Re-branding Company Social Profiles

Does anyone have experience of re-branding LinkedIN or Facebook? Can you keep the company page/followers and just change your name or do you have to start again?

In my experiece I created some brand pages related to one of my product, create some trending content and when the page is ranked I merge the old with the new one.

I think if you prove it with documents then it's more likely to be accepted?

That's a valid point, however without reaching out to them you're unlikely to be able to completely change the branding. You need to see things from their POV too - perhaps somebody would promote a charity at first and then switch to porn one night. They need to have control over these.

I don't think you'll be able to change everything (the URL for example) yourself, but you should definitely log a support ticket with both sites and ask them to do this for you. Facebook might not be possible at all - but I think Linkedin will.

Hello, I keep on hearing that social media signals have a role in the way Google ranks pages and sites, but for now, I haven't seen any hard evidence of that. Like any other company, we have pages on facebook, linkedin, google plus and twitter, to which we post daily. No, there are no clients coming in from social media, so I was wondering if it's worth investing time in adding every day updates, unless those count in ranking on Google. Hey So I've been doing some research and it looks like theres a "human authority" and a "Page authority". I dont know if it is still relevant or if it has all changed because of Panda. Does social media still hold any SEO value? Do social media platforms like Pinterest and Youtube and twitter drive any valuable Anchor texts to your domain boostin your domain's authority or the page that it is linking to's authority?

How relevant is social bookmarking for SEO today?
I've been doing SEO for a little over 4 years. I've never used sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, Reddit, etc. either personally or on behalf of my clients. This past week I had a discussion with another SEO who asked what I'm doing for my clients with regard to social bookmarking. I responded that I'm really not doing anything and they were shocked. I took a pretty good verbal beating over it. She was borderline offended. I have always been able to deliver solid results for my clients without any type of social bookmarking, so I struggle to see the need, but am surprised at how shocked this other SEO was that I don't do it. How beneficial is it and am I really missing out?

We're currently looking to do some reporting for Social Media. Anyone know the best place (possibly that's free) that can easily provide the following basic metrics for a social media campaign over a previous month period? Value in content from website being shared across social media?
If I write content (small career advice quotes) on my website and I distribute across Twitter and FB I assume my site will get the full credit (from an SEO perspective) since that is where the content was originally uploaded. However, will I still get SEO credit for being active on social media, or will Google view it as duplicate content and evaluate that I am not active on social media? thank you

Is it possible to customize the size and shape of social sharing buttons?
Hello SEO people... I have an important and urgent question. Is it possible to customize social sharing buttons with counter? We are developing a new website and I want to place the social sharing (not the social follow buttons) at a specific location on the website. The space available is not a lot and my developer says that it is not possible to change the size of the button+counter.... please tell me what you guys know about this.
