Error 404 Search Console
-
Hi all,
We have a number of 404 https status listed in Search Console even treated, not decrease. What happened:
- We launched a website with the urls www.meusite.com/url-abc.
- We launched these urls sitemap.
- Google has indexed.
... For some reason, the urls were changed four days later by some developer in my equipe. So
- I asked the redirection of URLs "old" already indexed to the new (of: / url-abc to / url-xyz) all correspondingly.
- I submit the sitemap with new urls.
- We fixed the internal links.
- And than marked as fixed in the Search Console.
But it does not work!
Has anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for the answer Bernadette Coleman.
Yes, it can be a Google issues. But the biggest problem is that the Google Adwords team, are trying to make ads with some urls , and some Urls are being blocked by Google Adwords.
Note: The URLs that are reproved are not on the console search sampling, do not have 404 http status or redirects. Are the final URLs with 200 https Status

It seems that the issue is with the URLs. When our system crawled, they resulted in 404 violations
Hence, I request you to check Google Webmaster tools to identify the issue. Also, I request you to speak with your development team to identify the issue.
Once the issue has been fixed, I kindly ask you to re-submit the ads in the account, which will cause our system to re-review them.About the 404 errors on console. I had already taken the 404 urls sampling console and tracked screaming frog:
246 urls Status 404
303 urls Status 200
459 urls status 30170% of URLs were corrected, were marked as corrected on console, but Google insists back them to the list.

This could be a Google issue. It takes some time for Google to "forget" about URLs they know about, so they may continue to crawl old URLs.
If you have redirected these URLs and they are not showing a 404 error, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I would still mark them as fixed in Google Search Console and then see if they come back again. I would also test those URLs randomly using the Googlebot user agent.
One thing you can do, however, is to crawl those URLs yourself using Screaming Frog or another similar spider tool. Make sure you have the user agent set as Googlebot just to make sure that you're seeing what Google might potentially see. When you crawl, you should see the redirects. If not, then you will need to look into why you're seeing a 404 error.

My last site crawl shows over 700 404 errors all with void(0 added to the ends of my posts/pages.
Hello, My last site crawl shows over 700 404 errors all with void(0 added to the ends of my posts/pages. I have contacted my theme company but not sure what could have done this. Any ideas? The original posts/pages are still correct and working it just looks like it did duplicates and added void(0 to the end of each post/page. Questions: There is no way to undo this correct? Do I have to do a redirect on each of these? Will this hurt my rankings and domain authority? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Wade

Does site size (page count) effect search ranking?
If a company has a handful of large sites that function as collection of unique portals into client-specific content (password protected), will it have any positive effect on search ranking to migrate all of the sites to one URL structure.

Duplicate page content errors stemming from CMS
Hello! We've recently relaunched (and completely restructured) our website. All looks well except for some duplicate content issues. Our internal CMS (custom) adds a /content/ to each page. Our development team has also set-up URLs to work without /content/. Is there a way I can tell Google that these are the same pages. I looked into the parameters tool, but that seemed more in-line with ecommerce and the like. Am I missing anything else?

Why are Pages returning 404 errors not being dropped?
Our webmaster tools continues to return anywhere upwards of 750 pages that have 404 errors. These are from pages of a previous site no longer used. However this was over 1 year ago these pages were dropped along with the 301 re-directs. Why is Google not clearing these from webmaster tools but re-listing them again after 3 month cycle? Is it because external sites have links to these pages? If so should I put a 301 in place (most of these site are forums and potentially dodgy directories etc from previous poor link building programs) or ask for a manual removal?

Somthing weird in my Google Webmaster Tools Crawl Errors...
Hey, I recently (this past may) redesigned my e-commerce site from .asp to .php. I am trying to fix all the old pages with 301 redirects that didn't make it in the switch, but I keep getting weird pages coming up in GWT. I have about 400 pages under crawl errors that look like this "emailus.php?id=MD908070" I delete them and they come back. my site is http://www.moondoggieinc.com the id #'s are product #'s for products that are no longer on the site, but the site is .php now. They also do not show a sitemap they are linked in or any other page that they are linked from. Are these hurting me? and how do I get rid of them? Thanks! KristyO

How can I penalise my own site in an international search?
Perhaps penalise isn't the right word, but we have two ecommerce sites. One at .com and one at .com.au. For the com.au site we would like only that site to appear for our brand name search in google.com.au. For the .com site we would like only that site to appear for our brand name search in google.com. I've targeted each site in the respective country in Google Webmaster Tools and published the Australian and English address on the respective site. What I'm concerned about is people on Google.com.au searching our brand and clicking through to the .com site. Is there anything I can do to lower the ranking of my .com site in Google.com.au?

Temporarily Delist Search Results
We have a client that we run campaign sites for. They have asked us to turn off our PPC and SEO in the short term so they can run some tests. PPC no problem straight forward action, but not as straight forward to just turn off SEO. Our campaign site is on Page 1, Position 4, 3 places below our clients site. They have asked us to effectively disappear from the landscape for a period of 1-2 months. Has anyone encountered this before, the ability to delist good SERP for a period of time? Details: Very small site with only 17 pages indexed within google, but home page has good SERP result. My issues are, How to approach this in the most effective manor? Once the delisting process is activated and the site/page disappears, then we reverse the process will we get back to where we were? Anyone encountered this before? I realise this is a ridiculous question and goes against SEO logic, get to page 1 results only to remove it, but hey, clients are always presenting new challenges for us to address..... Thanks
