I want to dofollow links to great blog posts or websites - NOT affiliate links. I cannot find a plugin that nofollows affiliate links. Any suggestions? Amazon does not redirect and I have a lot of Amazon affiliate links.

Best way to nofollow affiliate links?
I don't "nofollow" affiliate links but I have quite a few. Doing them one by one would just be an impossible job. Would it be best to get a plugin that nofollows EVERYTHING? What would google prefer? I need to DOFOLLOW some links because those sites deserve it.

Paying someone for SEO help?
Moz has been very helpful but since my site was hit by Google Panda and I am getting very little organic traffic, I am thinking about having someone who really knows SEO take a look and give me some help. However, I have no idea how to find someone reputable. Any advice for hiring someone for SEO help (on a budget?)

RE: Help! A site has copied my blog!
Thanks for this excellent answer. I did a search and my site is the only one that came up in the results. The scraper site is not loading so I guess it is gone.
I think I have the rel="canonical" tags on all my pages because I have the Wordpress SEO by yoast plugin.
Thanks so much because I really don't have time for letters and lawyers.

RE: The better my blog gets, the lower my rankings!
I cleaned up the dup content which was from archive subpages and a few duplicate title tags.
The site with the DA of 73 gets 4 million unique hits a month and is one of the top personal finance blogs in the US. There are no negatives to backlinks from this amazing site.
Thanks for the two Panda related links.

RE: The better my blog gets, the lower my rankings!
Why are you assuming that my guest post was not original content? It was. There are no duplicate content issues whatsoever. The google traffic going down the day my guest post was published was just a coincidence. My point is Google Panda has hit my site unfairly and nothing is working to get my rankings back up.

RE: The better my blog gets, the lower my rankings!
Actually this is really terrible advice. I am not giving content away. The guest post was original content and only on that other blog. I got over 100 subscribers and 100 new Facebook likes from that guest post and my traffic is up. The backlinks from that guest post are also great because the DA of that site is 73. And this other blog is not a competitor. It is a supporter of my blog and that support has earned me a pretty penny.
My problem is Google Panda.

The better my blog gets, the lower my rankings!
My blog was hit by Google Panda on July 21. My rankings dropped dramatically overnight. Nothing I do is helping. In fact, the day my guest post was published on one of the biggest blogs in my niche (DA over 70) my Google impressions dropped to an all time low and then got worse. (250 impressions and 12 clicks) You can see the first drop and the second drop in these screenshots and yes Google Webmasters and Google Analytics match.

I am getting more fans, subscribers, traffic etc but my Google traffic just gets worse. I would really like to get some organic traffic! But I have no idea why this is happening. I checked manual actions and there is nothing. I cleaned up crawl errors and duplicate content. I get several backlinks a week within my niche from high authority sites. I just don't get it and I am very discouraged.
What should I do?

Help! A site has copied my blog!
My site tanked on July 21 and I have been working so hard to bring it back up but nothing is working. Today I looked at "Links to Your Site" on Google Webmasters and I see a copy of my site on another URL.
mysite.eemovies.org/mycategory/mypost
The domain name is eemovies.org and then all my stuff is wrapped around it and all my content is there! How do I stop this?!

That would take forever! Seriously! But I have no programming skills whatsoever.

How can I nofollow my affiliate links?
I have a lot of affiliate links and I need to find an efficient way to nofollow them. I have over 500 blog posts and most have an affiliate link. I use Wordpress and Genesis. Any advice?

RE: How do I get rid of these nofollow backlinks from 1 comment I made?
No. It is a new blog, I was being friendly. So is every single blog post published from now on going to show up as a nofollow comment? Why, when I just commented on one post?
-
How do I get rid of these nofollow backlinks from 1 comment I made?
I wrote a comment on another blog and now every single time that blog posts an article, it comes up as a nofollow backlink in OpenExplorer. It is really annoying to see when I check for new follow backlinks. I just wrote ONE comment on ONE blog post. How can I stop this? There are at least 10 showing up today! Thanks!

RE: Deindexing Archive Subpages?
My Moz crawl didn't show all this duplicate content so I am wondering if Google is just behind and hasn't seen the change yet? Unfortunately I don't know how to check the source of it's noindex. I am using Genesis and SEO Wordpress and supposedly they work really well together.

Deindexing Archive Subpages?
I am using Yoast Wordpress SEO and I have clicked on the option to deindex archive subpages. However, I have over 200 duplicate title tag errors in Google Webmasters and most are due to subpages. I am using the URL removal tool but I am going to create several pages every day which is just going to cause more duplicate title tag errors. I don't understand why the Wordpress SEO settings are not working. How can I get google to stop indexing archive subpages? My site tanked BIG TIME about a week ago. Every day it is worse. From 320 clicks a day to 30. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Diagnose My Google Crash!
The graph is over a period of almost 3 months. May 1 until today. I can understand the honeymoon thing but crashing me overnight isn't very nice!
I know my DA is small. But it isn't really updated either - I have way more links than that. But I know I am new and time will help.
I think certain posts were ranking high because I was getting backlinks from sites with DA of 68-72. I just got 2 more this morning. It seems like Google decided to just disregard all of those backlinks. I am still on the first page for my main keyword so at least I have that.
Any links or suggestions for an online marketing campaign? I really appreciate your feedback.

RE: Diagnose My Google Crash!
Well I just saw this in WMT's today so no. That is going to take forever. Sorry I know that sounds whiny. But thanks for the reminder that I can do that.

RE: Duplicate Content - Category Pages 2+
I am using Yoast. I did the recommended settings. But Google seems to be ignoring the archive settings and indexing past page 1. Can I reboot Yoast or something to try and get it to "take"?
I don't use tags or author archives and those are noindexed.
My archives show the full article. I would like to do a preview but without a picture it is just way too boring. I should probably figure out how to show a picture preview. I am using Genesis.
Suggestions?

Diagnose My Google Crash!
On July 20, my site peaked in terms of google impressions. On July 21 it crashed and then got worse. Here is my chart from Google Webmasters.
I have been working really hard to get qualify backlinks from my niche (mom deals/coupons) and I know people like my site due to the growth in newsletter subscriptions etc. So what happened with Google? Is it Google Panda? Nothing on my site changed except maybe I had been getting less backlinks for a few days.
I am having duplicate content issues which I posted about in another question. For some reason Google is indexing past page 1 of my category pages even though Yoast Wordpress SEO is set NOT to. So I am getting duplicate title tag errors from the subpages. I also have some crawl errors/404s due to deleting and renaming categories to improve my site. Any SEO issues my site might have (shorter posts than 300 words, affiliate links etc) are the same issues my competitor's have who are on page 1 of Google.
Any input would be appreciated.

Duplicate Content - Category Pages 2+
I have my Wordpress SEO settings to deindex past page 1 of each category. However, Google Webmasters is selling me I have 210 pages with duplicate title tags.
My site tanked last weekend and I don't know if it was Google Panda or what. I have been getting some fantastic backlinks and it seems like they just decided to disregard all of them as I am completely off the SERPs.
Is this duplicate content a contributing factor? How can I get google to deindex my category pages past page 1? (I do need the first page to index as that does bring me organic traffic)
Thanks.

RE: Google traffic plummeted on Sunday - what can I do?
Yes I am doing my best to add value. Tips, reviews, info - and only the best deals on the best products that moms love. I know moms like my site based on the response. Plus - the big deal sites (DA: 68-73) are using my deals and giving me backlinks. I write from a first person point of view and I don't do paid posts or anything like that. My site is better than some ranking on the first page right now - sites that don't update frequently on some category pages, that have very little content, go off-topic just to make money, but high DA because they are older sites.
How can I nofollow my affiliate links? I have about 600 posts. I can't go back and do it one by one.
-
RE: Google traffic plummeted on Sunday - what can I do?
A honeymoon boost does make sense. I am getting some awesome backlinks but my Domain Authority is 17 and I have been on the first page with sites that are 40+. However, I attributed that to the backlinks.
I am still on the first page for my main keyword. Not getting much traffic but at least I have that.
I have no copied content whatsoever. But I do have a lot of affiliate links that are not cloaked as my blog is deal/coupon related with an audience of moms.

RE: Google traffic plummeted on Sunday - what can I do?
Thanks. I have been trying to build proper, awesome content and links and google was loving me. I just don't get why all of a sudden everything plummeted.

Google traffic plummeted on Sunday - what can I do?
On Sunday, my google traffic plummeted. I was getting 320 hits a day from Google on my best days - my site is just about to turn 3 months old so I was thrilled with that. On Sunday it was 110 and I think it is getting worse. Edit: Yep, yesterday was 65.
Google Webmasters shows the drop today. One day, my impressions were 5,500 and the next just 1,000. Yikes. My traffic is so depressing now after so much hard work.
Is this Google Panda? What can I do? I have no idea why this happened. I am getting several quality backlinks a week, sometimes a day.

Eyeblaster?!
Twice now I have seen someone on Google Analytics visiting the page:
/eyeblaster/addineyeV2.html
This page does not exist. What is going on?

RE: Using a keyword on homepage of a blog
I am using Wordpress and Genesis and I cannot figure out how to give my header image a keyword. I can't do an H1 on my homepage because it would look terrible.
I was thinking about putting it in my sidebar but would that cause problems with my category pages that target other keywords? I have gotten some errors for self-cannibalizing.
Thanks for your help!

RE: Using a keyword on homepage of a blog
I tried using synonyms or breaking up the keyword but Moz wouldn't give me a better score.

Using a keyword on homepage of a blog
I have a blog and the homepage has the 5 most recent posts. I ran a report card on my homepage for my main keyword. One of the problems is that the keyword only appears 1 time. I don't want to put it in the signature of every post because I found that causing problems with self-cannibalizing. I checked my competitor and they got a check mark for this but I looked at their homepage and I found the keyword NOWHERE! So where is my competitor hiding the keywords and how can I get the keywords on the homepage when the content is constantly changing?
Thanks in advance!

RE: Do Parent Categories Hurt SEO?
Well I am only getting decent rankings for one category and it is a parent category. However, I have not optimized the other pages yet so I cannot expect to rank well. I just want to make sure I am building a strong foundation. I am a new blog and want to do things right as well as I can from the beginning.
I am using WordPress.
Thanks for the link!
