      Hi,

I have a site that has a Feedburner feed that has been in place for 5+ years.  I am considering getting rid of the feed or starting a new one to combat content scraping.  Google continues to rank thieves' sites ahead of mine.  Google and Bing have no issue and always get it right.   I use Wordpress and have the plugin PubSubHubb, but that is no guarantee.  Nonetheless, there is no monetary value of my subscribers whereas the content not being accredited to me takes money out of my pocket as my model is advertising.

Is there any SEO issue if I do any of the following:

      1. Delete the feed and not have one?
      2. Change the feed address and drop all subscribers?

Attachments: DMCA Dashboard; example of being outranked by scrapers.

      My site: www.furniturefashion.com

Thanks for your time and hopefully I did not vent too much.

Robert. Thanks for the response.  I hate those sites as well and hate to see how they have exploited RSS.   It's a shame Google can't figure out who they are and who the real content creators are.  This should save me several hours a month by not having to file DMCA complaints.

Anthony.  Thanks for your response.  I think I will remove the feed.

You have a good question and I agree with Anthony. You can kill the feed and be fine - if that is the only consideration. If the feed is bringing you something in return, say more people reading and interacting with your blog, that is another consideration.
With the image you have here, it appears almost all of the scrapers are the same person, group, company, etc. They appear to be out of Turkey and are taking part of your contact, then placing the Pinterest link hidden where there should be an image. What actually happens is the person clicks thinking they are going to see an image, and their item gets pinned. (Funny, but if the person does not have pinterest, it won't happen and, most are going to "Books Worth Reading.") Also, most of the images have your CDN url. No help for them.

I hope that at least gives you some info to work with. Good luck. I hate that these types can get away with content theft, but I doubt their sites would actually outrank you for an actual keyword term search around the subject.

            Best

            Robert

You will be just fine if you remove your feed.

With the death of Google Reader and the lack of Feedburner support, I wouldn't be surprised if Google got rid of Feedburner down the road.

                WordPress Sub-directory for SEO

                wordpress subdirectory domain authority

Hi There, I'm working on a WordPress site that includes a premium content blog with approx 900 posts. As part of the project, those 900 posts and other membership functionality will be moved from the main site to another site built specifically for content/membership. Ideally, we want the existing posts to remain on the root domain to avoid a loss in link juice/domain authority. We initially began setting up a WordPress Multisite using the sub-directory option. This allows for the main site to be at www.website.com and the secondary site to be at www.website.com/secondary. Unfortunately, the themes and plugins we need for the platform do not play nicely with WordPress Multisite, so we started seeking a new solution, and, discovered that a second instance of WordPress can be installed in a subdirectory on the server. This would give us the same subdirectory structure while bypassing WordPress Multisite and instead, having two separate single-site installs. Do you foresee any issues with this WordPress subdirectory install? Does Google care/know these are two separate WordPress installs and do we risk losing any link juice/domain authority?

Gallery maintenance and the effect on SEO

Basically we get a lot of users uploading photos as part of their review, but many photos aren't moderated into our pages and therefore are never displayed. Things like selfies rather than photos of the product or just random google images that are completely unrelated to our products or services. Is there any benefit in cleaning up the gallery since some images we don't use are just sat there in admin?
when a page loads, would it be quicker if we had less content in the gallery? With our SEO hat on.
or does it not matter since it's not loading that content (photos) anyway?

                Merging Pages and SEO

Hi, We are redesigning our website the following way: Before: Page A with Content A, Page B with Content B, Page C with Content C, etc
e.g. one page for each Customer Returns, Overstocks, Master Case, etc
                Now: Page D with content A + B + C etc.
e.g. one long page containing all Product Conditions, one after the other So we are merging multiples pages into one.
What is the best way to do so, so we don't lose traffic? (or we lose the minimum possible) e.g. should we 301 Redirect A/B/C to D...?
Is it likely that we lose significant traffic with this change? Thank you,

                CDN for SEO (or not)?

Does CDN impact on SEO or not? There seems conflicting ideas as to whether they impact positively or negatively, I realise that if the page loads quicker this is a good thing for SEO and usability of course. Does Google see CDN as just cheating and a get-around for not doing the work from the ground up and using good hosting etc? Do you have any direct experience? All constructive input much appreciated!

                Removing UpperCase URLs from Indexing

This search   -  site:www.qjamba.com/online-savings/automotix gives me this result from Google: Automotix online coupons and shopping - Qjamba
                https://www.qjamba.com/online-savings/automotix
Online Coupons and Shopping Savings for Automotix. Coupon codes for online discounts on Vehicles & Parts products. and Google tells me there is another one, which is 'very simliar'.  When I click to see it I get: Automotix online coupons and shopping - Qjamba
                https://www.qjamba.com/online-savings/Automotix
Online Coupons and Shopping Savings for Automotix. Coupon codes for online discounts on Vehicles & Parts products. This is because I recently changed my program to redirect all urls with uppercase in them to lower case, as it appears that all lowercase is strongly recommended. I assume that having 2 indexed urls for the same content dilutes link juice.  Can I safely remove all of my UpperCase indexed pages from Google without it affecting the indexing of the lower case urls?  And if, so what is the best way -- there are thousands.

                SEO Advice for Angular JS

We are changing our homepage (and gradually the rest of the site) to Angular JS.
In order not to lose anything in terms of SEO we are implementing Hashbangs + escaped fragment snapshots. Are there any other SEO considerations you think we should have and/or additional elements that we could add to the page to improve it in terms of SEO?
