SEO for a a static content website
-
Hi everyone,
We would like to ask suggestions on how to improve our SEO for our static content help website.
With the release of each new version, our company releases a new "help" page, which is created by an authoring system. This is the latest page: http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/
I have a couple of questions:
1- The page has an index with many links that open up new subpages with content for users. It is impossible to add title tags to this subpages, as everything is held together by the mother page. So it is really hard to for users to find these subpage information when they are doing a google search.
2- We have previous "help" pages which usually rank better in google search. They also have the same structure (1 page with big index and many subpages) and no metadata. We obviously want the last version to rank better, however, we are afraid exclude them from bots search because the new version is not easy to find.
These are some of the previous pages:

http://kilgray.com/memoq/62/help-en/
I would really appreciate suggestions!
Thanks

Can you redirect the old help pages to the new help pages? Or are the old pages still present because people are still referring to them for old versions of the software?
Do you have any flexibility to change the help page Content Management System or coding? The HTML frames being used are antiquated and a waste of your time to try and support.
Can you edit the HTML of the subpages that are within the frames? Those HTML pages have sections and you should be able to set the <title>within them like any other HTML page. They will possibly get indexed with URLs such as <a href="http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/memoq_help_title_page.html">http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/memoq_help_title_page.html</a> even though they will get redirected to <a href="http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/index.html?memoq_help_title_page.html">http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/index.html?memoq_help_title_page.html</a>.</p></title>

Hi,
A couple of questions/thoughts:
1 -- It is difficult to imagine adding title tags would be impossible, though I could understand there may be some challenges. Is it that you are opposed to moving to a different system/platform for managing this content? This is an important challenge that needs to be overcome.
2 -- Are the old help pages still relevant? If so, it might make sense to move those to an "archive" directory, and update all of the existing URLs with the help content for the latest version. e.g.. http://kilgray.com/memoq/latest/help-en This way your aged URLs always contain the latest help content. On each page, you could simply have an option list of the links to the section/pages for the various older versions, and have the most recent version selected when the page loads. While you address #1 above, you can look into having placeholders created for canonical tags so you can reference the most recent version from the, assumed to likely be very similar, older version pages.

Hi, Are there any implications of having a parallax website and the URL not changing as you scroll down the page? So basically the whole site is under the same URL? However, when you click on the menu the URL does change? Cheers

Dulpicate Content being reported
Hi I have a new client whose first MA crawl report is showing lots of duplicate content. The main batch of these are all the HP url with an 'attachment' part at the end such as: www.domain.com/?attachment_id=4176 As far as i can tell its some sort of slide show just showing a different image in the main frame of each page, with no other content. Each one does have a unique meta title & H1 though. Whats the best thing to do here ? Not a problem and leave as is Use the paremeter handling tool in GWT Canonicalise, referencing the HP or other solution ? Many Thanks Dan

SEO impact classifieds website
Hi, I'm part of an organization running a classifieds platform in Spain. (Mercadonline.es) We are hit by Google penalties since a few weeks, possibly caused by numerous errors we are experiencing. Most frequent errors are 404's and duplicate content (titles tags etc) since the nature of our website is dynamic. Many ads change daily, are added or removed, causing Googlebots (and others) to flag us and not being able to see our more unique content. Until what part of our platform should we be indexed? Since we have +34,000 pages indexed (mostly due to internal filter pages) I would need a systematic solution for us to display relevant and unique content, with enough usage of keywords that can bring us back up - we are actually ranked <50 on google for most of our main keywords. It is costing us precious time and money since we can only aquire our visitors (adwords etc) and not being to attract any organically. I can go in more detail with someone who can give me a bit more direction. Your answer is much appreciated! Ivor

Remotely Loaded Content
Hi Folks, I have a two part question. I'd like to add a feature to our website where people can click on an ingredient (we manufacture skin care products) and a tool-tip style box pops up and describes information about the ingredient. Because many products share some of the same ingredients, I'm going to load this data from a source file via AJAX. My questions are: Does this type of remotely-fetched content have any effect on how a search engines views and indexes the page? Can it help contribute to the page's search engine ranking? If there are multiple pages fetching the same piece of remotely-fetched content, will this be seen as duplicated content? Thanks! Hal

How do I resolve Twin domains? redirect website.com to www.website.com?
I am new to this website. Tried to run a campain and got a warning that website.com resolves to www.website.com which hinders SERP by competing for Keyword indexing!. (website is my domain name) Would appreciate help with this. Thanks. S.H. PS: here is the exact wording of error : We have detected that the domain www.yfvaccine.com and the domain yfvaccine.com both respond to web requests and do not redirect. Having two "twin" domains that both resolve forces them to battle for SERP positions, making your SEO efforts less effective. We suggest redirecting one, then entering the other here.

Duplicate content
I have just ran a report in seomoz on my domain and has noticed that there are duplicate content issues, the issues are: www.domainname/directory-name/ www.domainname/directory-name/index.php All my internal links and external links point to the first domain, as i prefer this style as it looks clear & concise, however doing this has created duplicate content as within the site itself i have an index.php page inside this /directory-name/ to show the page. Could anyone give me some advice on what i should do please? Kind Regards
