Blogspot blog is subdomain, but domain is changing - How will this affect backlinks?

Hi Moz community,
I appreciate the title is confusing, so let me explain.
We use blogspot to host our blog. It's set up as a subdomain of our website. Let's call it: lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com
Our website, in this example, is **lovelytraining.com **
We're migrating our website to a new domain: lovely.training
We'll be redirecting everything on the primary website, so our link profile won't be lost.
However, as the blog is hosted on blogspot, we'll lose links pointed to the blog. The blog would remain lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com - but our website would now be lovely.training
The question is, has anyone migrated/redirected a blogspot blog in this way, to retain links?
Secondly, is there another way we can tell Google that this is blog should be treated as a subdomain of our website?
I'm sure I'm missing out something stupid, so don't go easy on me!

Just want to be clear: you're going from having the website lovelytraining.com and the blog lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com to having the website lovely.training and the blog lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com. Right?
If so - yup, you're going to lose that subdomain connection. There's no formal way you can tell Google that lovelyblog.lovelytraining.com is essentially part of the lovely.training site, but you can link to the blog in your header or footer so they're clearly partners.
Have you thought about migrating your blog to lovely.training/blog/? That's the best way to consolidate link equity.

Gradual roll out of new webpages on temporary subdomain
I’m working for a company who is looking to gradually replace an existing website with a new website. They will replace the homepage, then a section, then another section, and so on, until the new site is complete. All new pages will sit on a temporary subdomain. So, for example, the URL for the homepage at the moment is www.domain.com, but as soon as the new homepage is ready, that will be launched on a temporary URL / subdomain - www2.domain.com - replacing the old homepage. The new pages will then gradually increase on www2.domain.com (so journeys will inevitably move across domains) until the whole of the new website is ready on www2.domain.com - at which point it will move on to www.domain.com. I know this isn’t a good way of doing things - I would much prefer the new site is completely built and then it just replaces the old site with the necessary 301 redirects in place - but the company wants to see the gradual roll out of new page designs. So, my question is, what’s the best way to manage this without negatively impacting rankings for the existing domain (www.domain.com)?

Are provincial third-level domains bad for SEO?
My prospect's domain ends in ".on.ca" (Ontario, Canada). The structure of their site is companyname.on.ca (main page) and all other pages are sub-folders (companyname.on.ca/page-name-1 All pages are no more than two levels deep. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the provincial sub-domain (.on.ca) presents an SEO challenge?

Blog.yoursite.com or yoursite.com/blog/?
Rand made the following post in 2009. In July of 2013 I question whether this is still best practice. Obviously, much has changed in our industry in four-and-a-half years! "...if you're seeking to maximize your ranking ability for a given piece of content, it's my personal belief that you should, most of the time, keep it on 1 subdomain under 1 root domain (but feel free to use subfolders as it makes sense). Starting a blog? I almost always recommend yoursite.com/blog over blog.yoursite.com. Want to launch a new section of content? Use yoursite.com/newstuff rather than newstuff.yoursite.com." Do pull quotes affect SEO positively or negatively?
I like the design element of a pull quote to ad interest and highlight an important point. If I use an exact quote from the page in a pull quote on that page, does that negatively affect SEO as duplicate content? Are there formatting or tagging methods that could help pull quotes to boost SEO? For clarity, by "pull quote" I mean a stylized bit of text that floats on a page in such a way that the body text wraps around it. It is actual text (not text embedded in a graphic) but it behaves like an image with text wrapping around it. Main page redirect affecting search results?
Question.... A recent change was made to our page www.BGU.edu by a marketing person. So now when you type in www.BGU.edu it actually redirects to a different page www.BGU.edu/inquiry This is a really bad idea isn't it? I do not know enough about SEO to know a lot, and just joined SEOmoz but do I need to tell the admin to change it back?

Homepage Menu Change
For the site I work on we would like to make a change on the homepage from having categories on the left nav to a meta menu on the top nav. The reason we are doing this is an attempt to both make finding products better for the customer and we feel it is more aesthetically pleasing. Could this negatively affect our SEO and ranking even if we use the exact same links? Are there any other negative repercussions you feel could come from this? Thanks for any help!
