Link equity of ifram
-
If I link an iframe to pull its content - does that count as inbound link for the iframed content? Am I passing linklove to that page?
I am on x.com and have an iframe pull content from z.com. Does this give linklove from x to z.com?
(I am NOT asking if the z context is indexed in x, although I am weary to follow the most frequent statement that they do not. Google states that they will try to pull the content from the iframe, but don't guarantee it.)

Thanks. We're not trying to trick anything, but we're thinking about the effects it has. Some cases where we might NOT want to give link equity to frame content (internally or externally) and for internal content perhaps set up a robots rule as this might be incomplete pages we don't want indexed. Thanks!

Google often treats each iframe as it's own html page. Though they say that they try to link the iframe back to the page it's being displayed on; from my experience, this does not seem to happen very often. So, yes, it would give linklove from x.com to z.com. Though beware as it's going into gray hat territory.

How Many Natural Links Do You Earn?
Hello Mozzers, This is a bit of an open ended question and I don't think any one person is going to be the same. I have recently seen the light in my link building practices and I am trying to get a feel for what to expect in terms of natural link acquisition in an effective content marketing strategy. My question is how many natural links do you generally find yourself earning after the first 12 months of content creation/placement with a new website/industry? I know this is going to be a question with a multitude of different answers. I look forward to your valuable insight as always!

Links from non-indexed pages
Whilst looking for link opportunities, I have noticed that the website has a few profiles from suppliers or accredited organisations. However, a search form is required to access these pages and when I type cache:"webpage.com" the page is showing up as non-indexed. These are good websites, not spammy directory sites, but is it worth trying to get Google to index the pages? If so, what is the best method to use?

Wikipedia links - any value?
Hello everyone. We recently posted some of our research to Wikipedia as references in the "External Links" section. Our research is rigorous and has been referenced by a number of universities and libraries (an example: https://www.harborcompliance.com/information/company-suffixes.php). Anyway, I'm wondering if these Wikipedia links have any value beyond of course adding to the Wiki page's information. Thanks!

Disavow Links Notification
No manual actions on our sites, just Penguin related. I put in a disavow for one site in October and Webmaster Tools kept a message up for some time saying the disavow links file for that site had been updated. I put in a disavow for another site of ours last week and I've had no such message. I checked and the file is there. Was this an intentional change on Google's part? Just want to make sure something's not messed up here.

Iframes and Gooogle
I am doing some SEO work for client that has a restaurant reservation plugin with a review website connected to it, they handle reservations through an iframe plugin on all pages of the restaurants that are connected to it. Can I place a link in the iframe and get Google to index it? Would be nice. Google is indexing the iframes when you look for certain very longtail keywords. Google displays a page where only the iframe is displayed, this is not relevant for the user and I would like to remove it. But I prefer links and indexed iframes over no links and no indexed iframes on longtail keywords.

Are Links from Homepage safe?
I have the option of getting a link from 2 websites home pages. My site is a financial service website. I want to know if it is safe to do so. The first site is a hotel site, so their content has no relation to my site And the second is a Google News website about finances They have offered me a section in the sidebar to have a sentence or 2 about my site with a link. Can you tell me would these be safe to get? I don't want to be hit by any penalty

Am I buying links according to Google?
I have the opportunity to sponsor a variety of sections in a variety of .edu sites. Really appealing since they will both provide high quality traffic as well as to help our rankings... (maybe 🙂 )... Anyway this opportunity involves a monetary exchange, no different than advertising in Adwords and/or buying a display ad with the NYT. The links will be both text and banner... With follow links. My questions to you guys are: Is this practice penalize? And will display ads pass link juice also? Thanks for the help...
