Great question! I would follow the following steps.
1. Create and Verify a GMB for each location and have the website link be to the internal location page "...com/melbourne/" etc.
2. Optimize Each Location's page to Rank for It's Target Keyword, for the Melbourne location page-
- Have "Melbourne Gym" and "Yoga Center" (or another target keyword) in your Meta Title, First Paragraph, H1, H2s.
- Try to have at least 1-2 pictures on each location page (with appropriate alt text and keywords)
- Have over 1000 words on the page (or just more than your competitor), longer and more in-depth content ranks better
- Drive internal links and external to those city location pages
3. Work on Getting Some Review on Your New GMB profiles from customers at those locations -
First i would make sure to have a google my business listing for each location. Then i would create unique local landing pages for each location a gym resides in. If a location offers yoga, make sure to include yoga descriptions on the landing page.
This would be just a start but can go along way. Make sure those local landing pages are unique and do not have the same copy on each page. Make them location specific.
Thanks,
Don Silvernail

How to manage two websites that have the same locations on GMB?
We have a client who sells chalet holidays on two different websites. There are 12 Chalets in total dotted around the alps. We want these locations to feature on Google My Business for both websites. However, it seems to only let us choose between having one website or the other. What's the best way to have both featuring all 12 chalets? Currently, we have them all listed individually in a grouped location under one website. Looking forward to hearing all your great geeky suggestions!

A question for a real citation building PRO (I am totally lost on this one) Thank you for ANY help!
Quick Q for your (local) SEO gurus. I have a client who has bought a number of local companies. (advertising, printing, graphic design, vehicle wraps) to compliment his screen printing, embroidery, etc business. ALL of these companies run out of the SAME address. What makes it even harder is he wants to continue operating them as separate companies. Fortunately, he is OK with using different phone numbers for each business but on the website (we are building for him) ALL the companies are represented like it is all one big happy company. How the H@#$ do I build citations for this business! 🙂 ??? THANK YOU FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!! If I use the one 'parent' company building citations is a challenge bcs they do so MANY things in one location. If I try and build citations for 5 companies w the same address - that can't be a good idea either. If the plan is to eventually fold all these companies into the one parent company *(waiting to hear back on that) I would think the BEST advice would be to use the ONE phone number and address and just shoot for a general 'marketing' category. Why the location of my queries is wrong?
Hi there, I've got a question related to the location of the queries shown in GWT. My company operates just in Spain but according to GWT the majority of my queries comes from Sweden. Let's say 75% Sweden, 20% Spain, 5% rest of the countries. Of course I've set as Internatinal Targeting Spain as country, How could this be possible considering that spanish it is not the main language in Sweden. Can this be changed? Thank u 😉

Google Places - Should my category choice be manual keywords or selected from default list
Hi All, I have a carpet cleaner hire business and am new to google places. I have been doing my listing for it but can't seem to work out whether I should choose one of the default choices in the categories and leave it as that (in my case it would be "carpet cleaning services" or should I manually type some keywords as well as this ? So for instance, I choose the default - carpet cleaning services but also manually type in "carpet cleaner hire" , floor scrubber hire etc etc as other categories Any advice or if someone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. thanks Pete

Would having 3 locations NAP in footer of site hurt?
We have offices in New York, London and Sydney. On our website, we used the Yoast local plugin and set up NAP for all 3 different addresses in the footer of the site - and hence all pages. Is that bad? Would G consider that as stuffing or whatever other word that they may deem to call it? Any help would be appreciated.

Completely lost Google Local rankings for main keywords
Hi there, Our website, petmedicalcenter.com, used to rank very well in Google in the local section - usually within the top 3 spots for 8 or so keywords. Then last fall our rankings started to diminish. We would rank really well for a few days and then would be no where to be found in the local section - this cycle kept going for a few months. Now, within the last few weeks our website is nowhere to be found in local for our usual keywords. After a few years of success with SEO, I know the landscape is really starting to change. My problem is that I don't even know where to start to try and get us back on to the top spots. I know this question is rather broad, but I am really at a loss here. Any help is greatly appreciated!! http://www.petmedicalcenter.com Main Keywords: veterinarian las vegas, vets in las vegas, veterinarians las vegas, las vegas veterinarians, vet las vegas Thank you for your help!
