Anyone know of a free keyword monitoring tool?
-
I need a free hosted keyword monitoring tool to monitor several thousand keywords. It would also be beneficial to have domain monitoring also for monitoring competitors.
All ideas very welcome...

If you want a tool that's more comprehensive & tracks a large group of your target keywords and competitors why not pay for it? Companies that put out good tools like that need to pay for server space and development time (which isn't cheap), so most will only give you a small taste of the program when you're on a free plan. Several thousand keywords means you're asking for a pretty large chunk of space to be dedicated to your project, so you'll have to pay to have meaningful data.
I just looked a Rank Tracker from Link Assistant, and that looks like a pretty good tool; you're not going to get much out of the free plan though. Sure you can run ranking checks, but you won't be able to save the results to compare over time and you won't be able to export. If that's $125 for a lifetime license, I'd say that's a pretty good deal. You could also check out SERPwoo for some affordable keyword tracking plans.

Try Rank Tracker from Link Assistant.

How many keywords should each of my pages realistically be targeting?
Hi All, I run a small bank's website and we're currently in the process of organising a site rebuild. Whilst this will be extensive and have many SEO factors to tick off, my concern now is to get a "realistic" number of keywords each of my pages should be targeting. For instance for my car loan page i've done a review on moz's keyword tool and have picked 3 or 4 good keywords - but the problem is there are realistically 7-8 that would suit. Also this is based on Bing's info only. Can anybody point me in the right direction (or have some google confirmed resource they can quote me) Cheers as always 🙂 Dave

Tool to bulk check outbound links
Hi. I have a list of 50 domains I need to check for links to three different sites. Does anybody know an easy way to do this? The best solution I have found so far is to crawl each with Screaming Frog and search for the domains, but I can only do one at a time this way. Some way to speed it up would be great!

A- Merge new to main website with 301's? will google like that? B- Keep them separate? Will google like that? C- Don't bother. D- Toss the computer and get into Horticulture

Is the Tool Forcing Sites to Link Out?
Hi I have a tool that I wish to give to sites, it allows the user to get an accurate idea of their credit score with out giving away any personal data and with out having a credit search done on their file. Due to the way the tool works and to make the implementation on other peoples sites as simple as possible the tool remains hosted by me and a one line piece of Javascript code just needs to be added to the code of the site wishing to use the tool. This code includes a link to my site to call the information from my server to allow the tool to show and work on the other site. My questions are: Could this cause a problem with Google as far as their link quality goes? - Are we forcing people to give us a backlink to use the tool? (in the eyes of Google) or will Google not be able to read the Javascript / will ignore the link for SEO purposes? Should I make the link in the code Nofollow? If I should make the link a Nofollow any tips on how to make the most of the opportunity from a link building or SEO point of view? Thanks for your help

Webmaster Tools Internal Links
Hi all, I have around 400 links in the navigation menu (site-wide) and when I use webmaster tools to check for internal links to each page; some have as many as 250K and some as little as 200. Shouldn't the number of internal links for pages found in the navigation menu be relatively the same? Or is Google registering more internal links for pages linked closer to the top of the code Thanks!
