Bullet Points or Full Sentences

We are a furniture retailer and are currently looking at redesigning the website. Would it have an effect on SEO if the product descriptions were turned into bullet points and if the length of text on each page was shortened?

Absolutely agree with Egol. This might not help with the SEO per se, but such a big SEO factor is how happy people are on the page itself. You might find by adding important bullets that you retain someone for longer, make them want to read further and then go on to make a purchase.
Make the pages as good as is possible.

Agree with the other two comments. I would add: Use bullet points to highlight key features and benefits. Use complete sentences to describe the product.

Amazon gives sellers five bullet points at the top of the product page, then a couple hundred words down below.
We changed many of our retail pages to 1) a two or three sentence sales pitch; 2) several bullets (as many as needed); 3) an article format description that might include additional photos, the most commonly asked questions about the product.

What you need to consider is search intent. Can you inform or educate the potential customers with bullet points? Do the bullet points answer all questions. If not then use full sentences. Shortened page may see a dip in SEO if the content no longer answers the users search intent. Be very careful when changing content or shortening content. Make sure you express all the reasons why the searcher landed on the page to begin within the shortened content. Are you shortening to remove fluff?

After 301 redirection non-English keyword points to English language pages
We had multilingual website on .co.uk domain and somewhere in April, we've done 301 redirection from domain1.co.uk pages which were in Polish language to domain2.com/pl domain and now for some Polish keywords Google SERP sometimes shows English pages (.com) and sometimes polish pages (.com/pl). Previously co.uk/en had English content and that got redirected to .com. What could be the reason? Thank you for all responses.

Why has my clients domain authority dropped 4 points?
I have been noticing odd results with the domain authority stat for one of my clients' wesbites. Whilst they have considerbaly improved for keyword rankings for granite worktops bristol and granite kitchen worktops bristol, I have noticed that the domain authority of the site has recently dropped from 12-6. Is there any particularly why this has seen such a big drop and what can be done to turn this back around? Best wishes, Richard O'Brien

What's the best SEO tactics when you have a dedicated web address pointing to a page on a different site?
Hope someone can help with a question I've got about sorting out some duplicate content issues. To simplify the question, imagine there is a website a.com which has a page a.com/newslettersignup. In addition to the a.com domain, there is also a different web address, ashortcut.com, which points to a.com/newslettersignup. ashortcut.com is the web address that is advertised in marketing material etc. So what is the best way then to tell Google etc. that ashortcut.com is the preferred URL for the page which sits at a.com/newslettersignup? The advice I've read about the canonical tag, for example, doesn't cover this exact scenario so although it can support cross-domain information, I'm not sure if that's the best route to follow. Do parameters in a URL make a difference from an SEO point of view
We us a number of different parameters in a number of our URLs to track how the user has navigated to the page. So for example we will have a page www.example.com/product/?banner to show that the user has navigated to the page from the banner as opposed to www.example.com/product/?footer to show that the user has navigated to the page from the footer. Do search engines treat these pages as the same page or different pages? Thanks

Will changing order of bullet points in product descriptions add some uniqueness?
We write our own unique product descriptions and have a unique product video for each color variation and multiple unique product images and display seperate user reviews per color variation. We prefer to have seperate product pages for each color variation for several reasons (targeting color searches and user experience seeing all color variations when browsing category pages). Product descriptions of color variations are quite similar.

Advice about resource points
Hi there, We're an online booking portal for the hair and beauty industry, and also provide salon management software. We're thinking of creating a separate subdomain on the main site, probably along the lines of salons.example.com as a resource point and advice centre for salons. In it, I was thinking of featuring links and extracts from various blog posts I've written on salon marketing, downloadable white papers and featured videos we've created - a sample of each that you can click through to get all the bits on one page i.e. you click a see all vids bit to be taken to a page with all the vids on it. This is very much conceptual at the moment (though we do have a fair number of resources on the blog and the like), but I'd love it all to be drawn into a helpful section for salons. I'd love to hear what you think about it and whether there are some other ways we might look into doing this. No right answers, hoping for a bit of a debate/advice around resource centres. How does a keyword get crawled and pointed at a certain page
I was wondering if you can give me some insight on how a keyword that I put on my campaign gets linked to a specific URL on my website by SEOMoz or Google. For example: updating a brick fireplace is my keyword. On the campaign when I am looking at my on page optimization, the URL assigned (or given) to it is my homepage. How is this determined and is there a way around it and or directing it to the correct page? Thanks

How do I avoid cannibalization and point search engines to the correct page?
Currently this page ranks for the phrase "keep calm and carry on" http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/item/Keep-Calm-and-Carry-On-Bandages/3307.010/413160.html This page is just one product of many in the Keep Calm category. I'd rather this page be the result: http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/gifts/keep-calm-and-carry-on.html seomoz states: "To prevent engines from potentially seeing a signal that this page is not the intended ranking target and creating additional competition for your page, we suggest staying away from linking internally to another page with the target keyword(s) as the exact anchor text." So obviously I should remove the link from the product detail page, but what other things can I do to get the category page to rank higher than the one product page? Thanks!
