The link doesn't work for me either, but if as you say the markup is hard-coded (not real users voting), I did see it a while ago, the boost lasted around two weeks, then as Kevin points out it backfired (site got penalized) and they removed it, although it wasn't probably the only reason since they were implementing many other 'tricks' at the time.

RE: Stop words
You'll find contradictory information on the subject and some SEOs will advice not to include stop words in the title, however, if as you say, the keyword set you're targeting explicitly contains it, I would still include it (i.e. wouldn't remove 'for' from 'homes for sale').
Now if we're talking about a high number of stop words that aren't particularly useful or descriptive, maybe it would be best to exclude them, especially from the URL (.i.e. 'a small guide of the black sea for you' could be better off with an URL like /black-sea-guide/).
IMO, I guess the best practice would be to use the title/URL that better describes your content and makes more sense for the users you're trying to engage.

RE: Location appearing on search result. how can this be achieved?
You could merge those two if you want, just do a bit of research first. and Schema.org mark up really helps!

Try this: http://www.google.com/business/placesforbusiness/
You can also use microdata and submitting your location to G+ helps too!

RE: Is that a problem for indexing?
Well, I'm not sure since I'm not familiar with that plugin, try it's documentation or just googling it.
A quick search shows relevant results, even a thread by the plugin's author referring to the issue with the title and the other plugin you are using, but I guess it would be a lot better to create an actual page, at least for your index.

RE: Is that a problem for indexing?
You should be able to set different titles and descriptions as they are different pages, or are you generating the English page with some kind of automatic translation or plugin?
Try to set the titles directly from WordPress instead of the ALL in one SEO plugin and see if that works.
Concerning the ?attachment_id= page, it shows an empty page with the blog title.
This is generated by WP when you link an attachment (an image for example), one solution would be to make sure none of your attachments are linking to it's attachment page or just not linking at all. Another could be to upload an empty file named 'attachment.php' to your WP root directory with a noindex tag and/or redirect it to your home page. Here's another solution you could try: http://www.lancelhoff.com/wordpress-disable-image-attachment-page-links/
See if it works.

RE: Top keywords
Yeah, those are some of the 'official' pages, but they don't seem to provide so much info.
There are lists provided by individuals or keyword research companies (i.e. wordtracker's) but they will usually be segmented for a specific search engine, it's country, language, the time it was built, etc., etc., maybe that's why you don't see congruence between them.
Here you'll find a few more resources: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2066257/What-People-Search-For-Most-Popular-Keywords
Google's Keyword Tool also gives you an estimate of the searches for a term over the past 12 months, and you can segment by country, language and industry (if you leave this one blank you're supposed to get the most searched terms) although is not very reliable.
But I'd guess the best would be for you to conduct your own research based on the specific audience you're targeting.

RE: Why is SEOmoz link tagged with a (nofollow) for my site? I have tried to write a youmoz post a couple of times. But, I am just not an expert, that is why I am on SEOmoz.
Well, they may be other ways, but one seems to be to get the Journeyman status in the Q&A:
Level: Journeyman
mozPoints: 200-999
Benefits: "Nofollow" is removed from the first custom URL on profile -

RE: Keyword density
It sure does have an impact, but you probably wouldn't want to "calculate" it, just keep it natural and focus on the user, as long as you do that and you're not trying to manipulate the search engines you should be on the safe side :).
Check point three on the following video:
10 Myths That Scare SEOs But Shouldn't
And remember Google is good at semantics, so even if you feel the need to repeat a concept, you can do that providing a richer user experience without having to worry about specific terms.
Hope it helps! -
RE: Inurl:login.aspx + "register" "retrieve password" + intext:employment
They are looking for pages that contain the terms "login.aspx", "register" and "retrieve password" in the URL structure (inurl command) and the term "employment" in the body of the page (intext: command).
You can find more about Google's search operators here: http://www.googleguide.com/advanced_operators.html
In this case it seems they are looking to access an ASP.NET source file, it could be that they are searching for a web to hack..

RE: Has anyone else gotten strange WMT errors recently?
If you checked and all is fine, it maybe a be a temporary bug, it happens from time to time.
The 100% rate could be that it was only one crawl, hence 100% error rate (1 of 1), just wait for the next crawl.Anyway, in the meantime, check your domain with a DNS checker, you can use www.dnsstuff.com, www.intodns.com or dnscheck.pingdom.com/ to make sure everything is working correctly or to see if there's anything you need to take to your hosting provider.

RE: Link Building for extremely niche industry
Maybe you just need to think a little outside of the box. For example, an article about scanning could be an useful resource for students, in a design blog, or even in a photography one, just think of all it's possible uses and stay creative!
Also googling the terms will get you a good place to start, check the SERP for 'Microfiche Scanning' for example, I'm staring at a few good linking opportunities right there.
Good luck!

RE: Location targeting with no physical location
Apart from server location, your link profile carries a lot of weight. For example, if you are targeting users in Germany, you'd want to get links from German IP's and .de domains.
Besides that, the other important thing would be to establish your geographic target within GWT (domain geolocation). You can read more here: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=62399

RE: Does the page title keyword count in anchor text when link is web address?
The article is quoted as a resource for the op to catch up on the subject, and since Seomoz's Ranking Factors edition is biennial, 2011's edition is the closest we've got.
And sure external link's anchors and URL keywords importance has declined over time, but they still are heavy ranking factors (not even Cutts would deny that ;).
-
RE: Does the page title keyword count in anchor text when link is web address?
Sure it counts, that's one of the reasons that give value to keyword rich domain names, people tend to link using the URL as anchor text, and in this case they would be using your targeted keyword (besides having it in every URL).

RE: Login webpage blocked by robots
Unless you have relevant information for your users on the log in page (i.e. for your private use) then it's probably a good idea not to index it!
-
RE: Trading Backlinks a good idea?
If you exchange links with quality sites, relevant to your niche and in a useful manner from the user point of view, you should be on the safe side and could probably benefit from it.

RE: Why is this site at no.1?
After a superficial look I couldn't see anything terribly wrong with it, it's just a bit over-optimized, but it has fare enough metrics, the keyword on the domain, a reasonable url structure and relevant content, so why shouldn't it rank well? It doesn't look like a highly competitive keyword combination. Also, if you say the site just jumped in, bare in mind that Google maybe testing it and it could go down soon enough.

RE: Moz metrics / PageRank Incoherence
I've been seeing similar metrics for a few months now, there haven't been any significant changes on the site.

RE: Duplicate Page Titles? I thought this was good structure....
The problem is that your blog title is also appearing as the title of your inner pages.
You should create unique titles for your pages or (if you want to include your blog title) you can do something like "Page title | Blog title".
I see you're using WordPress, here's a good place to start: http://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/
Good luck!

Moz metrics / PageRank Incoherence
I'm checking some domains/pages where I could acquire some links, but I'm seeing huge differences between Moz metrics and PageRank and I'm hesitant about the meaning of it..
Given that PR was updated recently, is it safe to assume tons of crappy inbound links or a penalization by Google?
Here is an example:
Page Authority: 60
Page MozRank: 6.0
Page MozTrust: 6.0
Domain Authority: 50
Domain MozRank: 4.0
Domain MozTrust: 4.0Google PageRank: 1
Any clues?
Cheers!
