Your connection is not private

I have a site that is not supposed to have a security certificate but if I go to https://www.mysite.com I get the message below
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.mysite.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID_<label>Automatically report details of possible security incidents to Google. </label>_
-
Maybe your hosting also include certificate for your site and support secure connection too. But since you didn't enable this visitors may get other site (yeah, that's right!) and also invalid certificate (because certificate mismatch with domain).
Isn't great situation, but you can check your site with https:// and disable it on your hosting control panel.

That's a pretty typical message a browser will display when a security certificate is either set up incorrectly or it expired. A big reason why these messages are shown are because of phishing scams that typically happen from sites attempting to display security to a user when in fact they are only looking to steal info. Not all sites are like that, but it is a concern.
_NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID _means the certificate is not registered with a valid authority. Check where the certificate was registered and make sure it's valid. If it's self signed, i'm not sure what steps you would need to take to get that resolved... I'll do some googling, but someone with a little more experience should chime in to help
Update: Found this google product forum thread which might help - https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/95NrJOxJKSg/0KyeuTNlbj0J

Website ranking declined after connecting to CDN
Hi! We are trying to rank https://windowmart.ca for various local search terms. Our head office is in Edmonton where we try to rank https://windowmart.ca/edmonton-windows-doors/ for such terms as "windows Edmonton", "replacement windows Edmonton", "windows and doors Edmonton" as well as others. The website was the leader in its niche for around 2 years. Then we've got some server related issues, moved to a new server and connected CDN Nitropack that really improved our google speed test results. Recently we noticed that our rankings started to drop. Do you know if Nitropack can negatively effect local SEO rankings? Thank you!

Half of my site is private for members only, should I use the Nofollow on these pages?
I'm trying to increase more traffic to my website. However half of my website is for members only and you have to be logged in to see content on those pages. I'm confused on whether I should use "nofollow" on these pages or not.

Connecting long tail keywords to pages
New to Moz and this forum, so be gentle. 🙂 I’m in the process of overhauling a generally neglected website and have just finished some research on long tail keywords. My question is, how do I implement these? For example, I’ve got a product “Acme Widget” which has its own page on the site (and ranking well for the product name itself). I have lots of long tail keyword sets which describe key benefits of the products – some of which appear in the product copy, others which don’t (perhaps because the thing that a user may search for is ugly/bad-English in copy). For the sake of argument, let’s say I have the following long tail keywords for my Acme Widgets. cheap red widget los angleles widget strong green widgets florida What is the best way to implement these? Do I need to simply incorporate the text into my main Acme Widgets page, or do I need to have separate pages which are highly targeted to each long tail keyword? The problem with the former is unnatural/ugly copy. The problem with the latter is that coming up with enough content to justify (and rank) a page on each keyword set would be quite a challenge. Regards,

"non-WWW" vs "WWW" in Google SERPS and Lost Back Link Connection
A Screaming Frog report indicates that Google is indexing a client's site for both: www and non-www URLs. To me this means that Google is seeing both URLs as different even though the page content is identical. The client has not set up a preferred URL in GWMTs. Google says to do a 301 redirect from the non-preferred domain to the preferred version but I believe there is a way to do this in HTTP Access and an easier solution than canonical.

https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/44231?hl=en GWMTs also shows that over the past few months this client has lost more than half of their backlinks. (But there are no penalties and the client swears they haven't done anything to be blacklisted in this regard. I'm curious as to whether Google figured out that the entire site was in their index under both "www" and "non-www" and therefore discounted half of the links. Has anyone seen evidence of Google discounting links (both external and internal) due to duplicate content? Thanks for your feedback. Rosemary0 -
Does incomplete or private WHOIS information have negative effect on SEO?
I wondered if having incomplete WHOIS information has a negative effect on rankings? Also I know it's possible to keep WHOIS information private, so I wondered if google would think this suspicious and rank a site not as highly as it should? Thanks!

Server Connectivity
Hey there When we go to our webmaster tools there is a orange triangle. The issue is that Google's robot can not access our site. Does anyone know why this could be? Thanks!

How much of an issue is it if a site is somehow connected to a site that was penalized by Google?
I am working with someone that is about to launch a new site, and one of the sites was affected by the Panda update. Does it matter if the two sites are connected? Share the same hosting provider and same Google Webmaster's account?

Do search engines still index/crawl private content?
If you have a membership site, which requires a payment to access specific content/images/videos, do search engines still use that content as a ranking/domain authority factor? Is it worth optimizing these "private" pages for SEO?
