Is Moz creating a Bunker-Mentality with its Customers?
-
I’ve been using Moz (and SEOMoz) for almost 3 years. During that time, I’ve found them to be very engaged; however, during the last several months, I’ve found a shift in this philosophy—which is a bit disheartening:
- SEOMoz used to have a very simple contact-us page that listed an email to the help desk as well as the office. Now, they have the locations of the two Moz offices, with no phone numbers or emails.
- Moz’s help hub, used to have a form that could be completed when you were having issues. Now, there is only a list of community-managed resources to access.
The only way you can find the way to contact their help desk is if something breaks & the website gives you an email help@moz.com. However, this email account seems to get overloaded quite often and you will get a “Delivery Response Failed” message because their inbox is full.
Does anyone know how to get a hold of Moz directly? I'm having some issues accessing Moz Analytics and really need help from their support team.

I wanted to let everyone know that we just launched http://health.moz.com/. This lists the current trending issues at Moz, any information we have about a fix or ETA for a fix, and a direct link to the page to submit a ticket to the help desk. This is not hosted on Moz servers, so even if Moz itself is down, you'll be able to go here and see what's up.

Hi Eric! Did you end up emailing us? I think we thought you were going to email us your specific information and issue. Sorry for that confusion! We'll get right on it as soon as you email in.
Thanks!
-
Hi Jennita,
I thought you assigned my issue (not being able to access analytics) to a customer service manager? If so, I have heard nothing.
Generally, Moz seems a little more on top of customer service.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! First off, we're working on fixing the email issue. We should be able to receive emails again shortly, but in the meantime, the contact form at is working.
I'm really sorry that the contact form seems to be hidden. We'll get to work on some redesign that will make contacting us easier. We want to make it easy to find self-help since it's the fastest way to get answers, but we don't want that to be at the expense of contacting us when you want to. Thanks for letting us know!

Hey Eric,
That is a great suggestion! We're going to be talking this week how about how to improve that experience, and I'll be sure to bring this up.
Also, the help alias, as well as the form mentioned above are both working now.

Hi Jen,
Thanks for your response. I have a really simple suggestion that might make this whole process easier (and it came after looking at the link you sent above /help/contact, which I never knew existed).
Instead of placing the "Contact Help" in the navigation menu on the moz.com/help page, why not put a Prominent call to action button next to the phrase "Have a Question? We can help find an answer?"
Having the "Contact Help" in menu may seem like a good spot, but in reality may be kind of hidden. Just a thought.

This is getting old, guys!
I've got nothing but respect for MOZ but it definitely seems like you bit off more than you can chew.
I can't think of one Moz "tool" or service right now that is 100% reliable.
$100/month isn't going to break the bank for most people....but it's an expense. It's actually more $ than I pay for my 400 sq. ft. office's internet service and electricity combined. And they're always on.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for reaching out, our goal has always been to help our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible, while always staying TAGFEE throughout. I can completely understand your frustration here, and interestingly enough we've been talking as a team about how we can ensure that contacting is as easy as possible, and ensure that we're able to still give the best service possible.
Normally emailing us at help@moz.com, or submitting this form: http://moz.com/help/contact, will always do the trick. This weekend however we experienced some server issues which seemed to cause many of our help emails to bounce, and right now we're hearing that many folks are getting a response saying our mailbox is full. We're feverishly working hard to get this resolved, because we do care deeply about the customer experience.
I've assigned your question to our Customer Service Manager, and will ping him about it as well. We'll update this thread when we have more information about the mailbox quota issue. At that point you will be able to send an email with the specific issues you're having.
Thanks for all your patience, and for bringing the issue to our attention! If we don't know about it, we can't fix it.
Have a good day!
Jen

I would presume the help@moz would be the email they are referring to along with their names @ moz.
"We do one-to-one support via email, our contact form on the Help Hub, and via live chat for sales and billing questions"
I guess its ticket related ?
-
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the update; just to clarify, Moz states on the link labled "here" that you included that they take email; however, it is spotty at best.

Moz tend to be about on the Q&A (I guess they like people to help them selfs!)
The reason why they don't have phone support is here
Worse case you can try their zen desk
https://seomoz.zendesk.com/home
Hope that helps.

I have also trouble in reaching moz help. I am a new user and get a bit disappointed with the help and support.

What do the Moz user levels mean?
I see that there are 3 other levels to a Moz Community Profile that users can have outside of the traditional 5 levels earned through points (Contributor-Oracle) and they are Pro, Associate and Staff. Obviously, Staff is someone who works at Moz but what do Pro and Associate mean and how do you get them?

Moz showing zero traffic GA showing activity
Hey guys Im sure this question has been asked before but I could not find it. I promised I looked hard. I hooked up my account three days ago. For some reason Google Analytics is showing that I am indeed getting some good traffic to my site. But Moz is reporting zero zero zero across the board for anything and showing I have zero back links which is not correct. I thought it would eventually start working but its not. Any suggestions?

On Page Optimization and Page Grader in Moz Needs Some Fixes
Okay, so I've brought this up a couple times to your team and have always been met with resistance and confusion, but I really feel like the fundamental design of your on page grader (the auto one) needs some changes in order to be really useful. Let's start with the basics. An on page grader is supposed to be a tool where you can enter your keyword or keywords and have it scan the URL to see how well the keyword has been implemented on the page. It checks for heading use, anchor text, alt tags, frequency of use, etc. We all should get this if we are here. Now, your manual page grader does just that and does a great job of it. I find it very useful for checking newly created pages, landing pages, competitor pages and the like. However, your auto version found in the Search > On-Page Optimizations is the culprit here. So, according to several staff at Moz, this tool scans your site every week when the rest of your site scan is done. It then takes the rankings of pages for ranked and tracked keywords and assigns a grade for that page. Here's the major problem.... in almost all of my accounts, it very rarely gets the association with keyword and URL correct. Thus, it returns a low page grade even though the grade of the URL would be an A or B for the correct keyword. What seems to be happening is I'm tracking multiple keywords, sometime close variations. This grade tool in a lot of cases is grading a page more than once for several keywords it's ranking for. All the variants it gets a low grade for because the exact keywords isn't in the title, headings, etc. The second thing that seems to be happening is some pages are not being graded using the primary keyword, but instead a variation. In this case it only shows low grades for the page. On one occurrence of trying to discuss this issue with you, I got scoffed at for saying the tool was "guessing at which keyword to use for the grade". Your staff was very adamant in saying "it's not a guess!" My counter point was, call it what you want, it's in accurate to the intended keyword to be optimized for. Now, when one first gets to this tool, all of the above doesn't seem like that big of a deal because there's an "add & manage page grade" section. This section allows you to add and manage page grades. So, one would think that you could go to this tool, add an page grades for keywords that the tool didn't automatically associate and delete ones that it added with an incorrect association and that would be the end of it. However, that's NOT quite the end of it. At your own admission, the tool doesn't function like that. Each week when a new scan is completed, these pages grades essentially reset. So any page grade that you deleted will simply show right back up again. Now, before I go any further, let me explain why this is such an issue for me. First, on page optimization is something my company does and sells as a service and we are pretty good at it. Not saying we're the best, but we're better than most. That said, one of my reasons for choosing Moz was because according to the verbiage on the pages, one can create branded reports to include on page optimization. However, when the tool doesn't get the right keyword to landing page AND there's no way to manually override it, then basically all of my reports make it look like my pages grades suck, when in face they don't. Now, if in my campaigns I only added the exact keyword for each page and didn't do any variations of, then this tools becomes much more accurate. However, I want to track multiple variations. Bottom line is this: I need a page grading and reporting tool I can count on and actually use. Thus far, you solution is riddled with problems and every time I bring it up, you fight me on it saying it's working as it's supposed to. What I'm saying here is "as it's supposed to" is fundamentally wrong. I'd like to discuss this with someone at this point, and preferably someone a bit higher up than a first tier support person because frankly, I'm not getting anywhere. Overall I love your service, but it's things like this that have me questioning wether or not Moz is right. I'm giving you opportunity after opportunity to prove to me that it is. Help me work this out so we can continue that trend. Thanks, Micha

Back to Pro in New Moz Analytics Accounts?
I have two accounts with Moz.com Account One (about a year old) has both the options to switch over between Moz Pro and Moz Analytics. Account Two (a trial so far) just has the option to use Moz Analytics. So new or trial accounts don't have access to Moz Pro?

Archived campaigns not in Moz Analytics
Hi team! Working in the awesome new Moz Analytics, I happened to notice that all (but one) of our archived campaigns seem to be missing from Moz Analytics (in the "Manage Your Campaigns" area). Have we jumped the gun and perhaps they're still working their way over in the migration? If so, do they have an estimated arrival date? Any light which can be shed on this is much appreciated. Thanks team!
