To echo the previous responses, rely on redirects to successfully migrate your site to HTTPS without any hitches. Afterall, security has been a top priority for Google and since they've called for HTTPS everywhere across the web, they're likely to reward those who stay up with the trends. Do people receive notifications when you respond to their Google reviews?
If someone leaves a review of your business on your Google My Business listing, and you respond to that review, will they receive an email notification of your response to their review?
We are working with a client who has unanswered reviews from several years ago, and though it's best practice to respond to all reviews, we didn't want to respond to reviews from 2013 if the person (who has likely forgot about their experience with the business in question) is going to get an email notifying them of our late response to their review.
Thank you!

Two Companies Merging - Impacts on SEO
Hi there!
I work with Company A. They've decided to merge with Company B (who we don't work with/doesn't do SEO) under Company B's name. (We would then work on Company B's website.)
What would be the impact on SEO if the content from Company A's website is moved to Company B's website, and Company A's website would be deleted?
Factors to consider:
- Both websites have a domain authority of 6 and a homepage authority of 21, and each has less than 5 backlinks.
- Company A ranks much better than Company B (of the KWs we're tracking, Company A ranked on Page One for 15.3% of them, while Company B ranked for 2.8% of them).
So, what I am asking is:
- If they do the content migration to Company B's website and get rid of Company A's website, what negative impact would that have on SEO?
- Could we keep both sites, but change the mentions of Company A on their website to Company B? Although the URL would still be Company A's name, could Company B treat this as a microsite and take up more of the search engine real estate since Company A already has rankings?
- What would be another solution? The companies merging is definitely happening.
Thank you in advance.

RE: What a Brand should do first for Their Blog Keyword Research or Topic Research?
Hello,
Have you tried the Moz Keyword Explorer tool? You can find out how often keywords are searched, how difficult it is to rank on Google for these keywords, the opportunity that your link will actually be clicked on, the human element (aka what we know that the data doesn't know), and finally, the potential, which takes all those aforementioned metrics into consideration.
One of the REALLY cool things about this tool is this: you can type in a keyword, and then a list of keywords (long tailed and short) will show up in a list. Often times, commonly searched questions will show up in this list, which can inspire blog topics.
That way, you can research keywords and topics at the same time.
Hope this helps--best of luck.

RE: Include Site Name in Page Titles or not
Hi There!
Blue Corona is an Internet Marketing company so this is exactly the sort of thing we help our clients with! We have years of experience tracking and testing different SEO strategies so you can take our word on this one!
A title tag is limited to only 70 characters so you want to use this small space wisely! (Anything over 70 characters will not help you, only hurt you and confuse search engines) Given this small amount of space, you do not have room to put your company name in there. You may have room for your name in the Meta Description, but never the title tag.
In the title tag you want to enter keywords and location modifiers. Let's do an example. Let's pretend you are creating a page for plumbing repair service in Tampa, Florida. You should use the title tag:
Plumbing Repair in Tampa, FL | Florida Plumbing Service & Repair

RE: My site just dropped significant!
Chris and Mike both make great points!
If you choose to consolidating under one domain, consider creating geo-targeted pages for each of the countries/service areas you want to make sure you're ranking for. The content can be similar to a point, but that way your website will still target the areas you care about.
Chris' point about the challenges of authority with multiple sites raises a great point, too. Get authority up through link building, social campaigns, etc, and you could see some positive changes.
