Moving my website to Wordpress, what are the possible consequences?
-
I am moving my website to WordPress after years. I am curious to know what the best route to maintain as much SEO value as possible would be. We have a lot of 301 redirects currently, and we will maintain those, but what else should we do or know?
Thanks for any help.

Having set up those 301 redirects is the most important thing.
Make sure each of the page of the Wordpress site redirect to a corrosponding page of the new website.
-
@hwade It all depends on the amounts of pages and redirects you actually have. I would start checking your search console account and of course, check Screaming Frog (By the way is funny that SF is still useful these days)

Website Not Performing after switch to HTTPS
We recently switched our client's website to HTTPS but after the move, we've experienced a huge decrease in rankings (off the map), and traffic. Our metas for the homepage are not being picked up by Google, although it was appearing correctly before the switch. We've implemented all redirects, resubmitted URL to Google, and updated GSC. GSC is also reporting errors in our XML stating there are no URLs to crawl. Has anyone had any issues similar? What do you all recommend? Help greatly appreciated

How to work with schema.org together with Wordpress
Hi schema.org seems to be quite simple when working with a plain HTML website. You just look up the code you need on schame.org and implement it in the HTML file as required. But when using Wordpress things become more complicated. I have to use plugins for schemata and then I can only use the schemata that exist in those plugins which are very limited. How do you deal with this issue? Cheers Marc

How to structure articles on a website.
Hi All, Key to a successful website is quality content - so the Gods of Google tell me. Embrace your audience with quality feature rich articles on your products or services, hints and tips, how to, etc. So you build your article page with all the correct criteria; Long Tail Keyword or phrases hitting the URL, heading, 1st sentance, etc. My question is this

Let's say you have 30 articles, where would you place the 30 articles for SEO purposes and user experiences. My thought are:
1] on the home page create a column with a clear heading "Useful articles" and populate the column with links to all 30 articles.
or
2] throughout your website create link references to the articles as part of natural information flow.
or
3] Create a banner or impact logo on the all pages to entice your audience to click and land on dedicated "articles page" Thanks Mark0 -

Wordpress No 404
Hello, My issue is that in wordpress 404 does not seem to be working properly. An example of this is: sitename.com/category/catname loads the files in that category but I can also type sitename.com/category/asdasfaasd/catname and it still goes to the posts in that category and does not 404. I can replace the misc text with anything and it does not 404. My worry is that this can be used to exploit duplicate content. I've looked at a couple of other sites and they do the same. I'm using Yoast as my SEO plugin and my theme is elogix from themeforest. I've tried disabling all plugins, cloudflare and changing theme and the same issue exists. If anyone can help it would be extremely appreciated.

Where to get a video sitemap creator for Wordpress?
I have a website that is nearly all about videos and is based on Wordpress. Does anyone know of a way to create a video sitemap that updates automatically as I write a new post? The video files and other data are all stored in separate meta-post locations... So it needs to be able to grab them. Any help is appreciated.
