Is there really "keyword strategy" for sites with User Generated content? Any experiences?

I am starting website focused on consumer complaints/reviews with purely User Generated content. Is there really "keyword strategy" for such sites? I can only think of analyzing competition's keywords and understanding long tail http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-big-is-your-long-tail-whiteboard-friday.
Any experiences? Or ideas?

I never use user generated content on its own. I always try to put some description besides like if it is a product than I give a brief about the product, where I can use it's name in the title, in the headings and maybe with a picture. The length depends on how much research would you like to do. Than in the end II alwas encourage people to share their opinion. I do it this way. I think that simply user generated content should be enough if you are targeting something so new, that nobody or really few people know exact things, everybody is rather just guessing about what is might exactly be or how should it work. In this case nobody will have long content with much keywords te beat you with.

Competing Pages for Ranking Keywords?
Hey there, My client has this existing page which ranks for rentals-related keywords that are product type specific - i.e. electric wheelchair rentals, mobility scooter rentals, etc. https://mobilityequipmentforless.com/pages/rentals I recently made a rentals page for each product type to try and really target those keywords that the rentals page is ranking for. Is this a problem? Is the potential nature of the pages competing for the keywords a real issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Mike

Disparity between new and old keyword planner
Hi everyone! While performing keyword research using both Google's old and new Keyword Planner, I've noticed a disparity between the two tools. In many cases, the old tool gives a much larger monthly search volume than the new tool. There are a few cases where both tools provide the same monthly search volume for a term, but those are few and far between. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance!

Ranking Tracker-"Sorry But This Page Inaccessible". ERROR
When I try to use the on page grader and enter my URL, an error message appears stating: "Sorry But This Page Inaccessible". The URL is http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/commercial-space/office-space and it works fine when I enter it on my browser. Any page from this domain generates this error. Is there a bug with this tool? How would I go about tracking ranking on various keywords? I see it is possible to tag keywords, and I have done so for about 250. But I don't know how to generate a ranking report for these keywords; ideally I would like to do so filtering them by the label I have applied. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Sudden keyword rankings drop
Hi, My latest MOZ report has indicated there has been a significant drop in ranking for 65 keywords, some by as much as 30 places. This is not something I have experienced before and seems very drastic. Is there a reasonable explanation or fix for this? Thanks for any advice!

Local Keywords
Hello everyone. Still loving MOZ. Question: When I research a keyword phrase such as Entertainers it is returning a local search of 15,972. I want to target three specific cities in my area ( Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Akron). When I research the phrase Cleveland Entertainers I'm getting a local search result of 0. Should I just assume that the search is still large enough to use? Should I target Cleveland Entertainers still with feedback of 0? Also is it a good idea to target the word entertainers with three separate pages to three separate cities? I'm planning on making three separate blogs with new content on each. This will not be duplicate content.

Keyword question
In my keywords should they include the city name or not? Example..... plastic surgery or plastic surgery Orlando I know the search engine knows what city i am in, if i search for plastic surgery and i live in Orlando, does it pull up world wide plastic surgery links first or local plastic surgery clinics? Thanks in advance. Daniel

How do you optimize for compound keywords
What is the best way to handle keywords like "switchplate covers"? The key word may be seen as either a 2 or 3 word phrase, depending how you handle the compound term: "switch plate" or "switchplate" In google KW it shows different results for switch plate vs switchplate as well as using cover vs covers. I've tried using all the variations in my descriptions, titles and H2s but I think this is diluting them all. Can anyone show me best practice guidelenes or examples of good solutions to these kinds of compound key words? Thanks Handcrafter

Keyword Difficulty: High or Low?
Looked in the FAQ in the Keyword Difficulty tool but it didn't mention whether or not a higher % or lower % is better. I'm assuming that a higher % means that the keyword is more competitive, is that correct?
