Why there is high DA for blank brand new sites?
-
I bought a domain name directly from the registrar 1 year ago. This Domain name has a very good combination of words and .biz extension. I didn't really do anything, I have default wordpress and GA installation. Now I check this site with Moz Bar and OSE and see it has 9DA and 21PA. How come?
Quick Facts:
- Since October last year it has 1000 hits.
- 9 external links - all links from random domain directories/listings
Any ideas how brand new domain name with no original content can have DA9 not DA1?

I'd also like to point out that I too have come across a new competitor who just popped in with a new url / site and started out ranking us on our major keywords. I mean page 2 right off the bat, when I audited their site, I saw:
- many 404s,
- bad link structure but good enough to function,
- a shoty backlink campaign that was using a SEO company's site 7 times for various keywords just to rank, and had one actual backlink that would be considered whitehat.
The end result after watching them enjoy page 2 for 2 months, was one day while scanning the SERPs found them not on page 2 but on page 9, then they popped back to page 2 three days later. About 2 weeks later, they were page 10 and still are. Seems the got hit or google caught on to their backlink fun.
Stay whitehat, stay busy / productive and always push forward! Slow and steady does win the race.

Oh yeah, definitely then. If it's gone through previous owners, there's bound to be a few links still pointing at your domain out there on the web. Even when a domain isn't currently under ownership, it still retains some of that authority it gained from when its website was still live. That's why so many people pay more for previously owned domains with lots of backlinks; they don't have to start from scratch.
-
Do you think this can be the main reason why?
-
It may have been previously owned and have acquired some backlinks then. Have you looked into the domain's history?

Internal Equity-Passing Links not getting crawled in Moz Open Site Explorer?
Internal Equity-Passing Links not getting crawled in Moz Open Site Explorer. What is the cause of this? We've checked the robots.txt and htaccess file, but so far we can't find anything that would be blocking Moz from crawling the internal links. We manage loads of other clients on this platform and this is the first time we've run into this issue. What else can I check?

Mozbar have no PA and DA within the bar for the last week.
I don't know how technical I need to get here, but the mozbar has shown no data for PA and DA for over a week now. Also, the bar tells me to login within the search query version of the mozbar... Even after I have logged in many times and the cach remembers me on the login page. I would love some assistance here from Moz directly.
