Google support eTag?
-
Hello~ People!
I have a questions regarding eTag.
I know Google support If-Modified-HTTP-Header aka last modified header.
I used eTag instead of last modified header.
It seems like Google does support, yet here is my questions.
code.google suggest as following.
GData-Version: 2.0
ETag: "C0QBRXcycSp7ImA9WxRVFUk."but I used etag as following .
ETag: "10cd712-eaae-b279a480"
I didnt include "GData-Version: 2.0". is this mean Google may not support my etag?

I'm seeing another place where Google doesn't reference the Gdata in code.google.com. Check out http://code.google.com/apis/storage/docs/reference-headers.html#etag.
In API changelog documentation for their calendar http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/changelog.html they say "If a client wishes to retain version 2.0 error behavior, then it can either send a request with the
Gdata-Version: 2.0
HTTP header or append?v=2.0
to request URIs. In this case, no error will be provided if an outdated updated-min parameter is provided or if a gCal:eid conflict occurs when inserting a recurrence exception. However, the server response docuement will still conform to version 2.1 and contain aGdata-Version: 2.1
header."It seems like you're fine, as most of the references I'm seeing Google made don't include that GData info.

Why are Google SERP Sitelinks "Not Working?"
Hi, I'm hoping someone can provide some insight. I Google searched "citizenpath" recently and found that all of our our sitelinks have identical text. The text seems to come from the site footer. It isn't using the meta descriptions (we definitely have) or even a Google-dictated snippet from the page. I understand we don't have "control" of this. It's also worth mentioning that if you search a specific page like "contact us citizenpath" you'll get a more appropriate excerpt. Can you help us understand what is happening? This isn't helpful for Google users or CitizenPath. Did the Google algorithm go awry or is there a technical error on our site? We use up-to-date versions of Wordpress and Yoast SEO. Thanks! search.png

Does Google Parse The Anchor Text while Indexing
Hey moz fanz, I'm here to ask a bit technical and open-minding question.
Technical SEO | | atakala
In the Google's paper http://infolab.stanford.edu/~backrub/google.html
They say they parse the page into hits which is basically word occurences.
But I want to know that they also do the same thing while keeping the anchor text database.
I mean do they parse the anchor text or keep it as it is .
For example, let's say my anchor text is "real car games".
When they indexing my link with anchor text, do they parse my anchor text as hits like
"real" distinct hits
"car" distinct hits
"games" distinct hits.
OR do they just use it as it is. As "real car games"0 -
Google bot notification
Hi there! I've just made some changes in my website in order to optimize it but I don't know if there's a way to notify the googlebot that some aspects of the configuration (metas) have changed and must be "taken into account". The spider visited my site two days ago and obviously processed the sitemap file. I've heard that it's possible to do a ping to certain websites. Is this the way to proceed? I must say that there're not many updates in the site (just one way information) as the social media activity is still low. Thanks in advanced.

About Google Spider
Hello, people! I have some questions regarding on Google spider. Many people are saying that "Google spiders only have US IP address." Is this really true? But I also saw video from Google's offical blog and it said "Google spider come from all around the world." At this point I am really confused. Q1) I researched and it seems like Google spiders have only US IP address. THen what does exactly mean by "Google spider come from all around the world."? Q2) If Google spider have only US IP address, what happen to site which use IP delivery? Is this means that Google spider always redirect to us site since they only have US IP? Can anyone help me to understand?? One more questions! When Google analyzing for cloaking issue, do you think Google analyze when spider crawls the site or after they crawled the site?

Google rankings tanked....Now what?
We just experience a drop in Google rankings, some pretty harsh, across all of the keywords we have been ranking greater than 50. I’m a noob at SEO, but a technical noob so I started doing my home work. I’ve seen references to the “google dance” and “Honeymoon”, but this hit seems to have effected competitors too. Everyone seems re-ranked with several junk directories jumping up more than I think they should. Has anyone else seen this? Is this more Google algorithm adjustment or a natural settling based on our new SEO attempts? In either case, what should we do next? I know there is a holistic approach and everything is important however, we need bang for the buck at this point to before we start bleeding. One or two next steps? Our industry is residential cleaning and the site is www.bitabliss.com Here is a little history:
Technical SEO | | BitABliss
The site that’s been running for about 2 years. We initially put up a very basic “throw something up” site without much thought of SEO except for some basics and a long tail approach with a blog, FaceBook and Twitter. We launched an updated site on Feb 23. with new theme and this time some, “on page” work to better hit the basics. The site structure was kept the same and we added on some more localized content in hopes to take advantage of local searches. Also, enter SEOMoz to get us tracking things (Yay MOZ). Until yesterday, we had been doing pretty well in some of our target cites even with the more basic site. When we launched the new site focusing on page titles, descriptions and page content, and a few directory attempts. We started to see some incremental growth. It seemed to me that this kind of growth meant that we were doing the right things and doing a better job than some of the other sites. Any way, yesterday we got smacked down. This seems too harsh for a for the slow increases we have seen over the last month. Any thoughts you have would be great appreciated. Thanks! -Shawn1
