I have seen a shift in National results and seeing some losses and recovery from it.

I have just done some checking based on seeing your post across a few localised keywords and see that some have dropped out of the top 100, others have made a healthy jump and even some that have stayed as they are ??

Go figure with Google

Get some back links to that post as quickly as you can, even if it is bookmarking or social sharing.

As a rule you want to always get the content indexed on your site first prior to it released via syndication or worse (in this situation) scrapped by another site.
