What happened to my links in Open Site Explorer.
-
Hello,
A while ago I had a problem with open site explorer saying that I had a problems with redirects on my home page. There was 302 redirect and it was giving me information from my www domain rather then from non www domain. With your awesome help, this issue is sorted now and when I type in my non www domain, it doesn't give me that weird message anymore.
I have a different issue now.
For some reason when I enter non www domain it doesn't show links from www version.
I presume that this is affecting my site authority for non www version. Does it mean that link juice was not passed on to non www version from www version? Authority dropped by two points, but I'm not sure why.
I'm more interested to know why it doesn't show my links from www version on non www version. And is that affecting my sites rankings.
Thank you,
Regards,
Armands

I have tried to ask here few times, but it is pretty hard to get any guidance on navigation issue. If you could send me some information maybe on what you charge per hour on skype consults? I totally lost in what to do with my menu navigations as I think they are a bit hot mess now. Side bar, main bar, dropdowns etc.
Thanks,
A

If just for advice - ask it here, on MOZ.

Sorry me again.
By any chance do you know someone very good in WP field to consult about website navigation options for desktops and mobile devices?
Thanks,

Sure, no problem.

Thank you very much Dmitrii for help. Thanks for pointing out redirects.
I will pass this onto my developer.

Ok, I see now.
No, you don't have to go back to www-version. What is happening to you is just a crawl delay. It takes a while for MOZbot to "realize" the redirect, especially if you have https.
Basically, just wait. It will be showing properly eventually.
P.S. I noticed you have extra redirect if i go to www.a-fotography.co.uk - it redirects to non-www first, then does another redirect to https. You can easily eliminate this in htaccess. Kinda best practice.

Thanks Dmitrii,
I used to have this message, but thought this is a bad thing and was suggested to redirect www version to non www version. My current site is non www version.
so it is a-fotografy.co.uk
Do you think I should revert this back to www version? Why would I need to do this? Bit confused.
Thanks,
A

Hi there.
Ok, so, what is supposed to be happening is after you type in your non-www version, it should give you message like this (see attachment):
You entered the URL http://regexseo.com/ which redirects to http://www.regexseo.com/. Because it's likely to have more accurate metrics, we're showing data for the redirected URL instead. Click here to analyze http://regexseo.com/ instead?
If this is not happening, make sure that your non-www version 301 redirects to www. If it does, but you have made this change recently, then you just gotta wait to allow mozbot to crawl this redirect.
As for DA drop, it can be relative. Make sure that whenever you look at DA changes, you look at competition as well. Read this post by Rand: https://moz.com/community/q/da-pa-fluctuations-how-to-interpret-apply-understand-these-ml-based-scores
Hope this helps.

Can I check outbound links from a website?
Hi! Is there an easy way to check if a certain domain has a link to my domain. Is there something similar to "checking outbound links" on a website?

Moz Pro: Linking RDs to Page much lower than Google Search Console
I'm trying to use the Analyze Keyword tool in Moz Pro, and in the SERP Analysis table, my page has a PA of one, and zero root domains linking to it. If I look at the page in Google Search console, it says I have 229 root domains linking to the page from well known domains like github.com, meetup.com, stackoverflow.com, etc. This particular keyword has been tracked in Moz for the last 6 months, but I just noticed that it was extremely low. I am relatively new to Moz, so forgive me if I sound confused, but can someone explain to me how the numbers can be so low?

Inbound Links - How accurate or up-to-date is Open Site Explorer?
When I type my domain into OSE I get a list of linking domains. Most of them I have seen before and I know were active last year. However, when I click through, many of these links have been removed (which is what I wanted/requested) and some of the pages return 404. Google (via link:www.mydomain.com) doesn't show these links as active either. My question is why does OSE show them? Thanks

Thousands of Missing Links in OSE Report
Hi there, Moz reports 70k+ external links pointing to my site but when I use the Open Site Explorer to export all links, I only see 9,000+ I have tried combining different combinations of fields ('this root domain', 'this subdomain', 'all links' etc) but can never see more than 9,000 links. My website does redirect to www. and have a couple of subdomains, the report for non www. only shows around 120 external links. We also use Ahrefs and the crawl reports here display 40k+ links (on the dashboard and when exported) which makes me believe the problem is not with my website but rather OSE. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks, Jason

Are Just Discovered Links Reports Working?
I can't find my 4 month old site in Open Site Explorer. But as the site has had all of its posts tweeted I checked the Just Discovered Links reports to see if it was mentioned there. My domain is http://www.genesisclub.training but the problem is that if I target "this root domain" - I get a bunch of links that are nothing to do with my site. For example the root domain report includes sites linking to www.tinmagpie.training www.goahead.training powerquery.training http://videoproduction.training http://www.eti.training http://linkedinsales.training and more, as sites linking to my root domain. In which universe? The Just Discovered algorithm looks like it isn't coping with the .training TLD. It is treating my domain as if it were genesisclub.training.com so now anything.training is in my root domain.

Open Site Explorer results are not satisfactory.. is there any issue with it?

Competitor URL : goo.gl/xMXHk7 Results provided by OSE : Number of Internal Links : 23 Number of External Links : 100 While the external backlinks provided by other free tools are quite different and more in numbers.. and here I am paying to get accurate data.. Just wanted to confirm whether I am using this tool improperly, or any issue is going with this tool? C6JPxGE
