404s on paginated categories with rss feed in wordpress
-
Moz tells me I have 16 404 errors. They are all on paginated pages and end with rss. I checked all my settings and i do not know why it is doing this. https://sharlinlaw.com/author/ben-sharlin/page/7/rss the page 7 exists but not the rss feed on page 7. it also exists https://sharlinlaw.com/author/ben-sharlin/rss
Just on pagination it is throwing 404ss. It is my understanding that this is a custom rss structure. I built this site and i did not set it up this way but moz crawler is flagging these, what should i do.
I do not need rss to exist on pagination.
Thanks for any responses to this issue,
Don Silvernail

Hi Roman,
I get that, I am just not seeing why moz crawler even found links such as these to throw a 404. I donot think these rss feeds existed on my site at any point. So i would like to find why they are coming up as 404 and fix it properly without redirects.
Thanks,

Why don't you try making a redirect to the homepage? or you can block those URLs with the Robot.txt so the crawler will not enter to that page. I had the same problem in the past and worked for me.

What Should I Do About Duplicate Title Warning From Category Pages Of Store?
I know a lot of the MOZ warnings can be ignored, however, I'm trying to figure out of this one should be added to that list: my store has urls setup like this for categories: https://www.mysite.com/sweaters https://www.mysite.com/sweaters/page/2 The meta title is "Sweaters" for both pages. Is that bad practice? I don't think I can automatically change the meta title to to Sweaters Page 2 or even want to. or should I do that? Or just ignore these type of warnings?

Canonical URLs all show trailing slash on main site pages - using Yoast SEO for Wordpress - how to correct
We are using Yoast for a number of our sites. We use naked domain as the canonical. I have noticed in the header tags that all our sites show the canonical URLs as having a trailing slash: Example: http;//foxspizzajc.com, when I look at the source code, it shows the canonical as http;//foxspizzajc.com/ Of course, it is much more likely that all sites that link to us will not use the trailing slash - so preferably we do not want that to be the canonical - among other reasons. Does this need to be fixed so the trailing slash is removed? I cannot see how to do this in Yoast SEO or in Permalinks structure for Wordpress. Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for any help.

How do you create tracking URLs in Wordpress without creating duplicate pages?
I use Wordpress as my CMS, but I want to track click activity to my RFQ page from different products and services on my site. The easiest way to do this is through adding a string to the end of a URL (ala http://www.netrepid.com/request-for-quote/?=colocation) The downside to this, of course, is that when Moz does its crawl diagnostic every week, I get notified that I have multiple pages with the same page title and the dup content. I'm not a programming expert, but I'm pretty handy with Wordpress and know a thing or two about 'href-fing' (yeah, that's a thing). Can someone who tracks click activity in WP with URL variables please enlighten me on how to do this without creating dup pages? Appreciate your expertise. Thanks!

How do you distinguish competitor backlinks by categories?
Hi We are trying to produce an outreach list based on the competitor backlinks using SEOmoz link analysis tool (open site explorer). I have few questions related to this: 1. How many backlinks per competitor would be a reasonable starting point? And maybe suggest a strategy on how these outreach list can be managed over time? 2. Is there a way to distinguish what types the backlinks are? So for example, can we have list of backlinks that are categorised under online bloggers, traditional journalist or article/press release/directories? 3. Should we be more concerned about the Page authority or the Domain authority when creating this outreach list? I look forward to your answer, thank you.

Temporary Redirect Notice regarding Wordpress
Hello, Under the warnings in Moz, we have 44 temporary redirect warnings showing up because we moved our blog from timelinkblogs.wordpress.org to our subdomain blog.timelink.org within Wordpress. Wordpress indicates that these were permanent 301 redirects, but Moz is indicating that they are temporary. We want to be sure that they are permanent so we retain the SEO credit. Can someone please confirm that these are permanent redirects i.e. http://blog.timelink.com/2012/02/17/true-stories-time-and-attendance-pay-rules-2 Moz is showing the following- it has a "trackback" added to the URL? http://blog.timelink.com/2012/02/17/true-stories-time-and-attendance-pay-rules-2/trackback/ Thanks!

I've got quite a few "Duplicate Page Title" Errors in my Crawl Diagnostics for my Wordpress Blog
Title says it all, is this an issue? The pages seem to be set up properly with Rel=Canonical so should i just ignore the duplicate page title erros in my Crawl Diagnostics dashboard? Thanks

Wordpress-related warnings
As proposed by a number of people here, I have moved from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress blog. I have also installed the SEO All in One plugin. This has been up and running for a month or so. My problem is that it is generated many (thousands) of warnings through my PRO Dashboard for Crawl Diagnostics. Specifically, I have a huge number of "Overly-dynamic URL" warnings. A typical URL is as folows: http://www.wednet.com/blog/2011/10/07/do-us-a-favor-dont/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=do-us-a-favor-dont This has three querystring parameters, all generated by WordPress automatically. Here's another significant issue. With the SEO All In One plug in I can control the SEO-related parameters for each post (title, meta description, etc). However, WordPress generates a ton of virtual URLs which I can't (as far as I know) directly control. For example, the following page is a category page with all the posts for a single category. This is generating warnings because the meta description is missing. However, I do not know how to control such parameters since the page is automatically generated. http://www.wednet.com/blog/category/ceremony/ These type of warnings dominate the stats I have through my dashboard. How can I resolve these? Thanks. Mark
