How is IT handling multi-page search results for this url?
-
How is the IT team handling multi-page results? The URL is the same - with out any parameters, but the content changes. Is this best way to handle it from an SEO perspective?

OK, I see what you mean now. I am not sure how they are doing that. You would normally see that if the content of the page was output through an iframe but I couldn't find one in the source code. It's possible it is something OpenCart is doing
It's not a great idea from a user experience basis really, but search engines are not going to read the URL in the address bar. They will use the links that are in the pagination links at the bottom. For example, this is page 2:
http://www.manhattanfruitier.com/index.php?route=product/category/shopall_Data&osc=0&page=2
So that is what will be indexed.

Thanks. What I mean is if you scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link to page2 or 3, it is the same URL with no parameter.

Hi,
I'm not sure what you mean on this as every time I refresh the page you linked to I get the same page content. It could be that though from time to time the page content changes. That will be produced by an extension of some sort for the OpenCart shopping system being used on this site. For example: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=5490
Is this the best way to handle it from an SEO perspective? If it was every page on your site then I would say yes, but I would guess this only affects the home page and in that case it doesn't really matter. If anything it may help a little because the search engines will see the content changed every time they visit that page.
I hope that helps.
Peter

Customer Reviews on Product Page / Pagination / Crawl 3 review pages only
Hi experts, I present customer feedback, reviews basically, on my website for the products that are sold. And with this comes the ability to read reviews and obviously with pagination to display the available reviews. Now I want users to be able to flick through and read the reviews to help them satisfy whatever curiosity they have. My only thinking is that the page that contains the reviews, with each click of the pagination will present roughly the same content. The only thing that changes is the title tags which will contain the number in the H1 to display the page number. I'm thinking this could be duplication but i have yet to be notified by Google in my Search console... Should i block crawlers from crawling beyond page 3 of reviews? Thanks

Do you need a canonical tag for search and filter pages?
Hi Moz Community, We've been implementing new canonical tags for our category pages but I have a question about pages that are found via search and our filtering options. Would we still need a canonical tag for pages that show up in search + a filter option if it only lists one page of items? Example below. www.uncommongoods.com/search.html/find/?q=dog&exclusive=1 Thanks!

Localised results always been returned for a query, how do you handle this?
I've got an interesting issue relating to geo-location and I'm not sure how to go about solving it. The site: http://www.onlinecoal.co.uk according to the Moz rank tracker is currently ranking 12th for the term "coal merchants" but has been as high as 5th in recent weeks. However, I've tried the search out in a number of locations (cleared caches, not logged in, different devices etc) and it always seems to returns results with a bias towards local business. The only way I see the results that Moz reports is by using this string: https://www.google.com/?q=coal&pws=0#pws=0&q=coal+merchants&safe=off&start=10 I know from the visits report by analytics that my experience is typical of that potential visitors are finding, Google always returns localised results for the term "coal merchants" My question is two pronged: 1. What causes google to decide that a general search term is best served with localised results? 2. What is my best strategy to deal with this?

Local search results appearing above Organic
Hello, I've just performed a search for the query 'outdoor clothing' using Google Incognito mode and I've added the screenshots below to show my findings. The first attempt at the search only showed local results then when I clicked search again adverts were shown. I found this very odd, normally I'd see the local results after the 3rd of 4th organic result.Have Google changed their algorithm or is this just random? http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/8643/incognito1.jpg http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6382/incognito2jf.jpg Thanks, Dan

Authorship and picture in search results
Tim and Kris Hallbom at this site: nlpca(dot)com are authors of several books and many great articles, and they would like their picture to show up in their search results. Articlebase.com contacted us and called it authorship, and said that they could get our picture to begin showing up in appropriate google searches. But we don't want to go through Articlebase.com, how do we do this? Thank you.
