On Page #2 of Bing But Nowhere on Google. Please Help !
-
Hi, community. I have a problem with the ranking of my blog and I hope anyone could help me to solve this problem.
I have been trying to rank my blog post for a keyword for almost 6 months but still getting no success.
My URL is: this blog post
Target keyword: best laptops for collegeThe interesting fact is that the post has been on page #2 of BING but nowhere on google.
It was on page #3 of google for about one month, but it's been 1-2 weeks gone(not ranked anymore but it's still well indexed). The post has been replaced by another post of my blog(let's say post A) which doesn't have any link. The Post A is ranking on page #4 right now.
The weird thing is my post which ranks for this keyword frequently changes. One day the Post A was on page#4 then after a few days it changed to the post B.Yesterday I searched on google for a keyword "number one on bing but nowhere on google" and then I
come across to read this article on MOZ community and one of the people here said that it was over optimization issue.I think my post has been suffering for an over optimization penalty algorithm.
Just for your information, I have been building backlinks to this URL for the last 5 months(it's 1+ year old).
It has backlinks only about 1,5k from 200 domains(according to ahref).
I have used the exact match anchor only under +/- 2%. The rest is branded, naked URL and generic anchors.
So, in this case, I thought that I haven't done any over anchor optimization.
I have checked the keyword density and I found it was "safe".One important thing I can remember before the post has gone is I add a backlink from lifehack.org(guest post) with exact match anchor.
I suspect this is really the cause because 2-3 days after doing that then the post is gone(dropped) and replaced by another post of my blog(as I've mentioned before). But it's very strange because the amount of the anchor keyword(including the long tail) is only about 10(from 200 domains) or only 5% which mean it should be safe.
I'm so Sorry. It's a long story So, What is actually happening to my post? and How to fix this problem...
Please..please help me... Any hep is appreciated. By the way, Sorry for my poor english..

No problem

Thanks a lot for your input. Now I'm trying to fix this issue..
-
Howdy.
Ok, so,
- Low moz trust is quite bad, and, of course, it goes back to backlinks - amount and quality
- 20 posts is not all links you might have, especially if you use wordpress. There are so many pages for all the subcategories, categories, archives, comments etc. You can check it in SEMRush or SEOFrog on how many pages you have.
- Ratio is based on current data MOZ has. since they don't have any backlinks in their system yet, that affects your spam score, and it would be fine, if you didn't mention that you have been building links for months. MOZ Scape updates every 30 days or so, therefore if you don't have any changes in backlink amounts after two months of building - ouch.
- As for permalink - make sure you have proper redirects from old ones. (not saying you don't have proper, just make sure)
- Read #3 - if links are not in MOZ system after a while from building links, there might be some issues somewhere.
Hope this helps

Hi Dmitrii..Thanks for your reply .. Yes, you have helped me by giving your idea and it really "opens my eyes", just like gives me some enlightenment..:) You're right, I agree on your thought.
However, I have some clarifications :
- In regard to the spam score is 5. According to MOZ ose my blog has the three red flags namely:
- Low moz trust or Moz Rank Score => this is true.I won't deny it.
- Large site with few links => this is so funny. My site has only 20 posts not a large site. Few links? Perhaps but ahref shows it has a few links from hundreds domains.
- Ratio of followed to nofollowed subdomain/domains=> this is also something questionable since according to ahrefs the percentage of dofollow backlink to nofollow backlinks about 86%: 14%. Is it a problem..?
-
Regarding the PA is only 1, I think MOZ takes time to count the backlinks and update the PA because actually I HAVE JUST CHANGED THE PERMALINK ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. The previous permalink has PA 19. Yes, it's low as well but at least not PA 1 which is very low.
-
You said "So, now you you don't have any "important" links". My question is: Doesn't MOZ consider some high quality dofollow backlinks from engadget and lifehack? What do you think..? Could Anyone clarify this issue? Thanks
-
Howdy. Here are my thoughts.
So, that post's PA is only 1 and DA is 18, spam score is 5 and no backlinks. Hmm.. Ahref's is good, sure, but if you've been building links for several months and there is still no data in moz - you are doiing something wrong. Think of Ahrefs as of all links (bad, good, neutral) and MOZ OSE as "important" links. So, now you you don't have any "important" links. Also high spam score tells me you probably used some yucky backlink building techniques. THerefore, even though the content, density and anchor text is good, backlinks still matter a whole lot.
Now, here is another reason to look into. If you look at results for your query - all domains have very high DA and a lot of backlinks and 0 spam score.
I believe that's your problem.
Hope this helps.

Why google is catching my website late
Hello, I hope you all guys are doing great. Recently, I published my over my website and within almost 10 mins, it was indexed completely and I also personally checked it in google search console. The URL was indexed but the problem is, it does not appear in Google Search. Sometimes in search result I notice Google shows a result who is published 10-30 mins ago but this is not the case with my website. All articles just show in Google SERP after 1-2 days. What can be the reason behind this, although DA, PA is good (28-31).

Any more info on potential Google algo update from April 24th/25th?
Apart from an article on Search Engine Roundtable, I haven’t been able to find anything out about the potential algorithm update that happened on Monday / Tuesday of this week. One of our sites (finance niche) saw drops in rankings for bad credit terms on Tuesday, followed by total collapse on Wednesday and Thursday. We had made some changes the previous week to the bad credit section of the site, but the curious thing here is that rankings for bad credit terms all over the site (not just the changed section) disappeared. Has anyone else seen the impact of this change, and are there any working theories on what caused it? I’m even wondering whether a specific change has been made for bad credit terms (i.e. the payday loan update)?

How does Google handle product detail page links hiden in a <noscript>tag?</noscript>
Hello, During my research of our website I uncovered that our visible links to our product detail pages (PDP) from grid/list view category-nav/search pages are <nofollowed>and being sent through a click tracking redirect with the (PDP) appended as a URL query string. But included with each PDP link is a <noscript>tag containing the actual PDP link. When I confronted our 3rd party e-commerce category-nav/search provider about this approach here is the response I recieved:</p> <p style="padding-left: 30px;">The purpose of these links is to firstly allow us to reliably log the click and then secondly redirect the visitor to the target PDP.<br /> In addition to the visible links there is also an "invisible link" inside the no script tag. The noscript tag prevents showing of the a tag by normal browsers but is found and executed by bots during crawling of the page.<br /> Here a link to a blog post where an SEO proved this year that the noscript tag is not ignored by bots: <a href="http://www.theseotailor.com.au/blog/hiding-keywords-noscript-seo-experiment/" target="_blank">http://www.theseotailor.com.au/blog/hiding-keywords-noscript-seo-experiment/<br /> </a> <br /> So the visible links are not obfuscating the PDP URL they have it encoded as it otherwise cannot be passed along as a URL query string. The plain PDP URL is part of the noscript tag ensuring discover-ability of PDPs by bots.</p> <p>Does anyone have anything in addition to this one blog post, to substantiate the claim that hiding our links in a <noscript> tag are in fact within the SEO Best Practice standards set by Google, Bing, etc...? </p> <p>Do you think that this method skirts the fine line of grey hat tactics? Will google/bing eventually penalize us for this?</p> <p>Does anyone have a better suggestion on how our 3rd party provider could track those clicks without using a URL redirect & hiding the actual PDP link?</p> <p>All insights are welcome...Thanks!</p> <p>Jordan K.</p></noscript></nofollowed>

Does Backlinks from User Profile Page Still Matter
Though, lot of algorithmic changes, updates have happened. However, backlinks from quality source or trusted sites has hardly lost its importance and thats why Open SIte Explorer or Majestic seo is still there to find quality of backlinks, trust factor and authority factor of the backlinks. I need to know does having backlink (dofollow) from Profile Page - still matters and if yes - will a do follow backlink from Moz Profile Page or any authority site or forum page, having dofollow link from user profile page - does it still count as a mark to authority of your site.

Starting every page title with the keyword
I've read everywhere that it's vital to get your target keyword to the front of the title that you're writing up. Taking into account that Google likes things looking natural I wanted to check if my writing title's like this for example: "Photographers Miami- Find the right Equipment and Accessories" ..Repeated for every page (maybe a page on photography in miami, one on videography in Orlando etc) is a smart way to write titles or if by clearly stacking keywords at the front of every title won't be as beneficial as other ways of doing it?

Google Penalising Pages?
We run an e-commerce website that has been online since 2004. For some of our older brands we are getting good rankings for the brand category pages and also for their model numbers. For newer brands, the category pages aren't getting rankings and neither are the products - even when we search for specific unique content on that page, Google does not return results containing our pages. The real kicker is that the pages are clearly indexed, as searching for the page itself by URL or restricting the same search using the site: modifier the page appears straight away! Sometimes the home page will appear on page 3 or 4 of the rankings for a keyword even though their is a much more relevant page in Google's index from our site - AND THEY KNOW IT, as once again restricting with the keywords with a site: modifier shows the obviously relevant page first and loads of other pages before say the home page or the page that shows. This leads me to the conclusion that something on certain pages is flagging up Google's algorithms or worse, that there has been manual intervention by somebody. There are literally thousands of products that are affected. We worry about duplicate content, but we have rich product reviews and videos all over these pages that aren't showing anywhere, they look very much singled out. Has anybody experienced a situation like this before and managed to turn it around? Link - removed Try a page in for instance the D&G section and you will find it easily on Google most of the time. Try a page in the Diesel section and you probably won't, applying -removed and you will. Thanks, Scott

Influence of users' comments on a page (on-page SEO)
Do you think when Google crawls your page, it "monitors" comments updates to use this as a ranking factor? If Google is looking for social signs, looking for comments updates might be a social sign as well (ok a lot easier to manipulate, but still social). thx
