Does the coding of a website really what matter for SEO
-
Hello,
Just wondering if a site that is not coded correctly can hurt your seo even though as a human I can totally understand what is going on on the page and the structure of the website.
Thanks,

Thanks. How about if a h1 tag is in a module by itself for example on wordpress at the top of my page. Can it hurt ? wouldn’t it better if the h1 closed at the end of my page so that it includes my h2 h3 tags within the h1 for search engine to understand the relation between all the h tags ?

IMO the answer is: Absolutely, yes. Without a doubt.
I would type out my reasoning but feel that this post from 2016 just about covers it. Hope this helps!!

Due to some reason my website https://xyz.com is not redirecting to my main website domain - https://www.xyz.com so our tech team suggested - we will have the non-www name on a different IP and we'll 301 redirect that to the https://www.xyz.com. if it works does it will effect our website from SEO point of view? please let me know.

Confused about SEO for Forums (Status Code 200)
I recently created a forum for my website (lets say my site is xyz.com so my forum is forum.xyz.com) and I've been getting status code 200s for tons of my forum pages about duplicate content- especially for threads that have a ton of interaction. Is there a way to fix this? I want my forum to be indexed and not get penalized, but if i canonical tag my main forum page wouldn't that take away the glory the awesome interactions my users are having? Anyone with forum experience can shed some light on this? Thank you so much!

Geotargeting SEO
Hi, We are and SEO company based in Scotland and have taken on a project where the client works in the UK but has distribution in mainland Europe and the US. He currently is working off 3 websites targeted at each area Uk, US and Mainland Europe We are going to rebuild one site and have each area on the site, however we are unsure if sub folders or sub domains would work better. My personal opinion is that sub domains would be better, but I dont have information to back this Can anyone advise? Any advice on geotargeting SEO also would be appreciated! Many Thanks Chris

Do you see issues with this set up from an organic seo perspective and so many links from one domain pointing back into the main site?

No matter what I do, my website isn't showing up in search results. What's happening?
I've checked for meta-robots, all SEO tags are fixed, reindexed with google-- basically everything and it's not showing up. According to SEOMoz all looks fine, I am making a few fixes, but nothing terribly major. It's a new website, and i know it takes a while, but there is no movement here in a month. Any insights here?

Ecommerce website consolidation
I have a large ecommerce site and several smaller nitche ecommerce sites. All have the same products, but the smaller sites are loosing traffic. I want to combine all the sites to the larger site so it will be easier to manage, but I don't want to loose any rank on the smaller sites. Example: www.yourpromopeople.com - This is the large site I want to use. www.logocoolies.com www.fourcolormagnets.com - These are a couple of the smaller sites I want to combine with the larger one. Questions: What are the pros and cons in doing this? What would be the best way to do this? Would redirecting the URL's to the larger site's product pages do the trick or is there a better option? Thanks for the help.

Multiple blogs for seo
I have signed up for some rather expensive lawyer directories that have very high domain PR, 's of 6 or 7 . Some of these allow you to make blog posts or articles on their site which should be good for SEO because of the high domain PR. I understand that if I do a lot of posts on one of these blogs with links back to my site, I should rapidly reach the point of diminishing returns because they are all coming from the same domain. Therefore, I plan to mix up my blo posts betwee several of these sites and also rewrite them and post them on my own site's blog. My question is this, if I post on any of these sites and I link back to internal pages of my site, and not to the home page, does this offset the "diminishing returns" factor? Paul
