Hi
Our company has a Facebook page - it's pretty outdated and barely used. I want to change that, but wondered if anyone had any advice on how to start it up again?
It hasn't been used for a while, so how do you start off with your first post? Or do you act like you have been there the whole time... probably not the best idea.
We don't want to confuse people or look stupid with the first post. I want it to be regularly used for content, community building and demonstrating the personality of the company.

I'd say your gut feeling is right - in fact, you may want your first post to be a simple "apology" for being absent due to being busy (or something to that effect), and alerting people that from now on you'll be posting often. Address the issue, and present the solution you've already come to.

Curious as we have used http://commun.it for twitter accounts, but gets tedious as we need to log in on several different accounts, although great service Also use Hootsuite but reporting is terrible ... Social Icons Link to Inner Pages
We have the social icons (facebook, twitter, youtube etc) in the footer of our homepage linked to inner pages instead of our actual social accounts. So, if you click on the facebook icon you go to one of our inner pages talking about our facebook profile and why to like us on facebook. Then on this inner page you can get to our facebook profile. We do this so we can pass on PR juice from our homepage to our inner page, and not lose it right off our front page. Is this a good idea? Or does it just confuse users? Most people think when they click on a facebook icon they will go to an actual facebook profile. Value in content from website being shared across social media?
I asked this question a couple of days ago. Would be great if anyone has some good insight: I write content on my site, which I immediately share across Twitter, FB and Google+. Will Google view me as active on social media with this onsite content I distribute across social media sites (basically creating duplicate info across social media, which already is on my site) or will I be seen as less active on social media since I do not write original content on the social media sites, but rather use content from my site and distribute across social media.

About Onlywire, stumbleupon ans social medias?
Hi, 1/I want to ask do you use onlywire service for you websites? Is it beneficial for a web site? 2/ Can Google see so many links from different social medias after you use onlywre as a spam (coming immediately every time you put new url in onlywire) or as something positive, especially for a website which doesn't have so many links from different web site per day? 3/ Do you think stumbleupon, delicious.com, etc are all helpful for SEO of a website and have influence in Google ranking? I know about facebook, twitter but there are so many social media websites and is it worth to have accounts all there and post the same stuff? Thank you 🙂

Anyone use the new "Social Settings" in Google Analytics?
In the past couple of months, Google rolled out a tab called "Social Settings" in the Admin area (see image). It's an optional setting, and Google is rather vague about what it does. GA already tracks social in "Traffic Sources," so what is the advantage of using Social Settings? If you've used these new settings, what have your experiences been? Were the settings helpful?
