I was pretty hardcore into SEO and Internet Marketing for a solid 3 years when I was running a Real Estate Investment Education Network.
Over the past 16 months I've been running my own little Drupal shop and have pretty much gravitated towards developing cool stuff.
SEO is still substantially important in my daily life because a site needs to be tuned to not leave any money on the table, so I keep in touch.
One thing I've noticed having kept SEO on the back burner is that it really hasn't changed all that much over the past year. Sure factors and results keep fluctuating, but all the core elements of SEO simply continue to be the way... Squeeze out every bit of on-page/site SEO points and make sure that the content rocks and is part of a greater strategy.
