Is Paging Comments SEO Friendly? Implications?
-
So glad to be here. Just amazed to see so many discussions over here.
I had a quick query. One of our my blog has more than 500 comments on almost 50+ posts (and in some posts, it's even 1000+ comments). This impacts the load time as well as the experience on mobile. So, wanted to understand if I enable pagination of comments, is it SEO friendly. Does it negatively impacts SEO?
I do not want to take the route of migrating to Disqus, FB comments, etc.

I think it really depends on how it's done. You certainly don't just want a whole page of comments with no blog post above them to be indexed on Google, as the experience of landing on that page from search engine results would be poor.
You have 50 legitimately useful comments on the post? I find that about 75% of our comments are either outright spam, or poorly veiled attempts at it. You may be able to delete any that are constructive to the conversation.
If you paginate the comments to keep some of them off the post in order to speed it up, I'd recommend setting the Robots meta tag on the comment pagination pages to Noindex,Follow.

That sounds good. Will try it.

Hi,
No it won't negatively impact SEO. Please also check this @ https://www.cloudways.com/blog/seo-benefits-wordpress-comments-pagination/

SEO implications of using Marketing Automation landing pages vs on-site content
Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help here... I'm new to a company where due to the limitations of their Wordpress instance they've been creating what would ordinarily be considered pages in the standard sitemap as landing pages in their Pardot marketing automation platform. The URL subdomain is slightly different. Just wondering if anybody could quickly outline the SEO implications of doing this externally instead of directly on their site? Hope I'm making some sense... Thanks,

SEO for a plumber?
Hello, How does a small, local business win at SEO (without abusing directories, articles, and paid links)? It seems that everyone is saying "create unique content", but that just doesn't seem realistic for a small plumber in a big metro area. One might suggest coming up with helpful articles about plumbing tips, etc., but there are thousands of spun articles on article directories already. On page optimization is in place, we are listed in the main directories, we've asked the people we know to link to us, and we are engaged in social media. What would you recommend next? Thanks, Will
