Is blogging enough to keep my site fresh?
-
I know that one of the things Google looks for is fresh content. My main site is a wordpress site where I have optimized about 12 static pags and I also do blog posts. Assuming I continue to blog, do I need to give my pages a periodic "face lift" or is enough just to keep blogging and add a static page from time to time?

I would also recommend you to be active in social media like Facebook and Twitter.
The social activity is positive in many ways,
1. Creates a buzz around your business, gives Google positive signals about popularity.
2. You will spread your information to friends, customers and others in your industry, it will help you build the brand.

Hi Paul.
Keep in mind Google indexes pages, not sites. Your site's DA can affect your page ranking, but otherwise each page is indexed upon it's own merits.
Adding new pages to your site can help IF your site is set up to be dynamic. For example, if your pages automatically add links to the new content in blocks such as "lastest news" or "related articles". It is also helpful to have dynamic internal linking where links are automatically generated to any pages on your site (like wikipedia).
Another way to keep a page fresh is to allow for user generated comments to be added.
You can update your pages, but you want to do it in such a manner as to offer real value to users. Rearranging the text or making other changes solely for the purpose of ranking isn't going to help. An example of a helpful update: if you have a web page on "peaches" and then comment on a recent peach recall.

Our new site will be using static site generator which is supposed to be better for SEO?
Hi folks, Our dev team is planning on building our new marketing webpages on SSG or Static Site Generator(we are stepping away from SSR). Based on my research this is something that can help our SEO in particular for site speed (our site has a poor score).

How to jumpstart a new Ecommerce site
Hello, I've got a new Ecommerce site I'm jumpstarting. It's one of those sites that takes a while to rank for. Here's what we're doing: 1. Creating a beautiful, mobile friendly site. 2. Adding a long detailed home page answering all the questions that people come to our industry keyword results with. 3. Adding detailed, beautiful cateogy pages. 4. Adding detailed, beautiful product pages. 5. Adding beautiful, long About Us & Resource Sites list pages. 6. Offering straight up obvious free shipping and no tax even though that's taking a hit in our industry. 7. We're going after the 2 main informational terms (keyword explorer) in the industry with a vengance - 20X as good as the competition for the main term. 8. We're adding 20-30 pages of articles to help our customers and hit major keyword search terms, although there's not much in our industry. What else would you recommend doing to jumpstart a new Ecommerce site that has difficulty being in the top 50? Thanks.

Linking to one of my own sites, from my site
Hi experts, I own a site for castingjobs (Site1) and a site for selling paintings (Site2). In a long time, I've had a link at the bottom of Site1, linking to Site 2. (Basicaly: Partnerlink: Link site 2). Site1 is for me the the only important site, since it's where Im making my monthly revenue. I added the link like 5 years ago or so, to try to boost site 2. My question is:

1. Is it somehow bad for SEO for site 1, since the two sites have nothing to do with each other, they are basically just owned by me.
2. Would it make sense to link from Site 2 to Site 1 indstead?0 -
Interlinking sites in multiple languages
I am working on a project where the client has a main .com site and the following additional sites which are all interlinked: .com site targeting US

.com site targeting China
.HK site targeting Hong Kong All sites contain similar information (although the Chinese site is translated). They are not identical copies but being shopping sites, they contain a lot of similar product information. Webmeup software (now defunct) showed that the inbound links to the main site, from the additional domains are considered risky. Linkrisk shows them as neutral. The client wants them to be interlinked and would not want to remove the additional domains as they get a good amount of traffic. In addition, the messages and products for each country domain have been tailored to a degree to suit that audience. We can rewrite the content on the other domains, but obviously this is a big job. Can anyone advise if this would be causing a problem SEO wise and if so, is the best way to resolve it to rewrite the content on the US and Hong Kong sites? Alternatively would it be better to integrate the whole lot together (they will soon be rebuilding the main site, so it would be an appropriate time to do this).0 -
Primary Navigation: Keep All Links Or Keep Top Level
Our eCommerce site www.towelsrus.co.uk employees a primary navigation system which we can enable to as many categories or not as we link. If all categories are enabled it adds roughly another 50 to 60 followed links per page giving all pages roughly 150 followed links (Google suggests no more than 100 per page). If I enable just top level navigation then this reduces them all considerably. Personally from the customer experience I think its better for them all to be visible, however from an SEO perspective and link juice perhaps not. Thought and opinions much appreciated here. Thanks Craig

Similar Sites on Same Class C
Hi there, I asked a similar question a while ago - please pardon the dupe. I figured being more specific may help. Here's the scenario: I have two customers which sell very similar products. They both host with me so they are both on the same class C of ip addresses. Content on sites is similar due to the nature of the business/industry. There are no links between the two sites - they do not link to one another The HTML is about 50% the same, content near zero other than site structure. They have similar category structures. Question - could being on the same Class C adversely effect rankings of either. One site did particularly well until Panda came around and it's sloooowly coming back. Some advise has been given to the client that the IPs being on the same Class C is killing rankings. I am trying to either validate or refute the claim. All help/feedback appreciated.

Site: on Google
Hello, people. I have a quick question regarding search in Google. I use search operator [site:url] to see indexing stauts of my site. Today, I was checking indexing status and I found that Google shows different numbers of indexed pages depends on search setting. 1. At default setting (set as 10 search result shows) > I get about 150 pages indexed by Google. 2. I set 100 results shows per page and tried again. > I get about 52 pages indexed by Google. Of course I used same page URL. I really want to know which data is accurate. Please help people!!
