Would adding and abbreviation to a title hurt?

I have been trying to figure this out- https://moz.com/community/q/what-should-i-do-with-old-e-commerce-item-pages
I added n/a to the end of the page titles so I could figure out how these pages were performing. Since I added them my organic traffic has seemed to have dropped. It has only been a few days so maybe it is an anomaly. Everything else has stayed the same, would this cause an organic traffic drop?

That was kind of my thought as well but with the drop in traffic I have to look at everything. SO strange.

It's unlikely that changing title tags would have an impact on traffic to pages whose title tags hadn't been changed; and adding a few characters to the end of a title tag isn't something I'd expect to have a negative impact on traffic, either. It's likely that they are unrelated.

We only changed it on item pages and traffic dropped on both item and category pages.

You said "Since I added them my organic traffic has seemed to have dropped". Organic traffic to those exact pages? or other pages? You should be able to see it in Google Analytics under landing pages.
The only thing I can think of is that organic traffic is directly related to rankings, so, have you seen drop in rankings? were those pages you changed ranking for many keywords?

Page title and slug as complements to one another?
When creating a page, is it ever worthwhile to ensure that there's minimal duplication in the keywords in the page title vs. the slug? Or is it more like the title is more like a sentence description of the page and the slug is a scannable set of keywords that describes the page, and duplication doesn't really matter.

Will multiple domains for the same local business hurt its rankings?
If I have a mold removal client who has domain1.com, which is several years old, and he creates a new domain2.com with the same info (reworded), but changes over the citations to domain2 will it 1. lower domain1.com's rankings? 2. make ranking either site harder since there are now 2 sites for the same thing? 3. reduce the ability for either site to gain a higher domain authority since links can now go to either

If other websites implement our RSS feed sidewide on there website, can that hurt our own website?
Think about the switching anchors from the backlinks and the 100s of sidewide inlinks... I gues Google will understand that it's just a RSS feed right?

Dropped 50 places for Page Title Change
Hey Guys, I've got a keyword set that is really annoying me. You see on the 19th July I changed my page title for the home page to what I thought would be something more competitive and instead of climbing from rank 9/10 I dropped out of the top 50. So I waited 2 weeks to see if it changed and it just stayed out of the top 50. After two weeks I changed it back again and I've been out of the top 50 ever since. I havnt made any real significant changes to the site as I've held off waiting for the keyword ranking to return but I dont think it will. I was trying to improve the keyword phrase "bahamas all inclusive" for the website www.smallhope.com. I'd managed to get on to page 1 rank 9/10 depending. I changed the title; from "Bahamas All Inclusive - Andros Bahamas Hotel - Bahamas Vacation - Small Hope Bay Lodge All-Inclusive" to "Bahamas All Inclusive Vacation - Small Hope Bay Lodge All-Inclusive" This is really bad for us and I'm not sure what to do. I had a whole plan in place starting with the Title and moving on to the H1 tags, but now I'm not so sure. I've put everything on hold. If this was you what would you do to get back to page 1? WIll Splash Page Triggered Only for iPhones Hurt SEO
Background We are in the process of launching a website where ticket inventory and processing are handled by a third party. Our primary means of traffic generation (at least at first) will be through SEO traffic. One of the things that they require of us is a script that will detect people with an iPhone and, upon entering the site, display a page giving people the option to call for help or continue to the site. (see attached screenshot) We will still get credit for the transaction (tracked through the phone #) and they say that this increases conversion rate, so it is something that we would like to use, unless it will affect our ability to rank in mobile. Problem My concern is that we will be penalized by Google (or rank poorly in Mobile search) because the page that iPhone users (not iPad users) are served is hosted on a different domain and not optimized at all for the keywords people are searching for. This is obviously a non-issue if Google never sees the page, but I have heard that Google will emulate different devices when crawling pages. Question Can anyone provide any insight about this? I feel like we are adding value to customers by giving them the option to speak to customer support, but I'm afraid that Google will think we are cloaking or at best providing the same page to anyone entering with an iPhone. Does title text of homepage effect ranking of sub pages?
Question is pretty much summed up in the title. I realize that title text on a specific page can effect the ranking of that page. But what I'm getting a feeling of lately is that google uses the title text of your homepage to effect the ranking of the site on a whole. Thoughts?

Does having a high number of reciprocal links hurt you?
