SEO For A Title Company?
-
Has anyone ever had success with doing SEO for a title company? The owner of our law firm has one, and I'd be happy to work on it, but it just doesn't seem to be cost-effective. From my experience, title business goes to people who personally know the realtor; no one who actually has a say is "googling title companies." But, if I'm wrong, I'd love to hear it and any experiences you want to share.
Thanks,
Ruben

I bet content on that topic would be good linkbait.

Thanks Cole!
We actually rank pretty decently for putting hardly any effort into it, but just like with your clients, very little (I'd almost say none) comes from it. But, thank you so much for mentioning "Remarketing," because you're right, the "title industry is a top-of-mind game." That is definitely something we could work on.
Thanks again,
Ruben

Hey Ruben,
I've done some work for a couple title companies. If you Google "title lawyers lafayette la" or "title attorneys lafayette la," we rank #1. HOWEVER, our client has not seen a big jump of incoming customers from the website. In addition, we have recently added on local SEO (Google Places for business).
I've seen local SEO (Google Places for business) have tremendous success with a local criminal lawyer in town.
Conclusion: Local SEO may be more valuable than attempting to rank #1 on Google, but it is important to remember that your Local SEO (Google Places) is affected by your organic SEO as one of many factors.
I suggest: Having A+ on-site optimization (URL's, Title, Meta Description, Content with focused keywords, h1-h3 headers, image alt tags). And pursuing Local SEO via Google Places. Make sure to fill out all of the information within the account and I hope you achieve first page of Google Maps on SERPs.
Other marketing efforts: We have seen success from doing Facebook Ads targeting the real estate companies in town (custom audiences would be great too). We have also seen good success in Remarketing. Considering the title industry is a top-of-mind game.
Good luck!

In a pickle. SEO for Personal Brand, Book or Keywords?
I'm getting ready to take on a new client for SEO, but she is having a hard time understanding I'd like to rank her for "Her" and her new book, rather than keywords for her ambiguous keywords which show very little to no search volume from Keyword Planner data. Her website and domain name are only 4 months old Her book launches sometime in December (most likely January 2016) Her services (she's a consultant) provide little keyword volume She is persuaded she needs to rank for her service keywords I feel strongly we need to get her name, her method/approach and her book optimized She is seemingly difficult to work with, but once I build trust in SEO for her, so will be a great, long client Her consulting services are based on Change and Transition for wealthy individuals going through career change, divorce, pay increase, pay decrease, depression, children, etc... targeting Executives, C-Level Execs In this situation, what would you all do? How would this website or person even be optimized? Blog articles? Press releases? Guest blogging? Video blogs? Podcasts? It's a tricky one and hoping the Moz community can lend some ideas as this type of SEO would be new for me, yet I'm up for the challenge! Thank you in advance and look forward to your replies! - Patrick

Is putting/removing Adsense ads on the site affects crawling for seo?
Because I noticed when we totally remove Adsense ads on our site, the pages crawled per day on the google webmastertools suddenly dropped into noticable amount and we tested again to turn it on for a singe day, it jumped up again. So if Adsense affects crawling then, if we have adsense ad on all pages of the site the more chances it gets crawled by the bot? WS76R8w

What is SEO to you
We define SEO, as search engine optimization. Though it is more of an art. A web developer is not necessarily a SEO and vice versa. In my job as a web developer I wear many hats, and often asked what exactly SEO is. Before panda the seo industry seemed to follow "tricks" to get sites ranked. This practice lead to many seo company's thinking that spamming links, using link exchanges, link rings etc.. was actually the way to "SEO". So now it seams SEO is simply a short word as to how to get your site in top results, thusly ignoring the actual definition. As a web developer I always viewed SEO as a way to help the search engines understand what my web page is about. What do you think SEO means to you and your company?

How can we provide geo-detection without hurting SEO?
We represent a franchise, and the parent site does well for head terms, but we want to add a feature with the nearest location to a consumer based on geo-detection. We don't want to hurt the rankings for broad head terms. Could we use an iFrame to present the closest shop without affecting the general SEO we have done?

What's the best SEO management system for link building and reporting?
We've tried multiple management systems, with the last one being Raven Tools (I think this is the most popular). We've also done our own manual tracking in excel and that gets very very tedious and sometimes hard to keep track of. What are some other ones that people have found that have been easy to use and made their work much more efficient (link building/tracking, reporting, competitive research, social, etc.)?

Google Is Displaying An Alt image tag as my homepage's page title
Google is randomly displaying the alt image tag as the page title for my homepage. It happens when you search for the brand name, but the page title appears as "BrandName Logo" (obviously not "BrandName"). Has anybody seen this happen before?
