Penny Clicks in Adwords?
-
I'm looking at starting a few Adwords campaigns (for search only) and targeting a niche where there is very little competition. Lets assume I get a very good CTR on my ads. How much could I expect to pay per click? Does Adwords have any minimums CPCs? Or is it actually possible to get penny clicks in Adwords?

Arbitrageurs killed the penny Adwords clicks about ten years ago. Today, I think that you will be lucky to find any clicks that go for less than ten cents each.
Today you can find a SERP with huge traffic and no ads. You will think "I can get cheap clicks there". They do not exist. Google will run your ads for a few thousand impressions and then force you to bid an amazing price.

Hey Shawn,
You can get estimations of CPC through Adwords Keyword Tool or Keyword Spy!
But I agree with Adam, it's more theoratical! CPC depends upon
- Quality Score of keyword
Which is derived from 3 Things
- Click Through Rate
- Quality of Ad
- Landing Page Experience
Overall performance of campaign depend upon many other factors as well!
I hope this will help!

Hi Shawn,
In theory it's possible, but it's pretty difficult and can take an awful lot of optimisation. As well as who else is bidding, Google take into account your quality score. You'll need to optimise your quality score a lot by having very relevant keywords, ads, and landing pages and segment everything down into a lot of ad groups to have any chance. Then you'll need to achieve a high CTR, have low competition and constantly optimise everything (taking out low performing keywords, adjusting ad copy etc).
It can be a long road, but in theory you can get there - by following the above though you will in theory continually drive your costs down, so whilst you may never get to $0.01 you may get closer than you are now!
Hope that helps
