Why is blocking the SEOmoz crawler considered a red "error?"
-
-
I think because that section is labeled "crawl errors", an area blocked from crawling would be considered an error. I can see where you're coming from, but think of it as an error found with an attempt to crawl, not necessarily an error found in the site itself.

So,
about 4xx errors read this article: http://webdesign.about.com/cs/http/p/http4xx.htm
for Seomoz crawler blocked by robots.txt , on this file, you have added two links, and are blocking the search engine robots to crawl/index this pages on their database.
about this error issue read here please: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=156449
hope helps,
thanks

It seems to me that it should be a "Notice" not an "Error." I am intentionally blocking bots from a defunct directory. Keeping SEOmoz out of an old directory should not (does not?) affect SEO, you know?

Sorry about that. I uploaded it 3 times and finally noticed the "Update" button after uploading on the 3rd attempt.

Hi, i can´t see the attached image, upload it on any imageshack or something like that and share here the url, and i will try to help you.
If the semozbot find errors on crawling, this mean your site have failures on programming of your site, it fails the " search engine friendly " optimisation.
send me image, i will try to help you.

Do we get "Removal of "nofollow" from first custom URL on profile" when we cross 200 Moz Points? I have not received it yet, anything I can do?
Though I have only recently subscribed to Moz Pro, I have been using Moz Blog for quite some time. I recently crossed 200 Moz Points. As per Moz Points, it says "Removal of "nofollow" from first custom URL on profile" for crossing 200 points. I still dont see any links from Moz when I am using OSE. Can anyone suggest what i need to do?

I need to get a page in the top 3 Google results for my keyword "teaching jobs" but am struggling to do so! Can anyone help?
I'm trying to get this page http://www.eteach.com/teaching-jobs to rank as the top search result on Google with the keyword "teaching jobs" but it seems to be number 5 in the results! My competitors are totally kicking my arse on getting this page to be above my website. I've got the keywords in there, I have the right content and I have links, what more can I do to make it rank as number 1! Help please!! If anyone has an SEO check list of things I need to make sure I do on my pages for them to rank in the top 3 results then that would be really handy!

Increase of 404 error after change of encoding
Hello, We just have launch a new version of our website with a new utf-8 encoding. Thing is, we use comma as a separator and since the new website went live, I have a massive increase of 404 error of comma-encoded URL. Here is an example : http://web.bons-de-reduction.com/annuaire%2C321-sticker%2Csite%2Cpromotions%2C5941.html instead of : http://web.bons-de-reduction.com/annuaire,321-sticker,site,promotions,5941.html I check with Screaming Frog SEO and Xenu, I can't manage to find any encoded URL. Is anyone have a clue on how to fix that ? Thanks

SEOmoz Keyword Difficulty Tool been down for a few days?
Hi All, I notice the SEO moz keyword difficulty tool has been down for a few days!!! I know from support that they say it is going to be a "while" till it fixed, but some type of estimation on how long it will be will be good. Also in regards to the types of accounts, why do the top accounts have the same limitations as the 79/month tool in regards to the keyword tool reports (50 max and 5 per scan)? I mean this is probably a wider question for the SEOmoz team need to answer. Kind Regards.

Duplicate content due to "Email a Friend" and "PhotoGallery"
Crawl Diagnostics gives me 1650 duplicate page content errors. 800+ are for photo gallery, the link upon which my large image is shown. 800+ are for the Email a Friend form page. Presumably SEOMoz's tool is getting there by following the link inside a product page, which as you can see will differ only by the ProductCode of every product.

www.completemobilehomesupply.com/EmailaFriend.asp?ProductCode=Shutter001 1 - Is it critical to fix?
I am assuming Yes, but if for some reason the answer is No, please share. 2 - Any idea on how to fix?
The site uses Volusion, fyi, so it may be a limiting factor of the platform. Thank you for your time.
Also if this topic has been previously covered, please link and I'll read there instead.0 -
Link Blocks
Sorry, perhaps a noob question. In relation to site explorer, have also searched and unable to find any information, wondered if anyone could advise as to what "Linking C Blocks" are? Found under the "Compare Link Metrics" tab. Thanks in advance. Lee

4xx (not found) errors seem spurious, caused by a "\" added to the URL
Hi SEOmoz folks We're getting a lot of 404 (not found) errors in our weekly crawl. However the weird thing is that the URLs in question all have the same issue. They are all a valid URL with a backsalsh ("") added. In URL encoding, this is an extra %5C at the end of the URL. Even weirder, we do not have any such URLs in our (Wordpress-based) website. Any insight on how to get rid of this issue? Thanks

Is the "Too Many Links" metric a blunt instrument?
The SEO Moz crawl diagnostics suggest that we have too many on-page links on several pages including on our homepage. How does your system determine when a page has too many links. It looks like when a page as more than 100 links it’s too many. Should the system take into account the page authority, domain authority, depth of page or other metrics? In addition, no-follow links are being included. As these are dropped from Google’s link graph, does it matter if we have too many? For example, we could have 200 links, 120 of which are no follow. Your tools would tell us we have too many links. Feedback appreciated. Donal
