Big drop in Domain Authority score

Hi

I am managing a website, that in May was indexed at 67 i DA - then we installed SSL and we dropped to 26 and we're still there - I do not now, how I can change my site, so that I can regain some of the DA.

It is a wordpress site and we used a free SSL certificate and I have detected no problem with the 301 redirects.

Do you have any insights or tips?

I too have had this happen this week. rankings have not taken a drop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Before I provide any other information, I have to ask first - Did your rankings (generally speaking) drop as well? Or was it just the number of your DA?

For a full overview, please see our help hub article here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority First, it's important to keep in mind that Domain Authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz that predicts how likely a website is to rank in search engine result pages (SERPs). It is not a Google ranking factor. Domain Authority scores range from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater likelihood of ranking. Since DA is based on machine learning calculations, your site's score will often fluctuate as more, fewer, or different data points become available and are incorporated into those calculations. For instance, if facebook.com were to acquire a billion new links, every other site’s DA would drop relative to Facebook’s. Because more established and authoritative domains like Facebook will have increasingly larger link profiles, they take up more of the high-DA slots, leaving less room at the higher end of the scale for other domains with less robust link profiles. Therefore, it's significantly easier to grow your score from 20 to 30 than it is to grow it from 70 to 80. For this reason, it’s important to use Domain Authority as a comparative metric rather than an absolute one. The best way to influence your DA is to improve your overall site health with a focus on the quality and quantity of external links pointing to your site. Spam score by moz

PA up for one domain and still no movement on the other two!

Hey guys! Just wanted to see if anyone can help me on this one! I have zenory.co.nz the PA on this is 21 and DA is 10 however my other two domains com and com.au have been stagnant at both PA and DA at 1 - any reason why this might be?

Seeing steady drop in Domain Authority?

Hi! I'm working with a client that has seen a steady drop in their domain authority over the past year and a half. They were at 75 in October '13 and now they're down to 67. The drop seems rather steady over this time, no big dip. They've actually worked their crawl errors during this time and have reduced a ton of them. I can't figure out why this metric would be dropping. Anyone know of something measurable I can look at to help pinpoint the problem (and of course actions to fix it)? Thanks so much!

Why is my domain authority lower than my competitors ?

I am totally confused with the information that I am getting from the Site explorer. My domain authority is 26, while my competitor's is 29. I am confused because every one of the factors that SEOmoz uses to determine our domain authority has higher rankings for my website. My SEOmoz rank is higher, my external followed links is higher, and so forth. The only factor that my competitor has with a greater ranking or number is that they have more internal links. I used the link metrics portion and added their URL to see all of this information. Can anyone tell me how this is possible ? My domain is www.Prickettproperties.com and one of the ones that I am looking at comparing is www.liquidlifevacationrentals.com

NoFollow Links from Subdomain to root domain better than DoFollow Links?

Our service at fotograf.de is a shopsystem for professional photographers. The customers can build their own website with our tool including an onlineshop to sell their pictures. Here is my question: One part of the customers use subdomains of our site like photographers.fotograf.de. On each customer website we include a backlink to our homepage www.fotograf.de. From SEO view is it better to set these links as NoFollow Links? Or should we put one Follow Link on the starting page on each site and on the other pages only NoFollow Link? Are these links bad for our SEO regarding link diversity because they all come from one root domain? Thanks for the answers! Sebastian

Root domain or sub domain

When I crawl my site as a root domain, I get more errors is my campaign than when I set my site as a sub domain. Which one is the correct way: root domain or subdomain. My site is www.aa-rental.com

I made a mistake on my root domain, how can I change it.

I just signed up for SEOmoz and already goofed up on setting up my root domain, I left out www. part. I can't find a way to edit it. Can I change it, or do I need to start a new campaign and delete this one?
