Does mobile usability issues reduce your ranking in desktop search results?

Google has been sending emails out about usability errors. Do they have an effect on the rankings for desktop search results?

I am not sure by your question what types of usability issues you are getting notifications about but if it is mobile-friendly related then you will definitely want to get those resolved. Google recently announced that they are going to take mobile usability into consideration for rank - here are a few sources:

The general consensus is that no they shouldn't affect desktop rankings, but the move towards making sure your site has mobile usability is one that should take place regardless because Google is definitely emphasizing it.

Sudden Drop in Rankings
I manage a site and this past month have noticed some pretty significant drops in rankings for some of our main keywords. I'm trying to understand why and what I can do to correct it. We did do some 301 redirects a little over a month ago so I've been wondering if that has anything to do with it as Google indexes the new URLs. One thing I did notice in Moz is that it is showing that Google is indexing the new URLs but associating them with the wrong keywords in the wrong location. The company services three locations and each location has a service page on the site. But Moz is showing that in Atlanta, the indexed URL is the Nashville one, etc. Is there any way to affect that? Another thing to note is that organic search traffic is actually up so it doesn't appear to be affecting them which I find a bit strange. Just looking for any insight as to things I should be looking into to explain the sudden drops. Thanks!

Desktop in http and mobile in https
Any experience or advice you can share of having a mix set of pages/urls in one site/domain https and http e.g. mobile in https and desktop in http , (desktop version) http://mydomain/product1 (mobile version)https://m.mydomain.com/product1 att the same time some mobile pages still in http://m.mydomain.com/sectionA/ thanks

Mobile and hidden content - Any issue for SEO?
In reference to mobile - am I walking a fine SEO line when it comes to hidden content on mobile? On the responsive variations of sites we are working on some content is hidden (that displays on the desktop version of the site) so that pages on mobile can display correctly. Is this negative for SEO? Appreciate any feedback Cheers.

Rankings plummeted... whhhaaaa!
Hey all, I just came on as the SEO Specialist for an Ecommerce site a few months ago and have been working quite hard on getting things in order with the site's architecture, dup content, backlinking etc. Last week we made the move from 3 subdomains of a top level domain to subdirectories as the content/products are too much alike to be running subdomains. The way it's working now is when a request comes in to the old subdomain, the redirect to the subdirectory is happening at the htaccess file with a permanent 301. That said, I got our SEOmoz ranking report today and we have plummeted all over the place keyword ranking wise. I am quite sure that it's due to the change in architecture that happened last week... but what do you all think? I would be appreciative of any advice or thoughts from the SEOmoz community. Should I set up a disallow in the robots.txt for catalog search results?
When the crawl diagnostics came back for my site its showing around 3,000 pages of duplicate content. Almost all of them are of the catalog search results page. I also did a site search on Google and they have most of the results pages in their index too. I think I should just disallow the bots in the /catalogsearch/ sub folder, but I'm not sure if this will have any negative effect?

Duplicate title issue
During the crwal SEO moz found duplicate title problems with quite a good number of pages. This was because my site has test questions like http://www.skill-guru.com/12/scjp-5-mock-test/questions and when user does next or previous, they can traverse to different pages but the title and descrition would remain same. How can this probkem be resolved ?
