If my site doesn't have contact and about page then will my site get Moz spam?
-
Hi there!
Our machine learning model identified 27 common features among the millions of banned or penalized sites in the data we fed it.
8. Phone Number Present Spam sites rarely have real phone numbers present on their pages. 10. Email Address Present Email addresses are almost never present on spam sites. It's recommended to have these but it doesn't explicitly it needs to be on the contact page.
You can read more about Spam Score on our Help Hub - including an awesome video that explains how to use the score as well as the factors we use to calculate the score.
If you have any further questions, please email us at help@moz.com.

The Moz Spam Score is calculated based on a multitude of factors. Those factors are listed publicly by Moz here.
Looking over the factors, not having an "about" or "contact" page doesn't increase your spam score. Many sites nowadays are single-page, so it wouldn't make a lot of reasoning into increasing their spam score as they might have implemented the "contact" and "about" sections on the homepage.
However, you do get a higher Moz spam score if you have a low number of pages.
I'd like to also add that the Moz spam score is just an estimate by Moz generally used for measuring the quality of a site's backlinks, so it doesn't directly reflect the opinion that search engines have on the said sites.

API v1 still gets new data?
Hello! Do the v1 API endpoints provide fresh data, or do I need to use the v2 endpoints for fresh data? According to the v1 API docs "This guide outlines the endpoints for now archived Mozscape API endpoints." Does this mean that the v1 API only serves archived data? Thanks!

How much attention should I pay to Moz's DA/PA?
Hola! I've been optimising a site since October and our hard work has yielded a sizeable increase in organic traffic, revenue, quality, relevant links and Search Metrics scoring since commencing the campaign. After yesterday's Moz update, the DA has dropped slightly and a number of pages' PAs have dropped significantly (i.e. from 27 to 17). So here are my questions: My 'white hat' optimisation is clearly working. The site is enjoying more than 100% year-on-year increase in organic traffic and we're currently pulling in more organic visitors than ever before. Why is Moz's score not reflecting this? Some of the pages that have seen sizeable PA drops have had their URLs changed since the last Moz update. For example, I've optimised a URL from www.mysite.com/cases-covers to www.mysite.com/phone-cases to coincide with search volumes. I've added optimised content to this page too, but the PA has dipped from 27 to 17. A 301 redirect has been correctly added, and this is evident by a PA of 17 and not zero, which is what a brand new page would have. Am I paying too much attention to Moz's scores? It's a bit disheartening to see a drop after a lot of hard work. However, I guess the only thing that really counts is an increased volume of search traffic and revenue, right? Cheers, Lewis

On-Page Reports showing old urls
While taking a look at our sites on-page reports I noticed some of our keywords with very old urls that haven't existed for close to a year. How do I make sure moz's keyword ranking is finding the correct page and make sure I'm not getting graded on that keywords/urls that don't exist any more or have been 301'd to new urls? Is there a way to clean these out? My on-page reports say I have 62 reports for only a total of 34 keywords in rankings. As you can see from the image most of the urls for "tax folder" have now been 301'd to not include /product or /category but moz is still showing them with the old url structure. BTW our site is minespress.com 2KdGcPL.png

Cannot get the API to work when using an EC2 server
Hi I've created a script that I'd like to use to check a list of domains using the Moz API. It works totally fine on my local machine. However, when I run it from my EC2 instance, it fails every time. To be specific, the response is always empty (the response is an empty json array) when the request is sent from EC2. Is, for some reason, EC2 blocked by the Moz API? Many thanks for your help, Andrew
