Best way to check/find lost links?

Hi all

As everyone, we have seen a decrease of domain authority and external links during the last months. with open site

Rand is explaining the reason in this in this post, but I still would like to have a look to the links that in theory I have lost during the last months.

I thought Majestic was the best option but I have been trying to get the info and I see nothing clear.

When I download the fresh or history links, I only see links that are live (in theory, because in history I get a lot not existing but I can not see it without a manual check).

The option of lost links is just giving me 1000 links per day, but after downloading some and checking I see that this lost link report is showing me links that are working (but it looks that majestic couldn't access when they did the crawling and show them as lost).

Also the numbers of lost links are totally different if you use fresh or historic...

Anyone could recommend me a good way to find out links that I really lost?

Hi Moz members I'd really like to place an internal link of every instance of an important keyword phrase "cycling caps" or "cycling cap" to my eComm category page

Best practice in terms of link volume in a page

Hi everyone! Done a site audit recently and found that some articles in our Resource content (where we generally put useful industry news/posts) have multiple links in it (4 to 9 links in a single article). And these are usually internal links (within our domain), but there are few mixed with external domains. What we would like to know: What's the best practice in terms of regulating number of links (internal or external) in an article? Another case I noticed, some links in our articles appeared to be targeting same landing page, just different anchor texts used. Will this get us into trouble? Thanks in advanced for your help.

Anchor Text, best practice for internal links?

Hi, We have a news article on our site that describes currents status/news concerning 2 "major" topics for our business. Now we also have separate pages dedicated to these topics and try to target links/traffic here. This news article has obtained a few "natural external links", but to my question: Within the news article we mention these two keywords naturally about 10 times each. Should we "anchor text" -link each of these mentions to it´s dedicated/in depth -page? Or perhaps only the first mention? Or not at all and perhaps instead put text at the bottom of the article pointing/explaining where they can find more info on each subject at our site? Thanks!

A Big Shout To Everyone -- Good Morning and What's Up 🙂 As I read today through seomoz professional guide to link building and the section why link building matters and in addition to this a newsletter I received today that changed my whole thinking towards link building for rankings vs for relationships. It is already happening on social networks if you are active there, but what about on your website. What are your thoughts on the following ? Google's job is provide the most relevant results to surfers online, and looking the link profile of a site & the page itself is the key to determining which page to serve on plate to the surfers link query ! I think that we as webmasters have to ask ourselves what do we want to achieve with link building. To get quick traffic or build slow authority links, high rankings, lead generation, sales & other things here I may be missing etcccc Other Objective Networking & Relationship Building Alliances : What I discovered today is that building links for 1st page rankings are great and will provide me with steady traffic, but not all of it is targeted traffic, but what else can I do to bring targeted traffic and at the same time try to build alliances with other related non competing business owners online. The idea... is to apply old school networking / relationship building alliances to get targeted traffic to my site that can actually benefit from my services. How Do We Achieve This I become a editor for approving resource links for me site, only the best will be placed on my site as a resource. Build a valuable tightly themed categorized resource section with related non competing resources that can help my sites visitors find what they are looking for, send visitors to non competing resources that may purchase their services which helps me build a relationship with them, and may can with rankings as well, provided I am selective with my qualification process. Questions & Concerns Below : What should I be thinking about when creating a resource categorized links page How many outgoing do follow links should I allow from this links partner page How will this links resource page affect my own SE 1st Page Rankings and is it worth it based on getting targeted traffic Any pros / cons I may be missing here

What is the best way to transfer a sites link juice.

We have been building a new website for one of our clients which he wants it to replace an existing website which will be taken down shortly. The existing site has a reasonable amount of inbound links and we would like to redirect that link juice to the new website, can anyone tell me what the best way to do this would be. Thanks Fraser

Link building and directory links to a new site

I have three new sites all hosted on the same server in the same public html folder and each site is in a different folder inside the public html folder. These sites are a listing of live music venues in different cities in Texas. Should I link these sites together to increase page rank to each other and also put key search phrases in the anchor text and place these links in the text in the center of each page of each site to make the links more effective? Also, because the sites are about a year old they don't have many inlinks yet. If i submit them to about 50 directories will Google not like this because there are way more directory links than natural links? I've been told that it is trouble to have more than about 50% directory links compared to natural links. Thanks in advance for your answers! Take care,

Should I optimize/link build all my pages at once?

I'm currently starting to optimize about 30 area specific pages for a property maintenance company and was wondering, what's the best way to link build multiple pages at once? Should I link build for all of the 30 the pages at once, or maybe focus on 5 individual pages - get them ranking well, then focus on the next 5 and so on?

What are some of your best tips, strategies or resources for link building?

I currently work for a contract manufacturing company so when I think about building links it seems as if it's going to be a daunting task. Mainly because any kind of content that you can come up with is rather dry. When I go about searching for links I usually run into a lot of directories that charge anywhere between $25-$50 for a listing. I've had a hard time convincing marketing that we should start a blog which may be a good way to build some links if we come up with quality posts but those posts may be few and far inbetween. Does anybody have any recommendations for building links for this type of company or subject matter? Also, and I'm sure we have all heard this. When I mentioned the fact that we should be building some quality links to the site marketing first asked why and then commented "Well that shouldn't take you too long". Why is it so difficult to get management to accept the fact that managing a website is an ongoing and constantly changing process that involves research and experimentation?
