For my site I have keyword relevant category urls and want to have my navigation also match the keyword for the page.

By default my web platform places all of my navigation anchor text inside of a see the example below.

Does this present any issue? Are there concerns I should be aware of? In the past I've just placed the anchor text not within a span in my navigation.

Google will strip the HTML formatting tags out and index just the links and text. Span tags are purely for formatting so there's no issue.

Spam Links Attack, Negative SEO?

Last April we migrated our old domain www.nyc-officespace-leader.com to a new domain www.metro-manhattan.com. The old domain has been receiving numerous links from very spammy sites such as these: -adinternet.net/the_worlds_most_visited_web_pages_958.htm <colgroup><col width="263"></colgroup>

Text hidden by Java

We are developing a new website and intent to use Javascript to make the page more manageable on the screen with a show more / show less. For example http://www.tanzaniaodyssey1.com/tanzania/serengeti where a large amount of the content of the page is "hidden". from what i can see although google won't penalise us but am i right in saying that this content will not be indexed and will count for google ???? I need to make sure that this text is indexed but i also don't want to have horrendously long un-user friendly pages, **Does any one have a way round this ? (could i put the words in a <noscript tag="" ...<="" strong=""></p></noscript>**

Site Wide Text to Code Ratio Tool

Does anyone know of a free or paid tool which provides the text to code ratio for all pages on a site? Something like Screaming Frog but with all the ratios for each page. At the moment we are checking key landing pages individually.

Javascript tabbed navigation and duplicate content

I'm working on a site that has four primary navigation links and under each is a tabbed navigation system for second tier items. The primary link page loads content for all tabs which are javascript controlled. Users will click the primary navigation item "Our Difference" (http://www.holidaytreefarm.com/content.cfm/Our-Difference) and have several options with each tabs content in separate sections. Each second tier tab is also available via sitemap/direct link (ie http://www.holidaytreefarm.com/content.cfm/Our-Difference/Tree-Logistics) without the js navigation so the content on this page is specific to the tab, not all tabs. In this scenario, will there be duplicate content issues? And, what is the best way to remedy this? Thanks for your help!

LSI keywords logic - enter in meta and bold in text?

Hello, In the lack of good info about this on the Internet, let me try here. I know that it is a good idea to put LSI keywords in natural flow in the body text of the article. But shall I also put LSI keywords as a meta? In the same manner as doing with non-LSI keywords? Or shall I only reserve meta for non-LSI keywords? In body text, shall I emphasize LSI keywords in bold? As non-LSI keywords already does. This is a bit confusing as I don't wan't LSI keywords to take over show from my long tail (phrase) keyword. I will appreciate if someone could share a bit light over this. Thanks in advance!

Ideally should a 301 or 302 redirect be used from https://www.site.com to http://www.site.com? Is there a valid reason to use a 302 in this situation or would using a 301 have any negative impact on seo?

Why is either Rogerbot or (if it is the case) Googlebots not recognizing keyword usage in my body text?

I have a client that does liposuction as one of their main services, they have been ranked in the top 1-5 for their keywords "sarasota liposuction" with different variations of the words for a long time, and suddenly have dropped about 10-12 places down to #15 in the engine. I went to investigate this and actually came to the "on-page analysis" tool for SEOmoz pro, where oddly enough it says that there is no mention of the target keyword in the body content (on-page analysis tool screenshot attached). I didn't quite understand why it would not recognize the obvious keywords in the body text so I went back to the page and inspected further. The keywords have an odd featured link that links up to an internally hosted keyword glossary for definitions of terms that people might not know directly. These definitions pop up in a lightbox upon clicking the keyword (liposuction lightbox screenshots attached). I have no idea why google would not recognize these words as they have the text in between the link, yet if there is something wrong with the code syntax etc. it might possibly hender the engine from seeing the body text of the link? any help would be greatly appreciated! Frustration With Google Places

I have been trying to solve this problem with Google Places for quite some time now and just can't figure out where to go from here. I've tried several sent messages explaining the problem and even received several phone calls from Google Places trying to correct the issue with no luck. I have even tried totally deleting the listing and started over from scratch and re-verified the address with a mailed postcard.
