Hi Umar, thanks for the reply. By 'general metrics' I was referring to the retail conversion rate of 3-6%. Cheers,
Hi All,
There's loads of info around on general retail conversion rates, but does anyone have any experience with online lighting shops and typical conversion rates? This is a highly price driven shopper, and from my experience so far they bounce around looking for the best price... We've recently taken ownership of this new site, and I'm not sure I can relate general metrics to this site... although there is lots of work to do on here!
Cheers in advance.
I had some big errors show up in November, but I can't see them anymore as the history only goes back 90 days. Is there a way to change the dates in Webmaster Tools? If not, is there another place I'd be able to get this information? We migrated our hosting to a new company around this time and the agency that handled it for us never downloaded a copy of all the redirects that were set-up on the old site.
Hi all,
I have a blog for my site, but it hasn't been integrated into our site yet (that will happen in the next few months when we do some site changes).
For now, it sits on a Wordpress.com site, and links from my website.
I post a couple times a week, have social media linked to it, and feed posts to aggregators regularly. I also comment and like other Wordpress.com sites, but it just isn't ranking.
Do I just need to stay persistent? It's been up for a month now, but still only getting a few hits a day. Any advice?
I know that Google doesn't use meta keywords, but does it hurt to have anything in there? Just wondering if I need to remove all the meta keywords that are on my site, or are they harmless to have.
Also, would meta keywords ever be used by an internal search plug-in if we were to install one in the future, or do they generally look at the product title and description for that info?
I had a problem with this when auto-complete caome out. The name of the site I was working on had two words in the name, the first word was also the name of a competitors site. If you visited their site once, that was it... you weren't getting to the second word to find us!
We saw a 30% drop in visits. Some of it came back, but not all of it. I discussed this with our Google rep at the time, and they assured me it had nothing to do with auto-complete, but I couldn't find any other explanation.
Hi All, I posted previously about this, and had some good advice (thanks!)... but not quite sure my problem has been fixed.
About a month ago we changed our hosting over, and our dev didn't coordinate to have both versions of our homepage redirected to the same URL. Our crawl showed up with every single page as duplicate content, and our organic traffic has since dropped by over 60%.
They have told me that it is fixed as of last Monday, and a redundant error that was appearing in my Google Analytics now says that it has been fixed, but Moz crawled my site 2 days ago and still says everything is duplicate content, and my organic traffic is stressing me out!
Any advice on how I can check this is done for myself, rather than trusting these guys haven't messed it up any further? Or is it possible the Moz crawl is a bit slower?
Thanks in advance.
From a customer standpoint, it would probably make sense to have a main page as the parent, even if you only feature the main items with banners and offer a list of all 30 to click from.
Hi Mick,
One more question if you don't mind, how would this affect my traffic results? Could this be why my direct is off so much? Or would it show in my organic traffic?
My Direct traffic used to be 3x or 4x by Organic or Paid traffic, now it's barely 1/10th. Cheers.

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
