywords, track it against your google analytics. You can also look at your KEI for each keyword, number of searches and generate reports direct for the client. It's really easy to use and the only downside is that it isn't hosted so you have to be accessing the files on your PC / Mac in the same place each time.
I don't know of any free tools that are actually any good at the moment so maybe someone else can help with that, but I use to the twwo tools above. They're fantastic and It should help to show your client where they are in the SERPs on a monthly basis.
Your question could be interpreted in another way, which would be seeing if each page is actually indexed. You can do that in Google webmaster tools, or by typing site:www.example.com into google. That will show all indexed pages in the search engine.
Again, SEOmoz has a great tool for helping with that
Hope that helps!

Hi Has anyone noticed anything strange with their rankings? I've had a few drops out of the blue at the start of August. Thanks!

404s in Google Search Console and javascript
The end of April, we made the switch from http to https and I was prepared for a surge in crawl errors while Google sorted out our site. However, I wasn't prepared for the surge in impossibly incorrect URLs and partial URLs that I've seen since then. I have learned that as Googlebot grows up, he'she's now attempting to read more javascript and will occasionally try to parse out and "read" a URL in a string of javascript code where no URL is actually present. So, I've "marked as fixed" hundreds of bits like /TRo39,Â

etc., etc.... But they are also returning hundreds of otherwise correct URLs with a .html extension when our CMS system generates URLs with a .uts extension like this: https://www.thompsoncigar.com/thumbnail/CIGARS/90-RATED-CIGARS/FULL-CIGARS/9012/c/9007/pc/8335.html
when it should be:
https://www.thompsoncigar.com/thumbnail/CIGARS/90-RATED-CIGARS/FULL-CIGARS/9012/c/9007/pc/8335.uts Worst of all, when I look at them in GSC and check the "linked from" tab it shows they are linked from themselves, so I can't backtrack and find a common source of the error. Is anyone else experiencing this? Got any suggestions on how to stop it from happening in the future? Last month it was 50 URLs, this month 150, so I can't keep creating redirects and hoping it goes away. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Why does my site dissappeare from the top 50?
Hellow I am having some problems with my site www.kondomanija.si. It was ranked on the first page for my main KW kondomi (in www.google.si, Slovenia) but now it is not in the top 10 pages. And this has happened before, it drops out of the top 10 pages and in a cople of moths it is back for a short time (till it drops out again). It think the site has a week link profile... Could this be the reason? Does anybody know what is going on?

Why does this website rank so well?
We've just taken on a new client who wants to rank well for 'Emergency dentist' related keywords in the London area and they have identified a website that they would like to compete with rankings wise. www.valedental.com I've done a backlink analysis with Open Site explorer and it says that the domain only has 2 inbound links? I've also done a who-is lookup and the domain was only registered in December 2012. Any idea why it is ranking so well for 'emergency dentist' 'emergency dentists' 'emergency dentist london' 'dental emergencies' (when searched for in the london area) thanks in advance for any help Marcus

Webpage is ranking on google.ie / google.co.uk but not google.com?
One of our site webpage appears to be found in the first few pages on google.ie / google.co.uk but not on google.com. Is there such a thing being penalised on a specific Google domain? Traffic is healthy despite this but I want to rank well for the page in google.com. Any ideas?
