Mobile friendly - Sub domain after responsive?
-
My client has a mobile website (m.website.com) and is working on a responsive website.
The site is already labeled "Mobile friendly" on the SERP and I was wondering if, when the site will be responsive, it would be worth it to redirect the subdomain or it would be safer to keep the subdomain and still redirect mobile users to it since we're already Mobile friendly (we would keep the rel alternate on the main domain and the rel canonical on mobile).

To make it a little less of a coin toss, if the responsive site is delivering an even better user experience than the mobile website, redirecting the subdomain could be a benefit. You'd want to have solid split testing data from uniform groups of users, but if the directions point to responsive over m.website.com it could make since to go with the responsive site as the sole experience.

Should client sub domains appear in Google or not?
I have a client who has created a number of login pages for their clients (eg. clientA.domain.com, clientB.domain.com). They are all password protected. Just wondering if this has any impact on SEO, good or bad?

Legal Client Wants to Change Domain Name... What's the best way to pass authority from old domain?
Hey Mozzers,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | WhiteboardCreations
I received a call on Friday from a 6 attorney law office who have been my client for a long time. They have an established brand/domain in their market which isn't very big, but has a lot of competition. 2 of the attorneys are leaving to start their own firm and they want to remove a letter from their name abbreviation, thus their domain name as well. So, the other partners want to change the domain to reflect this. They want to buy a EMD [city]lawyers.com for about $1,600 along with some others to protect their new brand and name. I have a good idea as to what I need to do, BUT would love to hear advice from the community for this type of drastic change. 301 redirects? New Google Analytics code or same just different profile? Webmasters verifications? Content from old site? Old domain forwarding or keep active for a little bit? Is not the time to get them an SSL? Also, what should I prepare them for in terms of website traffic expectations and Google authority drops or remains the same? I know their Moz DA/PA will drop to 1/1, but anything else to look out for? Thank you in advance!

Lower quality new domain link vs higher quality repeat domain link
First time poster here with a dilemma that head scratching and spreadsheets can't solve! I'm trying to work out whether to focus on getting links from new domains or to nurture relationships with the bigger sites in our business and get more links. Of the two links below which does the community here think would be more valuable a signal to Google? Both would be links from within relevant text/post copy. Link 1. Site DA 30. No links currently from this domain. Link 2. Site DA 60. Many links over last 12 months already from this domain. I suspect link 1 but given the enormous disparity in ranking power am I correct?! Thanks for any considered opinions out there! Matthew
