Home Page Location Redirect
-
We have recently upgraded our Wordpress site to detect your local city and redirect to the proper location. Previously we had independent sites - for example, http://atlanta.styleblueprint.com is now http://styleblueprint.com/atlanta
We've setup 301 redirects on all of the old site home pages. Now we have two issues:
-
Moz will no longer crawl our domain. For two weeks now our campaign shows only four pages crawled
-
None of our home pages show up in Google any longer for organic searches. We previously always ranked #1 for "styleblueprint" or "style blueprint"
Does our new auto redirect mess things up? Or is this just a function of time until Google "learns" how to index our new site?
All thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jay

Thank you! I totally missed this in the migration checklist. #facepalm
It should be correct now.
Thanks again, Jay

Maximilian is right. Apparently that's the issue. Moz also respects the noindex, nofollow (I believe) and that's the reason they aren't crawling those pages either.

Hey Thomas,
I can actually see your site on searches for both "styleblueprint" or "style blueprint", but I have just noticed you have made a terrible error.
You have blocked search engines from indexing your site by adding the 'noindex, nofollow' robots meta tag to every page. This meta tag instructs search engines not to index the page. You need to remove this tag ASAP as you site is probably being dropped from the SERPS and that's why you cannot find your site and probably why Moz cant crawl the site.
The code to remove looks like this in your source code:
name='robots' content='noindex, nofollow' /> The reason this code might be on your pages could be your settings on wordpress. On the left menu in wordpress dashboard click 'Settings', then click 'Reading' and see if the following box is checked: 'Discourage search engines from indexing this site'. If it is, uncheck it then check all your pages to see if the code has gone.

'Duplicate Page Content' for dissimilar pages
I'm using Moz's Crawl Diagnostics to try and clean up some SEO priorities for our website (http://www.craftcompany.co.uk) HOWEVER, virtually all of the pages that are being categorised as duplicate content are not the same, or indeed similar. For instance, these three pages have been deemed duplicated pages; http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/pme-rose-leaf-veined-plunger.html http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/double-faced-satin-ribbon-black-25mm-wide.html http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/double-faced-satin-maroon-10mm-wide-25mt.html Can anyone give me an insight into why this is? Many Thanks! http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/

Help with 301 redirects.
Hi, I would like to say thank you in advance to all who help me with my question. MOZ crawl test showed duplicate content for a site that i just finished. I have www.site.com, site.com and site.index.html( all are the home page) So i have decided to 301 redirect all pages to site.com. And I also learned that when you do a 301 redirect all link juice is passed to the page that i redirect to. Here is my question: If someone links to my site using www.site.com instead of site.com in the future, will the 301 redirect still pass the pr to the page?( site.com). Or it only does, at the time of redirect and not in the future. I know this might be a stupid question but i am really new to this and couldn't find an answer for that. Thanks guys

Temporary Redirect Notice regarding Wordpress
Hello, Under the warnings in Moz, we have 44 temporary redirect warnings showing up because we moved our blog from timelinkblogs.wordpress.org to our subdomain blog.timelink.org within Wordpress. Wordpress indicates that these were permanent 301 redirects, but Moz is indicating that they are temporary. We want to be sure that they are permanent so we retain the SEO credit. Can someone please confirm that these are permanent redirects i.e. http://blog.timelink.com/2012/02/17/true-stories-time-and-attendance-pay-rules-2 Moz is showing the following- it has a "trackback" added to the URL? http://blog.timelink.com/2012/02/17/true-stories-time-and-attendance-pay-rules-2/trackback/ Thanks!

Pages Crawled: 1 Why?
I have some campaigns which have only 1 page crawled, while some other campaigns, having completely similar URL (subdomain) and number of keywords and pages, have all pages crawled... Why is that so? It has been also a while I waited and so far no change...

On-Page Report Card Questions
First post here, a couple questions as I work through some of the SEOMOZ tool reporting, specifically the On-page Report Card. I've just received the report results yesterday, so working through the data now. There are two issues categorized as critical by the tool: (1) The grader is stating I don't have any instances of the target keyword in my page title, yet it's there. (The page title is too long, but I'm in the process of hacking the blog software to fix this, it's auto-generated by the CMS.) (2) It's also saying under "Broad Keyword Usage in Document" that I have zero instances of the keyword in the body text, and while I certainly don't have enough, there is at least one instance at the bottom of the blog post. All the text is contained with tags. (3) Related to #2, what's the difference between "Appropriate Keyword Usage in Document" under "High Importance Factors" and "Broad Keyword Usage in Document" under "Critical Factors"

So we took some hosting at Planete Hoster (located in Canada) with French IP, but our seomoz toolbar says our website is located in Canada 😞 See: http://www.aupaindantan.fr/ Could you please explain? do we need to change the hoster and to take one in France or this one is ok? Thank you for your answer
