Broad Match Modifier - Adwords Experts
-
Hi All,
Looking for a little feedback from anyone running/managing ppc campaigns.
I'm trying to decide if Broad Match Modifier search terms are actually helping. I see many instances where they have a low quality score, high cpc and low CTR. This leads to me think that these terms are actually bringing all my other ads down due to these negative signs.
I have most search terms as "Phrase Match" and [Exact Match] so i'm not sure why i need the Broad Match + Modifier terms as well.
Looking for some advice from the experts ... Do you guys agree with my assessment and what is your overall opinion on the usefulness of Broad Match Modifier terms.
Thanks

Hi,
This is the reason that I suggest you to create a separate ad group for BMM keywords only in which you have to add exact match and phrase match query as negative keyword so you can measure the performance of only BMM.
If it is still not clear to you please let me know I will explain you by giving example.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Thanks for the input - I understand how BMM works and that my ads will show for more queries...
My question is how do you see the performance of the BMM term as opposed to the Phrase and Exact matches?
Do you ever notice a search term should be pulling an exact match but instead it pulls the BMM?
-
I find the BMM keywords to be very useful, that is providing you monitor and negative those erroneous keywords that trigger wrongful searches. With BMM you get as Alick300 mentioned a broader spread with those keywords needing to be included, as such they could be found when your exact is entered the other way round if two words or if the phrase is much longer but still contains all keywords.
For me the best tool to compliment BMM is your negative list so over time your campaign becomes more and more accurate with scope for your CTR, and CPC to improve.

Hi,
First of all if you pick broad match modifier keywords you will reach broader audience with some controls. I use BMM keywords in my campaign and that is giving me significant number of conversions. As far as QS , CTR and CPC is concerns in my case all are good in my case.
IMO you should create a separate Ad group for BMM keywords in which add exact match and phrase match as negative keywords so your ad trigger for only BMM and keep checking search terms and if find irrelevant search terms add thoise search terms as negative keywords.
You can check it for 1-2 months then you can decide whether BMM perfoming well or not if not you can pause those ad groups.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

304 "If Modified Header" Triggers Error in Google Ads?
We have a client who is launch some Google Ads campaigns, and they recently asked us to fix 304 "Errors" on their website as per this feedback: "When we inspected the website we came across a number of 304 status errors. In order to get the ads running, we will need all of the website domain status codes converted to 200. “ Of course, all of their website pages return a 200 Status, it's just the HTTP headers that additionally clarify with a 304 Response (not an error). Has anyone else ever run into this issue with Google Ads? IMHO it makes no sense to remove this functionality. Google has even recommended in the past to use this it: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2008/11/date-with-googlebot-part-ii-http-status.html Thanks for any tips or feedback!

Do IP and/or DNS changes impact Paid search (Adwords, Bing, etc.)
What impact (if any) does IP or DNS changes, have on paid search campaigns? We recently performed an upgrade to our sites that required a datacenter change (but within the same region East US) and DNS change. We believe there may have been an impact to our ad campaigns in the form of suppression of our ads following the change, specifically - Google Adwords. Is there any information regarding this issue or has anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Adding AdWords Remarketing Pixel to "Partner" Domains?
I have read through the AdWords advertising policies, but there isn't an extremely clear answer to my question: does it break AdWords policy to include a remarketing pixel on a partner website? Example - I own and run 123boats.com, my acquaintance who owns abchotels.com has agreed to put my remarketing pixel on his website, and I plan to show remarketing ads to his website visitors advertising my services at 123boats.com. Is anyone aware of any documentation that explicitly allows or disallows this type of "partner" remarketing tracking?

Adwords Bidding
I'm just reaching out to get some help with regards to Adwords bidding. I find we are great at comprehensively setting up a campaign but struggle to know exactly what to do regarding setting the bid at the right amount for a keyword. Our current strategy is to maximise Impression share for keywords and therefore we generally look to endeavour to adjust bids to maximize this metric. Is there are good process to use for Adwords bidding or something someone can direct me to in order to uncover the things to consider when adjusting this bidding amount?

Adwords Express Placement and Explanation
I spoke with the adwords express rep about this, and he was extremely vague and unhelpful. So, I'd appreciate some assistance...even though it's a lot of questions. Whatever insights you can share to any portion of this, i would greatly appreciate. We setup an adwords express account, and we set our budget $50 over what Adwodrds Express says was our competitors average range. However, our ads only show up on the bottom right side of page 2. We are trying to figure out why that is? Are adwords express accounts only placed on the lower tier of PPC by definition? Will they always be on the bottom of a sidebar on the second page? Does it depend on how much we are willing to pay a month? So, if we double what we are willing to pay per month, will the ad move up? Also, it's not clear to me at all, how much we are being charged per click or how we are being billed. How are they determining what each click costs? Happy Friday and thanks in advance, Ruben

Curious about Adwords keyword tool results.
Why the Google Adwords Keywords tool says there are 0 local monthly searches for a keyword or shows a dash, but in spite of this there's competition for those keywords (up to 0.42 in some cases) ? Thanks!!
