Which is Important? Backlinks or Internal Links? For SEO purpose.
-
Both help in SEO. Internal links for ensuring that bots crawl and connect your pages together. Backlinks for improving your site's authority. The latter has more weight in terms of outranking competitors.
-
If I don't have enough good backlinks then the internal linking will not help for ranking. It will be good for indexing. Not sure if I am correct. If I have good backlinks then I can rank my other important pages as well.
-
Both backlinks and internal links are important for any kind of SEO, but in slightly different ways.
Internal links assist both users and search engines in navigating and crawling through your site.
Backlinks signal to Google that your site is credible and authoritative.
If you were to ask which is more important?
Say you have a service page, and are interested in it ranking better... Linking to it internally, say from your blog, with relevant anchor text will be helpful. But I think most would agree an outside backlink (a quality link earned ethically) linking to your service page would be much more valuable.
Hope that's helpful.

Is it OK to Leave Links in Comments ?
It may sound silly ... Just wondering to see your opinion about leaving link on blogs; keyword as name with site link or link in the comment text as long as its relevant.

Knowledge Graph SEO Factors
I notice when I search for my clients brand name it pulls up the Google local info and Google+ stuff, knowledge graph etc, as well as a section at the bottom, 'People Also Search For' and lists a number of the clients competitors. However when I search one of the competitors no Google local or knowledge graph stuff comes up. Client obviously wants to limit promotion of the competitors. Does anyone have any experience with this? I know Google Author rank seems to play a factor in knowledge graph results? Are the competitors doing anything on their end SEO wise? What can be done to limit this? Thanks for any help! jkn0BMT.png

Would you get link from this blog?
I have an opportunity to place a guest blog on a site. The site has the following metrics: DA/PA: 24/36 Inbound links: 3K+ from 16 root domains Here is what makes me uneasy: The number of links from the same domain, suggesting sitewide or footer links When I look at the backlinks, there are links from sites like http://best-american-law-firms.info/, or http://www.luvbuds.info/. They sare blogroll links that are likely paid for. Would you get a link from this blog?

How to handle footer links after Penguin?
With the launch of Google's Penguin I know that footer links could possibly hurt rankings. Also too many links on a page are also bad. I have a client http://www.m-scribe.com That has footer links creating well over 100 links on many of their pages. How should I handle these footer links? Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Big Brands Still Paying For Links!
We have been spending a lot of time creating unique and relevant content that is helpful to users in order to garner natural links. However, I still see large companies getting paid links to their site. They still rank despite the paid links - many higher that before thanks to the increased brand/domain authority bias by Google. I have seen a number of blogs with posts that have dofollow links to sites like Amazon and Dirtdevil. Are small businesses just getting buried or am I being too cynical?
