Sudden drop in conversions!
-
Over the past week, I have noticed a drop in conversions. By drop, I mean NONE at all. The traffic to the site seems steady from different sources, so I don't think we've been hit with a penalty.
I have looked through the site, and there are no problems with the functionality.
Is it possible that you lose conversions because of the type of keywords that are driving traffic?
In other words, the impressions and queries remain steady, but you are not getting traffic that converts (if that makes any sense).
Thanks in advance for thoughts and advice.

Hello there,
"Is it possible that you lose conversions because of the type of keywords that are driving traffic?"
Yes it is. Every keyword falls into the buying funnel, more specifically into a section of it. It starts with awareness (usually) and ends with purchase (or any other action you want your visitor to take on the site).
In line with your objectives, you should target the right keywords.
Usually the first steps of the buying funnel do not involve conversions and if your keywords fall into those section you might have to change the keywords your targeting.
For example, let's say you sell laptop:
if you target black laptop you know that this keyword won't give you a high number of conversion as the keyword is too general and the traffic you get might just be made of people looking for laptop but have no intention to buy one. But the more you refine it the more specific it gets, and the more conversion you should get, so if you target a keyword such as **buy 15inch black laptop hp **(or whatever it might be) you will get more targeted traffic more likely to buy your products.
In case your objective was to build awareness, general keywords such as black laptop would have been a good keyword.
What I'd suggest is to review your objectives and align the keywords you target with them.
Hope it helps.

Attribution model - the weighted number of conversions - GA
Hi, 1.Can someone explain me with an example what is "The weighted number of conversions under the custom selected attribution model"? How Analytics calculate it? 2. If I increase e.g social source for 1.4 in my attribution model, my organic or direct source are loosing that weighted number of conversions. Could it be because of organic or direct getting lower credit, or for some other reason? Ty. Br.

SEO and Conversions from a C-Level perspective
Hi guys! Do you have any suggestion about articles about how to work with conversions and SEO from a C-level perspective? I know it is very open question, but there might be articles like (https://moz.com/ugc/how-can-pr-seo-and-ceo-people-work-together-for-link-building) that are great and written on this subject. Could you please share if you have any examples? I'm thinking for these perspectives: What knowledge and insight does a management team need to take control and drive the SEO and CRO related work (from a executive level)? How do the management team connect business strategy and goals with the SEO and CRO area? Have a great day!

Tracking Facebook Mobile Visits to Desktop Conversions?
Hi. If I set an ad in Facebook, I can obviously track visits, conversions and so on from that ad and see if they where mobile or desktop. However, how do I, if possible track a mobile visitor who the converts on a desktop? Eg. I go on XXX Facebook Ad on my mobile whilst in work, look around. Like what I see. Then I go home from work, open my laptopn and go on XXX website and send an email enquiry form in. Is this possible to track? Thanks

Any possibility to track goal completions/conversions at a sub-page (non-landing page) level in Google Analytics?
We’re promoting our sub-page it's http://www.flightcentre.ca/flights/london on our homepage under the slideshow so I need to see how many people went to the homepage, then went to this page, and then converted (enquired or booked.) What I can’t see is how many people did that. I know how to look up how many people landed on that page and then converted, but I need to know how many people navigated there and then converted. Is that possible? I can only see Goal Completions if I look at that page as a landing page, but that only presents a very slim view of the total visits when compared to those pages generally. Any way to check the entire behavior or activities happening through this page i.e. /flights/london?

Better Conversions with Java Script Pop Up Form or with Independent Page (URL)?
Greetings MOZ Community? I manage a commercial real estate site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com). Visitors view listings (for example:http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings/303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf). If they want more details they click on the "Interested In This Space, Contact a Broker" button. They get directed to a contact us form like: http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/contact-us?from_listing=303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf We are redesigning this form. Remove much of the text and allowing the visitor to check questions pertaining to the property, like "Schedule a Tour", "Get Floorplans", "Details on Similar Space'. Currently this conversion form is on its own URL, and as such has menus on top, which I am concerned could distract the visitor. Would we get better conversions if this form was a Java script pop up with no menus. That way there would be no distraction for the visitor and we would have a better chance of converting them. Any thoughts? Also, we are using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to track conversions. Would changing to a Java Script pop up form have any implications for tracking? Thanks everyone!!! Alan

What happens when i import analytics conversions into adwords if I already have conversions set up?
Hey everyone, I have a question. We already have conversion tracking set up for our landing pages, however Adwords has the option to import goals from anaytics, one of which is for the landing pages. What will happen if I do? Will it erase all the conversion data I already have? Will it mess things up? Or am I not understanding this correctly... Any help would be appreciated 🙂

Need Advice on Home page Conversion Rate Improvement - not much $$s
Anyone out there have some suggestions for how I can improve my home page and increase my lousy conversion rate? I've spent years on the content and SEO optimization of my site and very little time on making a home page that sells stuff. Caveat - I don't have the money to go to one of those fancy companies who do a complete makeover and charge in the tens of thousands. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
