What do I do with content suggestions to help you rank higher?
-
I am looking at the Page Optimization on a post. Under content suggestions to help you rank higher - Are they recommending that I use the recommend anchor text and use one of the top ranking websites to link to those?
-
Eli Myers (via email) says:
Content Suggestions are topics that we've seen used on pages that are ranking well for the keyword that you queried. If you're looking to help a particular piece of content rank well, they are topics that you may consider including. The idea is that the topic content may be helping those pages rank if they're a relevant and useful.
For example, here is a report from the keyword "seo":
Pages who rank well for "seo" are also talking about '"search console", "seo keywords", "seo agency", among other things. I can hit the arrow on the right to expand the box and see which exact pages on the SERP for "seo" are talking about "seo keywords". This area can be used as ideas for content generation - for example, in a new blog article on my SEO site I might want to talk about Google's Search Console, keyword research, agency topics, etc, as it would seem that searchers are finding this topics relevant and useful.

Many Duplicate Content Flags
Not sure about you all, but I’m loving the new Moz Site Crawler. However, I was noticing that it is identifying a huge amount of pages as duplicate content. There are about 30,000 pages in this website, with that said we’ve had to make many templates to make the site scalable. Additionally a url rule was lost which caused a significant amount of duplicate pages to be created. I am working through using the moz crawl tool to identify duplicate pages but noticing many pages under “Affected Pages,” are actually unique content pages with initial content that is duplicate. I read that Moz flags any pages with 90% or more content overlapping content or code. My theory for this is that some templates that are too similar, to the point that Moz reads them as duplicative. Has this happened for anyone else? In addition, if Moz is flagging these similar pages as duplicate content, do we surmise that Google bots are having the same issue? We have seen issues with rankings as it pertains to the actual duplicate pages but hadn't experienced issues across the unique pages, they are hyperlocal pages so we are able to see rankings quite easily.

Why there is a big gap between MOZ and Google Analytics Keyword Ranking for my website?
Hello everyone, I've just started a SEO project and I'm very new in the field. Well, I tried to select the most interesting Keywords for my website. When I checked out what the current ranking for each one was, I noticed that between Google and MOZ, figures are totally different. For example, for the word "channel manager": on Google Analytics: #2 on MOZ: not in the top 50 I know that for Google Analytics, these numbers are average (12 months). But it cannot explain such a huge gap. Do you have an explanation for that? And also does that mean that I can't trust Google (really?). Because I also did some analysis with Google figures: Monthly searches, Competition... Thanks for you help! Happy Christmas, Floriane.

Is a higher or lower score better in keyword ranking
I know this is a weird question, I think I have confused myself with different keyword tools. So if you get a score of 10 for your keyword, should you aim to be closer to 1 or 50?

Moz Crawler URL paramaters & duplicate content
Hi all, this is my first post on Moz Q&A 🙂 Questions: Does the Moz Crawler take into account rel="canonical" for search results pages with sorting / filtering URL parameters? How much time does it take for an issue to disappear from the issues list after it's been corrected? Does it come op in the next weekly report? I'm asking because the crawler is reporting 50k+ pages crawled, when in reality, this number should be closer to 1000. All pages with query parameters have the correct canonical tag pointing to the root URL, so I'm wondering whether I need to noindex the other pages for the crawler to report correct data?: Original (canonical URL): DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/BS?search_location=cabo-san-lucas Filter active URL: DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/BS?search_location=cabo-san-lucas&booking_date=&booking_days=1&booking_persons=1&priceFilter%5B%5D=0%2C500&includedPriceFilter%5B%5D=drinks-soft Also, if noindex is the only solution, will it impact the ranking of the pages involved? Note: Google and Bing are semi-successful in reporting index page count, each reporting around 2.5k result pages when using the site:DOMAIN.com query. The rel canonical tag was missing for a short period of time about 4 weeks ago, but since fixing the issue these pages still haven't been deindexed. Appreciate any suggestions regarding Moz Crawler & Google / Bing index count!

Keyword Rankings vs. Rank Tracker research tool
I have a campaign tracking several keywords. On my Keyword Rankings report I'm not in the top 50 for anything. When I use the Rank Tracker tool, my rankings are quite high (I have 2 in the top 5). When I use the Rank Tracker tool I've noticed that I'm able to point to specific URLs on my website (not the main page). When looking on my Keyword Rankings report, the URL is usually empty. So what am I missing? Have I configured something incorrectly? Can I update the URLs on the Keyword Rankings report so the rankings will be reflective of the Rank Tracker tool? OSQdLmb nMnOQim

Is there any tool that checks the rankings at any time I want?
My problem is that in Moz when I check ranking it shows me only on a weekly basis. Acording to MOZ I was on rank 11 yesterday. This is not what my SEO guy has sent me in his report. And usually he is right. Would be nice to have a ranking report for each day. What is the sense of a ranking tool if I don't know what happened between 2 ranking dates? How can I check that? Is there any rank history tool? Or a tool that will check in real time. The way I do it sometimes is to go on google.com/ncr to see the us version of google because I am in Europe. Rank tracker does not work for me at the moment. Get ranking button is inactive. My old keyword list has not been imported from SEOMOZ
