Hello,

Doing competitive research for really gentle basic link building campaign.

Which sites do I need to get a backlink list from besides open site explorer to be most successful?

In addition to OSE, ahrefs or SEMrush are awesome tools that can be used to reverse engineer a competitors link profile.

If you haven't already done so, you may also want to review Rand's whiteboard Friday about getting your first 50 links to make sure you're got all the low hanging fruit before diving into other kinds of link building.

Unsolved Using Weglot on wordpress (errors)

Good day to you all, Does anyone have experience of the errors being pulled up by Moz about the utility of the weglot plugin on Wordpress? Moz is pulling up URLs such as: https://www.ibizacc.com/es/chapparal-2/?wg-choose-original=false These are classified under "redirect issues" and 99% of the pages are with the ?wg-choose parameter in the URL. Is this having an actual negative impact on my search or is it something more Moz related being highlighted. Any advice be appreciated and a resolution .. Im thinking I could exclude this parameter.

How do you distinguish competitor backlinks by categories?

Hi We are trying to produce an outreach list based on the competitor backlinks using SEOmoz link analysis tool (open site explorer). I have few questions related to this: 1. How many backlinks per competitor would be a reasonable starting point? And maybe suggest a strategy on how these outreach list can be managed over time? 2. Is there a way to distinguish what types the backlinks are? So for example, can we have list of backlinks that are categorised under online bloggers, traditional journalist or article/press release/directories? 3. Should we be more concerned about the Page authority or the Domain authority when creating this outreach list? I look forward to your answer, thank you.

I have a competitor who has the following Linking Root Domains numbers on the Linking Domains tab and was wondering if some one could explain what the numbers mean? opera.com - 205,515

How to track sub-directories as separate sites

I am tracking a blog for a client thats hosted on a subdomain, we decided to give it it's own SEOMoz campaign. My issue is that when entering competitors, if the competing blog is using a sub-directory, SEO Moz won't let me enter it, only the domain. I would assume that there has to be a way to do this, but I don't see it. I need to be able to track the competing blogs as separate from their root domain. mysite: blog.mysite.com their site: theirsite.com/blog (very different from just theirsite.com) Hopefully someone can tell me what to do here because the metrics are basically useless if I am forced to use only the domain. Opensite explorer not showing facebook/twitter other sites

hello i have had my site live and indexing for 3 months however open site explorer doesn't show the facebook or twitter linkback from my corporate sites. any ideas why this would not show in opesite? it doesn't show in google WMT either. my site: http://cheap-airport-taxis.com/

Which of these is the best guest blogging site

We are wanting to guest write articles to be published on quality sites in exchange for one or two links back (link building) Also, how do you choose what article topics to write. So far my strategy is to look at the industry's biggest sites and to use the "Top Pages" tab in OSE to look for hot topics. Thanks!

Competitive Link finder tool

I tried to use competitive link finder tool. it says that it will identify 10 most important links that my competitor get that I do not. The results that I get are inconsistent with linkscape tool. For example my competitor has a link on www lawyer-links dot info Google rank of that site is 1. Is that really one of their most important links?

Potential site architecture problem.

We are experiencing a problem in which category pages do not appear to be passing Page Authority to subcategory pages. See the example below: Home page has PA of 47 http://www.minespress.com/ The next level category page down has a PA of 34 http://www.minespress.com/category/apparel The next sub category down has PA of 1, and shows no links at all in spite of the fact that we got to it from a category link http://www.minespress.com/category/golf-shirts The page in question is crawlable, is indexed and has nothing that we can see that would be prevent it from showing Page Authority and a link profile using your tools. Do we have a site architecture problem?
