Url design for automobile parts
-
Hi All,
Im designing the url and im confused, need your experts advice
engine-oil is a category I will display car truck, bike oils only
Car > in this page I will display engine oils only related to car
Hyundia> in this page I will display engine oils only related to hyundia
i30 > in this page I will display engine oils only related to i30 models
Petrol > in this page I will display engine oils only related to petrolSo im planning for www.xyz.com/engine-oil/car/Hyundia/i30/Petrol
or should I write like this below
xyz.com/c-engine-oil.html
xyz.com/c-car-engine-oil.html
xyz.com/c-hyundia--car-engine-oil.html
xyz.com/c-hyundia-i30-car-engine-oil.html
xyz.com/c-hyundia-i30-Petrol-car-engine-oil.htmland also i heard i should keep 3 folders max.. so confused..
i have lot of car parts like engine oil, gear oil, tyres, battery, etc(categories) -
It's definitely not considered keyword stuffing but if you prefer a shorter URL then use the second option.
-
Thanks.. Dont you feel
xyz.com/car/engine-oil/hyundai-i30-engine-oil
engine oil is keyword stuffing here as used 2twice? or
this will be better

It is also going to depend how your CMS handles this. If it was me I would start by having categories for Motorcycles, Cars and Trucks (naming could depend on best keywords), then have the sub category (Engine Oil, Batteries, Tyres) followed by the product.
An example of this would look like:
If you have a lot of content and want to rank for Hyundai i30 car engine products you could have a page for that too.
Just set up the structure in a way you can expand on.

What to do with parameter urls?
We have a ton of ugly parameter urls that are coming up in google, in semrush, etc. What do we do with them? I know they can cause issues. EX https://www.hibbshomes.com/wp-content/themes/highstand/assets/js/cubeportfolio/js/jquery.cubeportfolio.min.js?ver=6.3

What would cause these ⠃︲蝞韤諫䴴SPপ emblems in my urls?
In Search Console I am getting errors under other. It is showing urls that have this format- https://www.site.com/Item/654321~SURE⠃︲蝞韤諫䴴SPপ.htm When clicked it shows 蝞韤諫䴴SPপ instead of the % stuff. As you can see this is an item page and the normal item page pulls up fine with no issues. This doesn't show it is linked from anywhere. Why would google pull this url? It doesn't exist on the site anywhere. It is a custom asp.net site. This started happening in mid May but we didn't make any changes then.

Why is this SERP displaying an incorrect URL for my homepage?
The full URL of a particular site's homepage is something like http://www.example.com/directory/.

The canonical and og URLs match.
The root domain 301 redirects to it using the absolute path. And yet the SERP (and the cached version of the page) lists it simply as http://www.example.com/. What gives? Could the problem be found at some deeper technical level (.htaccess or DirectoryIndex or something?) We fiddled with things a bit this week, and while our most recent changes appear to have been crawled (and cached), I am wondering whether I should give it some more time before I proceed as if the SERP won't ever reflect the correct URL. If so, how long? [EDIT: From the comments, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8QKIweOzH4#t=2838]0 -
How careful do you need to be about changes to readable URLs?
We are moving to Sitecore where the standard out the box is that if you change page title it amends the URL as well. I am worried that this will lead to SEO issues and am considering whether we need to get it locked down so that if the page title is amended (only in a minor way) it does not also change the URL. I have never worked with readable URLs before - what are the implications of the URL not exactly matching the wording of the page title?

Canonical Issue with urls
I saw some urls of my site showing duplicate page content, duplicate page title issues on crawl reports. So I have set canonical url for every urls , that has dupicate content / page title. But still SeoMoz crawl test is showing issue. I am giving here one url with issue. The below given urls shown duplicate content and duplicate page title with some other urls all are given below. Checked URL http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7635 dup page content http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7622&category_id=270&colors=Black_Tones&click=colors&ci=1

http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7622 dup page Title http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7636&category_id=270&sizes=12x15,12x18&click=sizes
http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7636
http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7622&category_id=270&colors=Black_Tones&click=colors&ci=1
http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7622 But I have set canonical url for all these urls already , that is :- http://www.cyrusrugs.com/bridge-traditional-area-rug-item-7622 This should actually solve the problem right ? Search engine should identify the canonical url as original url and only should consider that. Thanks0 -
URLs are not indexed
My website has 0.5 million pages with urls like this- **http://www.mycity4kids.com/Delhi-NCR/collage-painting-classes-%3cnear%3e-shalimar-bagh ****, **none of these urls are indexed. Question 1- What can be the possible reason for this issue? Users see this url as : http://www.mycity4kids.com/Delhi-NCR/collage-painting-classes-<near>-shalimar-bagh</near>

The symbol "<" and ">" get converted into "%3c" and "%3e" respectively, is this the reason for these urls not getting indexed?0 -
Switching Url
I started working with a Roofer/Contractor about a year ago. His website is http://www.lancasterparoofing.com/. The name of his business is Spicher Home Improvements. He used to have spicherhomeimprovements.com, well he still does. He was focusing on Roofing and Siding but now would like to branch to other areas like Interior remodeling. So adding interior work under LancasterPaRoofing.com is not applicable. I do not think starting another domain and having two is the best option. I think he should go back to using SpicherHomeImprovements.com and I assume he would take a small hit but in time he should be better off. Plus the url is more applicable to the real name of his business. Thanks for any feedback I receive. Chad

Changing a URL structure within a site
Im moving a page over from www.domain.com/page to www.domain/category/page currently www.domain.com/page is ranking in google. Would a 301 do the job? is there anything else needed to help keep SE positions?
